Is the warranty working on that ?
Can franco kernel solve this issue ?
Mh if you have not already broken your warranty I would send it in. Faux kernel can solve this problem and I think also Franco but it's not the same. It seems that your device has a strong hardware tint so I think it'll look better if you send it in

To be honest I don't know about warranty maybe someone here has gained some experience with warranty?
It's not the same, in my opinion because it seems you device has some abnormal "heavy" tint so I think you can neutralise the yellow tint but I don't know to which degree you will be successful, because of the heavy tint.
I'm sorry it's hard to explain.
You can definitely make the display look more natural and better balanced but I don't know how strong the tint is, because most Nexus 4 have a way to strong blue color.
Maybe it would help if you could take a photo of the display with a nice white balance and some comparison like a white paper next to it (and a clean white color shown in the display) so that we can see more clearly how strong the tint is.
But if you cannot send it in now I think you will try it out. And I don't know if they will take the phone back after a few months because of a problem which exists since you bought the device...
But I'm really unexperienced with warranty.
Maybe someone else could leave his opinion?
Edit: lol looks like a poem because of the 5 lines per stanza... At least in Tapatalk lol

in my opinion, the yellow tint is not heavy...but it gives a strange colors in parameter and on grey in general. The white is quite good i think, maybe a little bit yellow, but definitely not blue.( the screen also have average vision angle in terms of ligth (not colors)is that normal ?( it s not a very important thing)
by the way, i will try other kernel if i can't adapt to the screen.
of course i will try to make a photo, but i only have my computer for that and i don't know any software ofcapable taking photo with the webcam XD

Na it's OK if it's not too heavy you can neutralise it, but you won't find a preset for a too yellow screen so you will need to calibrate it on your own with gamma and stuff so it will take time but it's possible
I would take faux kernel he has one general app and then one separate display calibration app
Average vision angle is normal
EDIT: Franco has such an app too, Sry didn't know. Only gained experience with faux and I'm happy with it

slim bean rom can solve it too (compared to JRxxY stock), seems like including color tweaks
Did you try to fix it?
Did you manage to get rid of the tint?

Please help! I just bought the Bell galaxy s 2 today and realised that in low brightness settings screen has a pink tint.
Does anyone have this issue? Its more visible in grey colors. When i compare with my galaxy s, galaxy s' whites are true white and galaxy s 2's white are pinkish tint on it. When the brihhtness is at %100 its not that visible but once u set it %0 it becomes pinkish.
Is it what it suppose to be or its defective?
Note: yes i played with background effect but it didnt help. I am running KG2.
Edit: I compared with galaxy s again and if I make the brightness %100 on galaxy s 2 both screens almost identical (although SGS2 still has little warm whites) but at %0 brightness when I pull down the notification screen sgs2 has literally pink hue
Why not anyone comment on this? 100 something views and no comments?
U guys all have sgs2. pls at least share your phone's display colors so I can know if something is wrong with mine.
Yep got it to and also pink on camera also mine going back to Amazon tomorrow had two in a week with same problem Ive got one ordered from another retailer ... but I think its a inherent fault

Yup..got it too..in Indian sgs2..got screen replaced bt no difference..for me most visible when browsing xda app for long..also pink in camera..tried everythng bt can't get rid of it..its company fault..

Are you saying your whole screen looks rather pinkish ? I've seen couple of devices that were pretty much reddish when showing white, but i think that's not normal. You should replace it.

Yes whole screen has a reddish tint. Especially grey colors. Instead of grey it displays reddish. If i compare Gmail app with Sgs side by side, my screen has ridiculously pink color.
I wonder if its a software issue or hardware? Cuz I remember in sgs hardcore's kernel he made an.option to change the colors.
This is my second sgs2. First one had a dead pixel. So I didnt wanna go right away and change it. I wanted to ask yours.
More input will appreciated.
I uploaded a pic SGS and SGS2 side by side displaying Grey Graident Colors. what do you think?
If your phone looks like the one on the right, get it replaced. No rom/firmware will make it look good.

I'd take the lack or response to mean that it's not a problem experienced by many people. If your read the threads talking about the display, you'll see there's wide variations in color temperature. Cool/blue seems to be normal while there are reports of phones leaning toward warm/yellow. Pink hasn't been reported a lot so I'd exchange the phone.

My girlfriend and I have the same german sgs2 (dbt) and mine has a bit of a greenish tint whereas hers had a but if a reddish tint. You can't notice it when using the phones alone but when you put them side by side you can notice it a little bit, but really not that much. Seems to be an AMOLED thing. Maybe I'll manage to take a photo for you.

Thanks a lot for that image. I have been wondering what people were talking about when they mentioned pinkish screen...
Luckily I don't seem to have that problem. It seems like there are a few defective screens out there.
perhaps supercurio will have a voodoo colour fix with the sgs2 whenever he releases it. It fixed the tinge on the original sgs. Look it up if u are unfamiliar with it
I changed the phone today and got a new one. Its better now and significany less pink color.
Also I discovered something that the pink tint is only visible when u look at the screen 90 degrees. If u tilt the phone a little (5-10 degrees) to left-right or up-down and view like that the color turns normal (like my year old sgs).
It made me realise that this is a screen coating issue (maybe coating causes polarisation). So do u think this will go away with the time of use?
When I turn off the screen and check it under light by tilting I can see a little purple glare.
What do u think?
Hi I have the white galaxy note 3 and I've noticed after a few weeks of using it that the screen has a slight yellowish tint. it is especially noticeable when looking at white backgrounds and on the Google home page. My gf also has the black note 3 however she got hers a month after me and I got mine the day it came out. On her screen there is no yellow tint at all and the whites are perfectly crisp white and not off white. Does anyone have a solution for this or how to fix it also the screen on her phone seems a lot more hd and clearer compared to mine, this can especially be seen at low brightness. Please help Thank you.

Well, you can download an app called "Screen adjuster" and see if you can remove the yellow tint that way. I seriously doubt it but it's worth a shot, otherwise I don't see another way to solve this. Maybe someone else got an awesome idea. But try the app, otherwise I think it's a defect screen, unfortunately.
The yellow tint will be more noticable on Movie mode correct? How about if you switch to dynamic mode and or standard mode, do you still see yellow?
My S4 used to be slightly yellow also. As did most of my IOS phones I had before.

Nope I've never used movie mode before always been on standard, dynamic improves it slightly but the yellow is definetly still there and noticeable when looking at white backgrounds

Hi guys.
I'm a Note 4 user.
I love It, but using white background i find a little area in the low half screen not so white but white /pink.
Tilting the screen white is cold.
It's normally?
Erica Griffin in Note 4 Review spoke about this problem in her video.
Ps. Why "Reading Mode" is missing in Note 4?
Same here. I have seen a lot of N4 - an they all had a pinkish tint on white backgrounds. One more, one less.
Gesendet von meinem SM-T325 mit Tapatalk
So this is not a problem?
Of course this is a problem. But as I said before - this is the way nearly all the N4 screens I have seen look like. I fear you have to accept it.
Try changing screen mode
Adaptive or Cinema makes it bluer. But having half the screen colder like that isn't normal.
hello all,
yesterday i got my 6P. next to my XPERIA Z3C its very yellow. okay on this photo it looks extreme in reality its not so extreme. i write an email to the seller and they told me they know this problem and it will go away after about 1 week. can anyone confirm this?
** sorry for my bad english

If you select use sRGB in the developers options, it should fix it.
i already tried that but it turns always off on reboot. and i think normally it should work without using the sRGB function...
I'm not really sure then. I don't really notice it on mine if it is yellow.

I understand your frustration. I have a 6p and also a Z3 and when I first compared them the difference was obvious.
The problem is that that'll happen whenever you compare an LCD screen with an AMOLED screen, LCD will always have "whiter whites". The degree will vary depending on the model though.
Anyway, if I didn't also use my Z3 then I'm sure after a few days my eyes would've gotten used to the color calibration, but since I do use it, it was driving me absolutely crazy.
After some research I saw that the best solution to my problem was to install a custom kernel. It's a fairly easy process and there are several very stable kernels out there for the 6p. And with that you can tweak the screen color calibration. After this, I couldn't be happier, my whites actually look white and not yellowish
At least yours is uniform. I'm on my 2nd 6P and this one has uneven tint with the lower screen being yellow tinted and the upper seems normal and warm. Returned my first due to other issues.
From Tapatalk with love
I doubt it will go away within a week as the problem lies with the screen calibration... What i did was flash elementalx kernel and calibrated the screen. Now its much better.... Not as white as compared to my OPPO find 7 but way better then initial color...

This. I'm on muy eighth 6P because they've all had uneven yellow tinting to the display. I've gotten to a point now where I've realised that they're all going to have this problem, and I've just accepted that I'll stick with this one because replacing it could mean getting worse tint on the next one.

Yes this is what I'm afraid too. My first one had worse problems. Loose button which were rattling, imbalanced speakers and low volume output from 3.5 audio jack. I'm my country because we don't have Google Play Store for devices the replacement process is long and complicated. They agreed to exchange my first but they won't for a second unless it has a really serious problem. And yes I'm afraid I will get a way worse unit. At least the uneven tint is severe and I can live with it. Nexus and premium quality do not go together. Sure the 6P is better than previous Nexuses but it is also more expensive. I guess Samsung keeps the AAA quality AMOLED panels for themselves and sell to others the inferior ones. Before the 6P I had the S6 edge+ and the display and overall built quality was stellar. I just couldn't stand TouchWiz lag, the slow updates the nonexistent custom ROMs and the color shifting due to the edges. Google needs to improve QC of their Nexus. The 6P is a Russian roulette.

Im not sure we have any korean users on here but curious if the red tint rumor is real.
Apparantly also easyly solved by adjusting the red color strenght to half the value.
No product is 100% free from defects. They all have a 1% target to hit for defective units but of course it's sometimes higher. You get these stories with every new phone that's released, including iPhone. The percentage of people that actually have a real issue will be small. If it's defective in some way or not to your liking, it's easy to send it back.

I had this issue on 2 different S7e (both early and later production models) last year and it was not easily solved by adjustments. It took a full-blown device replacement so I wouldn't put too much hope in that.
yep its true. Happens more often then you think.
Some screens just have a tint to them. Most devices will let you change them in the settings.
One of my old phone had this problem but the screen was yellow. it effected a small amount of those phone and i had to send it back to get a good working one.
But we will see what happens when the s8 is launch and how many are effected.
I checked it out at Best Buy today. With all 3 colors maxed out it had a red hue so I turned down the red and it got better but still not 100% to my liking. Coming from the iPhone 6 Plus its display seemed brighter to me (could be due to the hue) than the s8+. The iphone7 plus was sorta the same to had a dark hue to it and definitely wasn't bright as my iPhone 6
I am wondering how strong that red tint is? Can you clearly see it? I am a bit paranoid when I read such stuff and always feel like I have said problem xD

Wow, on yours it definitely looks like the lower 2/3 of the screen has a red tint. If thats the case, and its not a uniform discoloration, i would say it would have to be impossible to adjust out because as you adjust to make the lower better, the upper is going to look worse.
I can see this on white background screens along the right edge. Not too noticable.

This phone better be perfect in my hands. I will be having the verizon guy show me a straight white background before I walk out of the store. That **** is NOT acceptable for an 800 dollar phone. And I would keep returning it until it is perfect.
Trust me its a lot more noticeable in person. The pic doesn't do justice. It's the whole screen for some reason the camera catches only 2/3. I will call TMO tomorrow see what the remedy is but I am not keeping the phone that's for sure. I use my phone a lot in bed and thats where the pink-red is very visible and when I have it laying on my desk. And no turning off the red color like Samsung suggest doesn't make any difference.
My midnight black S8+ is displaying perfect whites. No red tint here.

Yeah this isnt a new problem, just a QC problem with screen.
