[Q] nexus 2013 camera into 2012 model - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone have any insight as to weather a 2013 camera will just magically work if put into a 2012 ?
There have been a number of software updates to the 2012, and I'm wondering if the 2013 camera could be plug and play in the 2012.

How to plug&play 2013 camera into 2012 nexus 7?? Via MOD?? USB??

The 2012 has the connector internally, they just didn't add the camera

[Q] Does 4.3 bring Bluetooth LE for the Nexus 10?

From this thread,
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1j6cfe/bt_40_ble_support_was_planned_for_galaxy_nexus/
it appears last year's Nexus 7 and the Galaxy Nexus did not get Bluetooth LE updates. Does anyone know about the Nexus 10?
Yes.

I'm not sure if this is the case.
I just spent some time getting the SDK to tell me whether LE is supported. The steps how to do it are outlined here:
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/bluetooth-le.html
The code reports LE is *not* supported.
Also when going to the FAQ, it seems that only the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 2013 are supported. Go to the bottom of here:
https://support.google.com/nexus/10/answer/2819579?hl=en
So far all signs point to Nexus 10 *NOT* supporting Bluetooth LE.

can connect nexus7 to TV is not?

can connect nexus 7 to TV by usbmini port?
There is no video out on the Nexus 7.

Actually yes you can. The technology is called SlimPort, which is an adapter that plugs into the micro usb port. The SlimPort® SP1002 is for sale on Amazon.com.

Slimport won't work on the 2012 nexus7, but it will with the 2013 model.

And do you guys know what is the latest model type that any kind of retail store has for nexus 7 and also from google site?
Seems the most problem for nexus 7 is still coming from JSS15Q, am i right?

Its a wrong forum, but I've never had this multi touch problem on my 2013 n7, i guess it's a hardware problem, and yes jss15q is the latest!, you should do a replacement

It's not there on the 2012 N7 either. Oddly, it's there on the Nexus 10, though.

Also I just noticed the version of Google keyboard on Nexus 5 and 2013 Nexus 7 is different.... Also there is no option for Nexus 7 "Vibrate on Keypress" meanwhile Nexus 5 does have. I can't even uninstall it.

That's because neither Nexus 7 model has a vibrator.

aw....i just hate the sound it makes....lol. Any suggestions? Hoping we can get a work around for Tap & Pay feature... I was really looking forward to it..since the 4.4 update. I don't understand why Google can't make it open to any handset that has NFC capabilities? right? sigh... hehehe
Turn on NFC first, then the menu will show up.

Even after enabling NFC and wallet installed, Wallet doesn't show up in the tap & pay list. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Wallet.

It's working completely fine for me... All I can think of to recommend is a factory reset..

2013, running sideloaded OTA'd stock 4.4.
I'm stock rooted. I guess I'll try a factory reset, go from there.

Is the issue that the Tap & Pay menu doesn't appear in Settings or does the functionality not work? I have never used it but I just turned on NFC to check and once I do, tap&pay appears in settings. Wi-fi N7 here.

Tap & pay will only show up after NFC is enabled (Kit Kat only, NOT Jelly Bean for you n00bs out there).
However, even after I reverted to stock unrooted jelly bean, oem locked, sideloaded the update, & reinstalled Wallet....Wallet STILL does not show up in the Tap & Pay app list. So I don't know what else to do.

If i remember well, nexus 7 doesn't have the hardware to allow tap and pay... It's like we needed a secured NFC chip

The secure NFC chip isn't needed for tap and pay starting with KitKat. That's why they added it at the OS level.
Tap and Pay is indeed present on the 2013 Nexus 7. I just enabled NFC to confirm that the menu shows up in Settings and it does.
Tap and Pay is present that's correct but Wallet isn't there yet. More talk about it here
