This has been accidentally installed (Chainfire3D) on my Rooted SGS4 AT&T 1337 MF3 - Now it is stuck on boot. Anyway to remove it?
Thanks in advance.
One would have to go through the process of clicking yes a few times and starting/setting up the app after installing. This doesn't sound like a full blown accident unless you had no idea what it does. The only way to remove it is through adb.

Yea, that's a hell of an accident. Sounds like the worst case of suicide I ever saw. Guy shot himself 6 times in the chest with a shot gun. And the shot gun only held 2 shells.

To be honest, I saw the reviews and didn't even think if the app was compatible for the SGS4. Stupid move... I know! Any idea how to do the adb thing. Is there a windows app?

You're going to want to delete the chainfire apk (I don't know it's exact file name) from /system/app.
There is also drivers from it that need to be deleted. Google will tell you.

Did you have enable usb debug checked in the developer options on your phone. If not adb it's not going to work.
That is only to access adb while in the OS if I am not mistaken. Download mode and recovery are not part of he OS and therefore do not need debugging turned on.

If it was... I would have already been done.
Well I figured you wee trying everything possible before resorting to that.
There are 2 methods to get into recovery.
Power+volume up
When the splash screen shows, release power.
When the blue text shows in the upper left corner you can release the volume button.
If that method does not work
Volume up+home+power
When the splash screen shows, only release power.
When the blue text pops in the upper left corner you can release home and volume up.
Maybe this can help if you are having trouble getting to recovery.

Once I see the blue text, it pops the "Downloading... Do not tur off target!!!" right away. Even with the steps you mentioned.
That is very strange... It should be booting recovery, not download mode...

@Elsworth
Ummm ... I'm pretty sure you need a booted OS running on the tablet for any adb command to function. As for fastboot, it needs the bootloader to be running in a specific mode before it will do anything.
@OP
If you have the tablet plugged in to a PC when you try turning it on, do you hear any noise indicating device detection by the PC? If so, does any device show up in the device manager? BTW, where were you able to purchase a mobo from?

Interesting. If it were used, it should have factory software on it somehow. If it were brand-spanking-new, though, it might be completely unprogrammed - only capable of doing APX mode, which to date nobody but Asus knows how to use.
I'm interested to hear what you find out trying to start it up attached to a PC. APX mode only would not be good news.

now i'm just letting it sit there on the Samsung screen maybe its gonna take a while to start up idk.
So my question is what can i do to fix this. maybe you guys know something that can to make get passed this screen. or at least go into recovery because i think its not loading because i couldn't wipe the data and cache eta..... i think that why it wont boot up.
or maybe the phone is just messed up forever.

By Taking out the battery putting it back in and then holding the volume up button and the power button. It goes to the samsung galaxy s4 screen to say that the right booting recovery but then it just stays there doesn't do anything.

Your suppose to hold volume up and power button and home button at the same time. When the small blue writing appears in the upper left corner let go of the power button only. Then when it enters recovery let the other two go.
Try that method.

Seems like you may have flashed something wrong...safestrap is not the problem...the problem is with your phone or something you flashed
Please tell us EVERYTHING youve done until it got to this state...
When did you install safestrap?
Did you make a new rom slot?
What kind of wipes did you do?
What have you flashed?

go into settings, about phone, and tap on I believe it was build number about 10 times. this will activate developers mode. back out one and you should see the new option unlocked
Ive been having a problem. My phone shuts down by itself and when you try to boot, it restarts too. I think the power button is kinda " stuck " so it reboots and stuff. The reason i think this is because when i press the power button, it would give me the 4 boot menu which requires you to hold the button.
So any way to clean it? or fix this without opening up the phone ?
Take the battery out first.
Get the highest grade rubbing alcohol you can find. 91% isopropyl alcohol is the minimum you should use and do not use the green kind. Use a qtip to try and get a little under the button. Then push the button and release a bunch of times. Do this process about 3 or 4 times. Let the phone sit for about 15 to 20 mons to let it all evaporate. Pop the battery back in and give it a try.

the back? cause i think just pressing it and wiping it is a temporary solution, but the safest .i think this'll do for now . thanks a bunch. i think its cause of sweaty hands and it just got a little nasty.
might be the rom too...****... since i just opened FB and it just turned black.
All the symptoms are hardware related. The button may also be failing. You can take the device apart and do the same thing with the alcohol and a qtip.

do you know if theres a file that returns your phone to stock and removes the unlock thing on the boot screen like what they had on the GS2?
Triangle away removes the custom screen and resets the binary counter, you will have to use Odin to flash the stock firmware. I assume you are pre MF3. So MDL most likely.

oh sweet triangle away still works.
yeah not quite sure about this MDL and MF3 stuff... i got it when it first came out and stop visiting the forums. so im probably MDL. dam i have to use odin tho :T mhk. i think imma do this incase it breaks lol...
If you are MDL or earlier, you can use Kies to do the emergency recovery back to stock after triangle away.
Also, in the thread for triangle away and also in various tutorials, make sure you follow the steps exactly. It's a little different than the S2. Some make mention of needing to have unlocked bootloaders to use it, but don't worry about that as even on MDL and earlier, the bootloaders are technically locked. It will still work as long as you follow instructions.
