Just wanted to ask if this is true or not, that even though my s4 is not rooted I can install custom roms without rooting my device is this true?

I have an s4 i9505 and am contemplating rooting the device, I had my s3 rooted and custom rommed and would just like some advice cause I am soooo scared of voiding the warranty.
Maybe letting me know the ins and outs, so if I wanted to root and put cwm on my phone to get some custom apps such as bm sound, But I didnt apply a custom rom, would this void my warranty??
Any help would be great peeps

Hi,
Custom ROM and custom recovery will void the warranty.
You could use THIS ROM
It gives you root, but keeps the phone "Official"
Worth looking into.
I haven't used an Android device for over a year now and i'm back to square one.
I'm just wondering if the only possible way of bricking your galaxy s4 is basically installing the incorrect ROM for your device. What is some other ways? I just want to try and avoid those ways before I actually root my S4.
I might be installing CM10 Nightly onto my S4 but if I wanted to go back to stock TW could I just use Kies to install the stock firmware? Instead of Odin because I heard it triggers some kind of binary counter?
Thanks!
EDIT: Does it matter if I'm on MF3 firmware on my S4?
Nevermind just figured out there is no custom recovery.
There is no custom recoveries on MF3.

I recently sidelined my Galaxy Note 2 for a Galaxy S4 and I'm running into a stability issue with the TWRP and CWM recoveries. It seems no matter what rom I use, Stock or Custom, AOSP or TouchWiz, once I flash a custom recovery and then install any custom rom - I can no longer access the custom recovery unless I reinstall it. In short every new rom I flash requires me to reflash, or install, the custom recovery again in order to access it. "Now I didn't go to math school, so I'm not going to do the math," but this wasn't an issue on the Galaxy Note 2 - so I 'm wondering if I may have missed something when I initially rooted the S4, or if there is some other issue I've overlooked. If anyone has any suggestions please speak up - I would be forever grateful for the help!
This is really weird. I haven't heard of someone having this issue on the gs4.
I'm curious as to why it does this.
BTW have you tried philz touch recovery, and see if it still does this.

Is there a stock debloated pre rooted 4.4 for i9505?
so i have been staying updated with the new kitkat roll out for the s4, i have a UK i9505 lte, i have seen the odin flashable file for a few country's so far, i was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to a clean deboated rom. i am currently running stock 4.2.2 UK rom rooted with a clockwork mod based recovery. unfortunately i have knox and its been tripped 0 x 1. if that makes a differance.
i have searched the development section but could not seem to find a debloated offcial kitkat rom, i would attempt making one. myself but i find the s4 much more confusing compared to the flashing process which came with my previous s2, and dont want to risk bricking my s4.
thanks in advance.
kind regards

There's a few out there, I recommend the below if you want stock, pre-rooted, debloated (customisable by you), without the Knox stuff (might not matter so much to you as you've already tripped it, but shouldn't matter).

thanks for your reply, i did see this, but i can read many users finding little bugs here and there, and i really was looking for a very reliable clean rom, with jjust minimum mods, il give this a try if there is no other clean stock kitkat released, or i may just flash the official with Odin and manually root and clean it up.

Any issues are usually caused by not doing a clean install. There are the odd couple of things that seem to be caused by having the old (pre-knox) boot loader, but they will be fixed sooner or later. Again you should be fine if your already on the new boot loader anyway. Any problems just say, plenty of support and advice from the dev and users.

I am buying a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on Monday. I know it will come with a KNOX-enabled bootloader. My question is, I know flashing a custom ROM onto the device will void the KNOX warranty. But will I be able to switch from Touchwiz stock rooted to… lets say, CM11? If so, would downgrading CM11 to CM10 require an older bootloader (pre-KNOX)? Will custom recoveries such as PhilZ work with the latest bootloader?
Sprint bootloaders are not locked like ATT and Verizon. And Knox doesn't affect the installation of any custom Roms.
