TopContacts - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Has anyone used this app? I've been using it since it replaced Life Contacts Beta (a year or two ago), but today, it stopped working, and I can't find it on play store anymore.
I'm running GoldenEye ROM, and it was working for a solid month on it before today. I tried removing and replacing the widget, but no luck.
I'll also take suggestions for replacements, barring a fix.
Thanks!

I finally got it to work again after uninstalling and reinstalling twice. It seems to happen after I change batteries, but before this time, I could just delete the widget and re-add it.

Market apps not installing

I had two updatede apps today. They downloaded fine but won't install. Don't know if it's a Market issue or something with my device. Any ideas?

Ok. New apps will download and install but still have the issue with updating apps.

Usually an uninstall and then reinstall fixes apps that don't update.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
Tried that. Also cleared Market cache and data. Done several reboots.

Read in another thread that it could be an issue with Google servers. Has anyone heard anything?

It is a google problem, the same thing is happening on the hero Just wait for them to fix is probably the only thing we can do right now
Same thing has been happening to me. I have just been clicking the update and then immediately clicking on the name of the app I just downloaded and watching the download and install meter and it works for me everytime.

The issue was with apps on the memory card. Had to move them to phone memory, update, then move them back to the card. Annoying.

Moving apps back and forth isn't working today for updates.

Could Google have made changes to the Market ahead of Gingerbread?

Possible, maybe why they're having market issues
Not sure it's the Market now. Since I couldn't get Angry Birds to updated I tried getting it at GetJar. That wouldn't install either.
Sent from my rooted DROID2 using XDA App
Ok. Completely lost. ROM Manager successfully updated but Angry Birds still won't.

I'm having almost the same issues. It started yesterday when I accidentally unistalled the wrong app. When I went on to market to re-download it and found it sat in the ongoing downloads going nowhere along with several others. I cancelled them and started them again one by one. They all downloaded and then failed to install. After that they all appeared in the downloads list but say "FREE" next to them instead of "Installed".
I know that, apart form the first app, all of them are definitely installed. Rebooting the phone made no difference. I also removed the memory card to see if that helped. At that point I managed to install the first app.
I put the SD card back in and the problem returned. Most of the apps I have installed on the SD card only appear in my downloads list intermitently, and I still can't install or update anything from the market with the SD card in the phone. I also am having issues re-installing backups and non-market apk's.
Have I done anything to the phone to make it do this or is this a Google issue? I'm using a rooted T-Mobile UK desire on stock 2.2 with ModInstallLocation set to external.
Thanks for any help or advice.
I also get Free instead of Installed.

And now new apps won't install.

Ok. Was able to update apps and install one new app. Still can't get other apps to install. At this point I'm open to crazy possibilities.

It's still the server issues, until Anroid 2.3 is out this will probably be a problem
I hope I don't have to wait for 2.3 given how long it takes Verizon to release an update.

Not able to access websites??

Ok every once in awhile I try to access a website...it starts to go there then it immediately goes to the home screen ...
Why would this do this.
Like today organicdeals.com just happen to be the one. I tried in all browsers. Mirin, dolphin, explorer...
Why before the page completely loads would it do this?
I tried a different phone no problem. These are regular websites...nothing bad

well after a conference call with motorola and att. Did hard reset, neither knew what was the problem, so I have to go exchange it. Last day to do so.
UGH to set it up again......
Google saves your apps now and contacts so there shouldn't be too much to setup at least :/

yea happened to me with the bfbc3 website

Everything keeps foreclosing!

Hi guys i've been noticing since last night that my home screen keeps foreclosing on me and whenever a message comes in it comes in slow. At first I thought it was my launcherpro acting so I decided to go back using the stock launcher but then the foreclosings kept occurring and even when opening Apps it would seem slow to open them. Can anyone help or tell me how to fix this? Thanks
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I'm really sorry, but I couldn't help this...
Blame the bad economy if you're foreclosing!
Lol nice one
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Whenever i get forces closes i usually solve it by clearing the data in the app manager or uninstalling and reinstalling.
Are you using a stock rom?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Are you using stock ROM or custom?
Try reflashing the custom ROM if you are. Remember to wipe data / cache / dalvik. This usually solves most problem
My phone is not rooted its stock everything
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Also when I flip through my home screens the contact is very delayed
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Did the forcecloses start after you installed launcherpro?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Ive had launcher pro for about 2 months and it would fore close once in a while but nothing too bad. I uninstalled the app and it then the stock launcher started foreclosing on me
I think one of the system file is messed up. I'm not sure though. Maybe you can try to unroot it and flash a stock rom (or hell, just go with a custom rom) to see if it's fixed.
I ended up doing a factory reset on my phone and everything is back to normal thanks for the help guys

usually FC are cured by fixing permissions.

I don't think you told anyone if you are rooted or not? I'm curious
I mentioned that I was not rooted and everything was stock

On a good note I noticed after doing the factory reset my battery life has improved greatly

Can't find "my library widget", I may have accidently deleted it.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
It's called 'Play - My library'
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Is there a way to modify/edit what's shown in the library?
Give it some time, it should automatically come back. I know it sounds silly, but i replaced my apk with an older one (thought my market may have been borked), then realised those widgets disappeared along with it.
Finally, i downloaded the jellybean playstore and after a day or two the widgets came back.
Can't find play-my library.
How do I get the play-my library back? It's gone..

Android.process.acore

If I edit my contacts I keep getting an error message stating this process has stopped. Android.process.acore

Here is a list of what apps I yanked. Any help would be appreciated if someone else has experienced this.

I have gotten this once or twice that I can remember. Not sure what it was related to as I have never edited my contacts. I have done dpi changes and if I remember correctly I got that error upon rebooting.
Haven't had it in some time tho.

I has this when I first got the phone and did some digging. I think it has to do with the Google sync. The s4 folks ran into it too. I solved my problem by switching to my contacts on a different account.
Some have fixed it by unsyncing contacts then clearing the contacts data. I just tried it. No luck

I recently installed advanced task killer. I am thinking that had something to do with it.
But my Google sync is registering as having an error.

ATK isn't causing it. I had the issue before installing it and, after switching syncs, installed at and haven't seen it since. Look it up on giggle. The s4 folks had it
So essentially I can't use my Google contacts sync?
