Okay since I'm on the road for vacation I'm just gonna post this here for now. These are builds that I am doing just because I enjoy doing them. I will build as often as I can and fix what I can. This thread will be for general discussion of the ROM. As I am not a PAC team dev requests will not really be taken into consideration as I don't have the ability to push to repo. But if it is something that we really need or needs to be addressed post it and will see what I can do.
Builds.

Nice to see pacman up and running. I have been working on a build myself but you beat me to it.lol
Very nice, 2908 build for N800 runs like a dream so far. Only issue found is camera being broken. Thank you OP
I'm having issues setting themes through theme engine.
I've had a Google and found posts advising to set to 160 in pa, still won't let me set any...
Any ideas?
thanks.

Not 160, thats the default that the rom comes with. Open hybrid settings/ tools and check expert mode. Then go to interface and set all sliders to 140dpi. That will do the trick for you, I promise .

broken
GPS doesn't work at all.
android keyboard crashes when swiping.
having problems connecting to computer - windows sees the connection, but no drives are available.
other than that, works pretty great. better than the 4.2 PAC build I was using. but as long as GPS doesn't work I'm going to have to stay away from this one since I use my tablet for navigation.

Thanks for the Theme fix advice Nick, worked a treat.
Took me a minute to get her all booted up on the latest build, Had to delete the build check in the Zip as it wasn't letting it Flash.
And I have to say really nice
Not used camera or GPS so not noticed the issue, will test later tonight.
Also, I know its probably a bit early to ask but they have ironed out all the IR issues over at the CM10.2 on the M7 (not included it in nightlies yet as needs a bit of a clean up, but working never the less) so they've ported this over to PAC 4.3
I assume IR not yet working on ours? I know its cross device but is there any help to be gained from them fixing this? I can always ask around.
Just trying to help, love the Build nice to have PAC on my tab as well as my phone again

Yes once cm merges the fixes PAC will get them as it syncs with cm before each build.

So it's probably best to wait while this bakes in the oven a bit longer? Which is ok, I won't be able to get my GN10.1 for another week so I can keep up until then.

That's .... weird. I tried it with Sygic originally, when that didn't work I tested it with a couple different GPS apps. None of them worked. Google maps gets my location from wifi, but not GPS.
When I get home I'll try doing a complete wipe again and reinstalling. Hopefuly it's just something I screwed up.
Thanks for the heads up!

Ok, so it seems I was wrong. I didn't even have to reflash - just turned GPS off and back on, and it started working. Weird.
Anyway, thanks for an awesome rom! The performance is fantastic, battery life seems great after a bit of tweaking, and the new features in Android 4.3 are awesome. I've been trying to find a way to limit app permissions for ages, and now we finally have it. You rock!

Just found out Drewgaren released Beta 1 for NS4G too.
Original Post:http://drewgaren.com/DrewGaren.com/ICS/Entries/2011/11/28_ICS_AOSP_BETA_1_-_Nexus_S_3g_and_4g.html
ICS IS HERE AND IT’S GETTING BETTER EVERY SECOND...I have moved to Beta because this build is so stable and nearly everything is fixed.
NOTE: I Do Not Take Responsibility For Anything You Do To Your Phone, I’m Just Trying To Bring Some Love To Crespo Devices.
This roms are stable enough to use as daily drivers
AOSP ICS BETA 1:
Description: I am no longer using the on screen button version build because it not necessary on a smaller screen device such as a Nexus S. This build contains zipaigned and optimized apps along with the ICS_MR0 build. The build fingerprint is aosp along with the full build, and is ICS_MR0 crespo so you will not run into any trouble downloading applications. Most GAPPS will also be upgradeable as well. This build is not tweaked out to the max, there or some slight mods with init.d scripts and build.prop mods but for the most part this build is full aosp with a few modifications to get it running on crespo devices and just work a bit better. In the future I will add more tweaks.
Beta 1 Change log 9:04 PM EST:
Near Perfect Build
Fixed Tethering and Wifi Spot
Fixed Data Usage Meter
Fixed Camcorder
Updated Most Gapps
USB may automatically mount in Windows
Status Bar Wifi Icon Fixed
3G Version Uses Franco Kernel, 4G Uses Matrix 11.5
Built Off Of ICS_MR0 AOSP
Fully Zipaligned
Some Apps Optimized
Removed Videos From System/Media because it takes up space
Removed Sugar Sync
Init.d Scripts
Ads Blocks
Google Talk Video Over 3G Enabled and Working Great
Gapps updatable on Market
Current Build Issues:
Camera effects works on the front camera, however you may receive force closes.

Get real, this IS the oICS ROM... Do you not realize who we're talking about here?? This is just more typical Kang-Bang...
The thing is, if you want to use someone elses work, all you have to do is say so, & give them some credit.
He did the same thing with my DX ROM, Shuji ROM. He took it, added a theme & a few apps & called it Genesis DX, he finally credited me in his post after enough people called him on it. He did the same with Apex, BigXie called him on it, people raised hell, & he blamed it on a mysteriuos guy named SpaceGhost, & said that it was all his fault.
Don't you find it funny that he had NS4G build until aosp posted a fully functional port, then BAM it appears on his forum???

Unfortunately, deving ICS is a little out out of my league ATM. Not sure what I could contribute to get the non-working features functioning. Until there is an official release or a completely working build, I will continue to get my Iconian feet wet on this ROM. Once we have a solid ice cream...it's on like donkey Kong. I just plan on building up the options so that when the transition comes...I will have some ammo.

I am a little saddened. I just learned that MIUI is no longer supporting the Vibrant. Of course we have some ports like WeUI but its not coming from MIUI themselves anymore See I have this bad habbit of needing to bounce around ROMS (can anyone relate or am i just weird?) and now I have learned that me first love is no longer available for me to bounce to? This is tragic. I suppose I cannot Blame MIUI because this is a legacy device, but the issue is I still don't have anything newer I want the GS3 but it costs a pretty penny. Anyways, all I wanted to do was vent and that is what I just did. Thanks for listening.
Miui (GB) was a great rom. Ran pretty much every version from start to end... A total of six months or so... Here's a link to my Miui guide, since I figured it might interest an avid Miui lover as yourself... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307637
The ports are amazing.
WEUI dropped support, too.
Use the Miui v4 by Jrongi.
Been running it for about2 months. Its amazingly fast
My fear is this. That gps won't work 720 video recording won't work and other core pieces of functionality won't work.

The GPS, well thats a hardware problem for most, so I can't say I know a perm. fix for it.
The 720 video recording is dependent on your Kernel. Devil kernel has this fixed, and if you flash SubZero, you'll get a add-on flashable fix that fixes this.
Pretty much everything works right now.
Just go with CM. Huge team supporting you and much better software.
Well I am on CM9 and 720 works with glitch kernel and my GPS works if I turn it on and reboot and then I get a good lock. Does this work on the MIUI you use ?

Well I am no amateur user. Name a ROM and I bet you i have used it. I am on CM9 now , but as amazing as this rom and dev is, it doesn't have the elegance if MIUI.

If you like and want miui 4.0, you just need to download the MIUI Scotland V4 for i9000, then change some files to make it work on your vibrant.

... Or like xriderx66 mentioned above, he (or anyone interested) could try Jrongi's Miui v4 port. It can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552241. There's really no need to go through all the work of porting the i9000 version when Jrongi already has a well working port openly available.

That's always a hit and miss.
Some peoples GPS works, some doesn't.
I, personally, do not trust my phones GPS after it almost got me into a car accident once, So i went and bought a good GPS.
Just nandroid backup your CM9, and then try out MIUI. Try it for a day or two, (it takes a while to settle in) and test out GPS for yourself, and see if you want to go back to CM9. Easy as that. I move between MIUI, TouchwizICS, and AOKP throughout the day using nandroids
Thanks guys! I'll try it!

No. Just stop. SDK ports are useless.

suck it
Some of us work on new and exciting things and others just sit around and whine about what they want - this is useful. Throughout the process of doing this I've learned a lot about what I will need to do to make it work from source when it drops. So go lurk somewhere else if it doesn't interest you.

Are you serious, have you not heard of an SDK port?
Lol I know why wifi and audio and storage don't work haha correcting it now.
The kernel is unmodified? You didnt have to modify init.rc etc?

kernel is unmodified init.rc needed modifications init.traces needed to be placed in the ramdisk as well and toolbox seems to be broken and needed to be replaced with the ics version.

Tomorrow I'll try and get wifi working I have made a dozen builds since last posted firmware audio is just missing libs storage needs a few fixes but I know where
Pretty sure I know what's causing my wifi issue should be a simple hex edit to lib hardware legacy

Just a quick thing, I love CM10 Preview! So far after using it for 30 minutes, it works fine. If you have CM10 Preview or Nightly, put your mini reviews on this thread!

I love my cm10. Its snappy and the new little things that are added to jellybean make it worth it to me.

I wish it was a bit more stable but hey, whatcha gonna do lol. I went back to CyanogenMod 9.1 because I got sick of the bugs (I'm a perfectionist and I like everything working)
Sad that I had to go back to FC09, but otherwise its great!
Is there a page that breaks down what the nightlies have resolved? I have been flashing for over a week now and several issues are still there. Not that I expect them to fix them all instantly, but just to let them know what they are in a noncomplainy way. It is a great ROM, way smoother than CM9 was for me.

???????? CM9.1 has way more broken things in it (whether you want to call them "bugs" or not is up to you) than CM10. Did you mean you were going back to CM7?

Yeah, ummmmm... I THINK I'm in that thread. All 67 (so far) pages of it. Hoping someday I'll find it. Thank you.
Been running the 9/11 nightly and loving it. So smooth!

CM10 is vast improvement over CM9!!!!!!!!
CM10 is fast, responsive and smooth! It is like owning a totally new phone!
It feels like ICS was vista and JB is like Windows 7!
^^^THIS^^^
Indeed and CM7 is like XP. Old faithful and hard to get rid of.

I had issues with CM9. I can't remember all of them but I only used it fro a couple of weeks and switched away. When I installed CM10 unofficial alpha 5 I (I think it was) I was in love. I have run it for 3 weeks and love it. GPS took forever to lock but that was my only complaint. I installed the latest CM10 tonight that has the CM boot animation and I assume CM's own tweaks instead of being stock JB and they switched one thing that will drive me crazy. They have the touchkeys backlight turning off after 5 seconds or something like that. I really want them on any time the screen is on. If they allow me to change that I will be a happy man.
That's the way the lites work on stock. out after no activity for 5 secs.

The Official CM10 nightlies have been great for me until the first 0918, could not flash. Flashed 0918.1 just fine, but lost modem after 5 hours. Running CM10 nightlies, stock modem fc09.
Very grateful for the time and dedication that all the developers put forth to provide a fun and current phone for us.

Umm, the changelog is in the very first post of that thread. It's not that hard to find.

Yes, I realized that while I was looking. Unfortunately the changelog makes very little sense to the end user.
