I'm craving so badly... What do?
I'm tempted to pull out my S2 i9100 and start flashing random ROM's lol.
I am hoping that when I get the X this week, I'll be happy with everything it has and won't want to flash anything else. This phone is perfect as is. Repeat to yourself.

At this point, I'm happy with almost everything. Very smooth,
I came from my AHD_MAXX running CM10.2 options are nice, but it was still kinda buggy.

You just have to remember that it would probably be really difficult for any ROM to match what moto has done stock on this thing. Its a pretty good example of what optimized android is capable of.
Trying to make an odex stock ROM so the folks who are rooted can flash mods, I had fc's and a bootloop after installing some mods but it seems no one wants to do an updater script for us. I lack the knowledge to do a script, I have the system folder odex already so if any one can help, let me know

I'd just think the following:
If the phone came with a different ROM, let's say stock... or let's say Touchwiz-like: Then you start seeing a lot of custom ROMs to flash. One of them is like the one the MotoX comes with. Wouldn't you choose that one?
You just feel like flashing because you're used to it... but if the MotoX ROM didn't exist, these would probably be the features you'd be looking for on a modified ROM. That's why, don't forget, there's people now working on other phones, aiming to replicate what we already have as stock.

Yah I seen some threads already in regards to duplicating many of our gizmos ,good luck doing it. I want to keep the stock ROM as we can install xposed framework and mod the system and leave all the great goodies. Any custom Rom will not have touchless control etc

You never know, the touchless control is a market updatable app, not part of the Rom itself. I thing as long as the build prop is set properly it should work still.

My point being, there's a whole hardware aspect that supports this stuff. If it's about just simulating it, I've seen people do it with 4.3's dynamic notification service, and I've also seen people find a way to have Google Now listening for most of the time... but without the dedicated hw, it drains battery in no time.

Anyone else getting FCs when launching the web browser?
i hate sense, is there any way to kill it with froyo? i like the look of the stock ui better.
Only option is to download a 3rd party launcher like ADW or LauncherPro. Deleting the Sense launcher would cause a bunch of problems considering the framework depends on Rosie if I'm not mistaken.

I agree; the thread title is pretty clear as to the topic of discussion.
Loaded it on the wife's Slide. Download speeds from HTC were truly absurd; took 3 hours to get the necessary files. I flashed chiefz version of this when I was still using the Slide ... I found the leaked ROM to be sluggish compared to 2.1 stock; I've found the 2.2 official update to be virtually identical to chiefz version - a bit sluggish. I definitely like having the wireless "hotspot" on her un-rooted slide; helps to share our two 5gb data plans wirelessly. I tried to move a few large apps to sd (Froyo a2sd) and apps that should be able to be moved were not able to be moved and I'm unsure if that's due to not having root. HTC sync and bluetooth have turned on by themselves after I disabled them in settings ... very odd. My wife doesn't seem care one way or the other but I'm a root user so I have a different take on things. The bottom line is it keeps the system as it always has been and adds some useful features. It appears some bugs were fixed from the release notes but I have a suspicious feeling a whole new set of bugs may crop up. With all the time that has passed I believe HTC could have done a better job. Hoping the wife is is happy with it because I will never hear the end of it if she prefers the old stock ROM. Fingers crossed ...

This is just the beginning. It is a lightly modded stock rom. More mods will come in the future (working on: adding recovery and reboot to the power down options and a toggle mod for the systemui) Also will bring more themes to the mix and hopefully an OTA app for on the fly mods.
Features
Based on Acer_A500_7.014.14_COM_GEN1
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Rooted
Accurate battery mod
Themed Launcher, SytemUI, DeskClock, QuickSearch
ICS Font and Sounds added
More to come...
Please Wipe Data/Factory reset, and format system, data, cache, and flexrom. Once the slate is clean, flash in recovery.

Unfortunately, deving ICS is a little out out of my league ATM. Not sure what I could contribute to get the non-working features functioning. Until there is an official release or a completely working build, I will continue to get my Iconian feet wet on this ROM. Once we have a solid ice cream...it's on like donkey Kong. I just plan on building up the options so that when the transition comes...I will have some ammo.

Looks like a no go on GPS. Really make me wondered what is in Thor's ROM that make my GPS sing whereas GPS does not work or barely functional on ALL other ROMs.

that is so not true. i use flash everyday on my phone with embedded youtube videos on sites, watch the euro on my phone thanks to flash support and a lot of other stuff. Yup. I had a LOLApple moment a few days ago in a bagel place. My 4yo wanted to sit next to another ~4yo and his mom. After a few minutes, my 4yo asked if he could use my phone to play a game on the Nick Jr website. I gave him my phone. When the other 4yo saw this, he asked his mom to do the same with her iphone. Ruhtroh, Nick Jr is a flash site and so her iphone wouldn't load it.

Yeah I plan on keeping the One at least for a little while. Thinking bout going with the Dev Ed.(32gb and unlockable bootloader) since I will be paying full price anyways.
I'm thinking on giving up the Moto just because of Dev support and lock bootloaders. I'm still debating since I just got the Moto a couple of days ago. How is your experience with the ONE?

The Dev support is ok on the VZW One but not even close to other variants and Im unsure why Dont get me wrong, I love the One. Its probably the only device that I ran stock and really didnt mind. The build quality IMO is unmatched on an android device and the sound quality is not just loud its crystal clear. But I was in BB the other day and picked up the Moto X for the first time and my instant thought was, "WOW, this really does feel GREAT in my hand without sacraficing scren size!". Then I dug more into the features of the phone and came to the conclusion that it that these features arent just gimmicks like they were on the S3 and S4 when I had them. I wouold only by the Moto X if it were the Dev Ed. Not really for ROMs but for root(I needs my wifi tethering and Titanium Backup) ;0)
This makes my decision that much easier!!!

im in rehab at the mo
Hi my name's Jon and I'm a flashaholic. *audience says "hi Jon". Long time HTC user on Sprint. Originally started rooting on the OG evo 4g to remove excessive Sprint bloat. Went to evo 4g LTE and continued with my addiction. Switched to Nexus 5 and remained stock (go figure) because stock Nexus was perfect for my needs. Now have a Stump'd and Bump'd G3 and am dying to get some AOSP goodness flowing through this beast. Thanks to talented devs, that appears to be coming soon. In the meantime, I'll be here jonesing like a crackhead.

Haha. Now all I need is the flashaholic 12 stepper.
