Honestly Idk what happened to this phone. It was just given to me because it was broken. Now I want to give this phone to my dad because he has been using the iPhone 3 forever. So the phone won't turn on so I plugged it in. The only thing it has done was a red light blink just 1 blink when I plugged my charger in. So what can I do to fix this. What is wrong?

How long did it take for your light to go out? My defy has been showing a dull red glow now for just over a week, and that's regardless of weather our not the phone is on or off, when the phone is powered down the dull red glow is still there.
the only way to stop it is to remove the battery.

Coming from HTC Evo 3D, i've grown to love the LED notification showing red whenever the phone is being charge, and so far the only disappointment with my Nexus device is, that there's no idication from the LED wether the phone is being charged or if it's fully charged. I am simply wondering if it's possible to add that feature with a little application? If someone has done it before, could they please assist me.

Light Flow is great... however is there any way to enable the LED while the phone is OFF and charging? Is that a purely hardware thing or does the kernel or bootloader come into play

Yeah, brick your phone and the LED will blink red when off.

I use Charging LED
Yep, I woke up to a completely unresponsive nexus 4. Tried charging it and nothing happens. Also tried holding the power button, using the bootloader, but nothing will make this phone turn on.
Noticed just a little while ago that the lense for the camera and flash have collected moisture inside. Could running the phone on battery until it ran out of power create moisture in the phone?
Sounds kinda crazy, but it's the only thing I can think of. There is no other reason why the phone would have moisture on the inside. It wasn't raining, nothing in my apartment is wet, and neither is the outside of the phone.
Was using stock rooted with matrix 2.0 kernel.
Update:
The moisture inside dried out so I tried powering the phone on and again it did nothing. Then I plugged it in and the led indicator turned solid red.
I didn't know what that meant so I called tech support and that guy was even more clueless than I was. He hasn't even heard of the blinking red led that some people from this forum got after running antutu overclocked, but at least they can return to stock and relock the bootloader.
He said I could get it replaced, but idk if they're gonna give me grief over being unlocked and rooted.
Update 2:
Now the red led no longer lights up when charging. The phone powers on and everything functions except the screen. Even the buzzing from the ear speaker is there like it was when the screen functioned.
I powered it down now in hope that it will work later tonight.
Does anyone have an idea of what could have caused this?
Sent from my LG-P920 using xda app-developers app
Oh man sorry to hear and see that. Maybe something burnt out inside and the smoke couldn't escape causing condensation? I dunno, but hope it gets sorted out..
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
There is a similar problem with nexus 7 running android 4.2 .. What that required for correction was holding the power button for 30 or more seconds .. I repeat 30 or more seconds and not mere 5 or 10 seconds . that trick worked for me .. Just give it a try
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I already tried that. For now I think I'll have to just let it dry.
I would still like to know why only the inside of the phone has moisture and nothing else.

Thanks for the wishful thinking, but I don't know how I'm gonna get it replaced if I can't return to stock and lock the bootloader.

If it isn't even turning on that might not even be a problem how would they know if rooted
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
True. I say you put it in an airtight container with some dessicant and see if that helps the moisture. If not, give it a shot and send it back. Sorry to see that happened to a brand new phone.

I don't think so, it's just me and my girlfriend here and we were both sleeping. I don't think that would harm the phone either. Anyway, the outside of the phone was completely dry the whole time. No other areas are affected.
The phone I'm using now is an lg thrill and it's been through rain, snow, left outside and it still works. I don't understand why the n4 would do this just by sitting next to my bed.

Santa Claus came early
In all seriousness, did you take it in a moist room like your bathroom? Or outside on a rainy day?
what about the bag o' rice trick?
Humidifier running? Was it on the night stand maybe next to a cold drink that could've had some condensation? Was the room exceptionally cold (maybe that combined with the warmth of the phone caused the condensation?)?
Really weird. Hope you get it sorted. Chances are though, if it shut off because of the condensation, it probably burnt something out. Generally, if it's off and gets wet, you have a better chance of it surviving than when it gets wet and shuts off.
Could it be a battery leak?

Nope, it was dry in my pocket all day. I even got good battery life at
4hr screen on and ~14hr total. I left it unplugged next to my bed with nothing next to it to see how much longer it would last.

It was on the night stand, but nothing liquid was nearby. And my room is always at a constant temperature. Neve had any problems b4 with condensation.
It did have a low battery when I went to sleep and I left it to see what kind of battery drain it would have by morning. I thought only the battery was dead at first, but it's been on the charger now for about 15 min now with the solid red led.

It would be my guess too that the battery is leaking and just RMA it. As it doesn't power up they will never know you rooted it and they will most likely just trash it.
OP updated.

I have another question, did you take pictures or work with your Nexus 4 in the loud area? I mean some place such as clubs or etc
I'm on T-Mobile D801 and I notice that if I'm using my phone, while charging, my charging notification light doesn't come on.
But as soon as I close my case, it comes on.
Is this normal for this phone.

Happens on AT&T as well. Presumable because one could look at the status bar and see that the charging battery icon is animating.
Personally, I would be annoyed if the LED continued to glow for anything when I am using my phone.
