Also the pic above is NOT edited its directly from the guys super cheap camera which watermarked it for him. ...
His camera is some Sony thing costing 200$ while 860$ (atleast when i got it) phone captures crap:banghead:
If the app is paid no problem ill buy it...

Had to thank you, because your post indeed was funny and you asked for it in your last line

Unless the OP is sarcastic, no mobile phone can match a P&S camera, let alone DSLR. Only Pureview had a good sensor, and was somewhat comparable to low end P&S compacts. But those photos you posted above are not a fair comparison. One is taken at low light, and the other under bright condition. Great Low light photos are still a dream of any users, including SLR users like me.
S4 camera is just above average, that's that.

As the comment before me stated...its not a fair comparison at all...due to the light difference...I take pretty decent shots on my s4 for instagram....I use Camera FV-5 ...which is pretty good

Sarcastic. ... yes little...now you see iphone 4 camera is better compared to s3 and 4s is better s4 NOW better means clarity in low light conditions. ... its also possible my phones faultly lol...
Oh yeah btw what's preferred 4:3 or 6:9 in camera settings

I like S4 camera..... Personal Images.

i have taken quite a few pictures with my i9500 at night and i can say that they are wayyyyyyyy better than the one u post ...
plus no phone can shoot very well at night ... and because u mentioned iphone4 i saw pictures taken from it ... and in my eyes at least they are not better in any way especially night shots ...
maybe your settings aren't right ... but in any way don't except something spectacular at least at night ...

I bought an apple but my friend has an orange that tastes a lot more orangy. Is there a way for me to make my apple taste more like orange, or even grapefruit?

I agree with sadeshmagic. I have a DSLR camera and a Galaxy s4. There is no way to compare a cell phone camera to a DSLR camera. About galaxies pictures, the photos that I took with the galaxy s3 were better. I use Camera FV-5 and it is a decent camera app and give me better photos. I also use Camera ZOOM FX, but I thing the FV-5 is better.

Best camera I have found so far for the GE edition is Focal from CM10.

Sell your S4 buy a proper camera and with the left over buy a cheaper phone. This is a phone not a DSLR camera. No phone will compare to a proper camera.

Lol. My Mercedes joke aside, s4's camera is very capable of taking great pictures in good lightning. I really love the HDR mode of the camera. Pic I took 3 days ago. I have increased the picture vibrancy.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Vs Nikon D5000 DSLR

Samsung Galaxy S3 Vs Nikon D5000 DSLR
Why?
I have a week off this week and while my fiancee is working, I thought I wpould charge my camera battery and have a practice. I am a really amateur photographer. By that I mean I own a nice DSLR (Upper Entry-level) and a couple of lenses but I've never really taken much time to get used to it. Today was a great oppurtunity.
Whilst I started taking snaps, i thought "Wouldn't it be cool if..." and here we are.
Disclaimer - Scientific conditions.
Mode:
Whilst I am only an amateur, I am familiar with my camera and its modes. Although I usually shoot in manual mode, adjusting the aperture and shutter speed as I see fit, for a reasonable degree of accuracy, I decided to use Auto mode. This is also what I used on the SGS 3.
Where as I tried to maintain Automode, I did slip into landscape mode a couple of times on the DSLR. Unfortunately I do not recollect which images were taken in each mode. It was mostly Auto though.
Zoom:
I stuck to my 18-55mm lens on the Nikon and used digital zoom on the SGS3. Although these can never be compared, as this is more a "look what the SGS3 can do" thing, I didn't think that should matter.
MegaPixels:
I set both top their top resolution. The DSLR is 12MP so obviously the detail is better when shown on a huge billboard. On a screen which is smaller than that, it shouldn't be noticable. remember, a HD display (1920x1080) is less than 2.1MP
Galaxy Resolution - 3264×2448 pixels
D5000 Resolution - 4310×2868 pixels
Image format:
The SGS3 takes images in .JPG format by standard. The DSLR took them in .NEF (Nikon RAW) and was converted afterwards. Converting RAW to .JPG on a computer (I used UFraw command line tool on Linux) gives a little bit better quality than letting the camera save as .JPG directly
Conclusions
Obviously this test was just for fun and was never intended to show that the SGS3 would be better than an upper entry level DSLR which even now, 3 years after release, can cost upwards of £500 GBP with a basic 18-55MM lens. Well guess what?! It's not better than the DSLR but hey, we never expected it to be.
What you can tell from the images is that where some of the DSLR images were a bit dark in auto mode, the SGS3 had some nice and bright shots. You can clearly see the difference in quality on some shots, but in others, not so much. I was very surprised at how well the SGS3 took pictures and how nice some of them did look, even compared to the superior DSLR, some of the pcitures the SGS3 took looked nicer, if not better.
Slightly related, but the experience of previewing the image taken was MUCH more enjoyable on the SGS3 with its bright and vibrant screen. You can instantly tell if the image will come out blurry or not, which with the DSLR was really tricky. You cna onyl really check if the photo is framed as you expected.
All in all, the SGS3 is a fantastic little camera. It may not be able to keep up with the big boys but it was never intended to. I would never be disappointed whipping it out of my pocket to capture an "of the moment" photograph. I am very impressed.
Further diclaimer
As mentioned, I am not a photographer. I am sure there are others out there who can do much better than I did with both devices. Remember this is just for fun.
I haven't scientifically analysed the outputs of both devices and used any software or anythign like that. If anyone is into that, please feel free to post results here. I would definitely be interested. All I have done, is used my eyes.
The Images
Each photo tells you if its SGS3 or Nikon from the properties but essentially, the first image is always the SGS3, the second is always the D5000

I think it's good. I'd love to see comparison results!
I think it's a Inovative idea to Compare s3 and slr but really a daft comparison
The whole point of an slr is control, and whether Full frame or cropped and the list goes on. Quality of sensor.
As much as the s3 has a reasonable lens it is no comparison to a good slr or even a simple slr.
I've been am-tog for over 25yrs from good old 110 days, 35mm film, med format and digital.

It is a daft comparison. The real aim was to show by removing the element of control, given that the lens and sensor are not of the same quality, the s3 really isn't that bad at all.

[REQUEST] Real world photos

I'm toying with the idea of getting one of these cameras, maybe it's a bit too soon to ask but, can some of you with the camera, post some photos you've taken with it, real world photos from actual owners and not just press shots.
Not really fussed if you've used the built in apps for editing the images you post, as it will just add to the "things you can do with this device" I just want to get the opinions from actual users who have spent their hard earned cash on it and get their points of view about their experience with it, what the performance is like, how good/poor is the daily use image quality of the camera like, whether you think it was worth the £399 etc... etc....
TIA.

I've bought the camera on the very first day of availability, 7th November, directly in London's Samsung flagship store at 5pm when the boxes were brought in I might be the first to have bought the camera officially...
However, on my Flickr account I've collected some pictures that I've made since then.
The lens is amazing, the CMOS chip not so, zooming into pictures details become just a mess of pixels. Or should I say mash?
But it's just a point-and-shooter and it does very good pictures at low light. Unless you don't zoom in too much, that is.

That's your decision... but both of them are not comparable to the Galaxy Camera in my opinion as they don't come with Android/touchscreen/3G.
I think only somebody who really wants those features will buy the Galaxy not because of its picture quality, which is good but far from perfect.

Suggest people use flickr so we can see the settings used. tapatalk is useless at understanding how the camera works.
if you cannot do that then mention iso, shutter speed & scn mode (if any). This will get you looking at these parameters and help to understand why shots don't turn out as expected or how to get better ones.

Is anyone else finding the shutter lag really bad on this phone? After I press the capture button it seems like it freezes the frame and takes a photo, but then clearly continues the exposure for another half second or so before finalizing, meaning if you move the camera it goes into blursville.
In general it seems pretty bad at capturing anything in motion (and I mean mild motion, not requiring sports mode).
I'm really stunned as to how Sony can have allowed such a flawed camera onto a flagship device. In ideal conditions like sunlight etc it takes AMAZING photos, pretty much digicam quality... but you almost need a tripod to get a clear shot in lower light conditions. It's a bit of a bummer for a device which is in every other respect awesome.

Dear all,
Would you mind checking the manufacturing date of your Z1C and share?
I wrote in a different thread:
I bought the device and I was very disappointed with the camera. I tried different modes and settings and in all of them the same photos I took with the galaxy S2 were significantly better (more focused, less noise, more vivid colors, more details in crops..) ! (regular scenes/light conditions).
In addition I have the flash leakage problem..
Also the camera looses focus during video capture..
...
I think maybe the first manufacturing line has these problems which are also reported online, could you kindly check the manufacturing date of your device?
Mine is Oct, 2013 (black version)
Thanks !!

I'm also a bit disappointed by the camera to be honest. My previous phone was the galaxy S2. In my opinion the camera performs pretty bad under low lightning (manual mode, no settings touched) and also not really special under normal conditions. Maybe I just suck at photographing.
I don't have any flash leakage problem though.

Quick question for others about cam that have tried. How are your pics in gallery zoomed in? Mine seems to be blotchy, almost impressionistic when zooming in on taken shots, I thought there was an effect on at first. Worried at the moment as have tested in various light settings. Will post when i get a chance
Edit: seems to be a "raising of expectations" effect. I will test tomorrow in better light. Compared to my note 2 it is winning out by far in low light, which was my test at first
Slesh, have you moved on to the s5? My biggest complaint on the note 2 is the low light capabilities. I'll be interested to hear how this pans out with the camera. I've been due an upgrade for months but just haven't been won over really with any of the new releases..

last night did side by sides with Note 2 and s5 in low light, S5 blew it out of the water. At first I was upset at clarity of s5 in a certain lighting, then tried Note 2 in same scene and saw it was pitch black in that area by comparison. Was like a night vision difference. There still seems however to be a blotchiness/effect it seems going on in pics when I zoom in on the the pics. But it might just be me

Hi folks, heading out today to get an LG G6 to replace a Note 4. I've really enjoyed the note 4's camera, still takes excellent shots.
Is the LG G6 camera setup a whole lot better? A lot better? A bit better? l'm sure someone out there knows

I had the Note 4, which yes had a great camera, that being said, for me, the G6 is appreciably better IQ wise, especially in lower light, F1.8 really helps. See the attached photo at 1200 iso which I think is really impressive and way beyond what the Note 4 would have achieved IQ wise at 1200 iso. And another more normal photo with great detail. That's my 5 cents, hope it helps.

Very nice! I'm a sucker for flower and pet pictures- Love shooting 'em around the house :highfive:
These were from my old note 4, but will have the LG G6 tomorrow.
Caught me a bee at work in the first one. The closeup shot you got was really sharp and good looking.
I love it for the most part. The wide angle sucks if you're taking landscape shots. Stupidly panorama can't be done with the camera IMO the correct orientation. It has to be held up and down. Can't hold phone side ways. That's my only gripe honestly.
With a clip on macro lens
the wide angle is actually fine, one must remember its getting almost double the scene with the same 13 mp hence the photos looking softer (less detail), take your P&S camera and take a photo at 45/50mm and then zoom out to 24mm while standing at the same place and take another photo then look at each at 100% you'll see exactly the same thing, same amount of megapixels covering a lot more info...
Hi
I got a new LG G 6 4 days back.
The picture quality is pathetic. Its blurry and pixelated 99.99% pictures clicked in all conditions are going wrong, day light, artificial, auto manual, dual cam, single cam.
any idea what is wrong.
I have read many reviews and videos and am sure that pic quality is bound to be better but unable to figure out.
Currntly using PIXEL XL and iphone 6s.

There is something wrong with your G6 if that is the case.
