So when I need it most, my GPS won't lock properly. I've tried it in my car, outside, mobile, standing still, etc. Sometimes it just doesn't want to work no matter what I do (I've tried restarting, location via networks, GPS only, restarting). Other times it just works fine, but it's really infuriating to have a new phone and when you badly need a GPS it won't work.
I have an i9505, I thought the problem might be because I have a stock rom which isn't the right one for my country (just using some european one).
What can I do to fix this? It's really annoying..
Thanks.
.....
I ve bought a gt i9500 abroad ... i currently have indian firmware installed ... and used gps in USA and in greece ... so far worked perfectly fine ...
So it shouldn't be a software issues at least not regional ... maybe its a hardware issue can u claim warranty and have it checked?
Or u could reflash stock firmware to see if some weird bug occurred

Hi guys,
I purchased the DVP from States and using it in South Korea now.
Seems everything works fine except for GPS.
Does anyone have GPS problem? Any solutions ?
I use this phone in France and no problems with GPS!

Yes, it works both in China and Russia. You may need to wait a long time for the mobile to communicate with the satellite.
do you have the offline gps maps? The one I purchased has only online Bing .
works fine in UK
It works semi-fine in Canada for me. And by that, I mean it takes longer than what I have been used to with my android devices to pick up an accurate signal. Of course as everyone knows, my compass is dead as of Mango
Works in India too!
Yes - I've used mine in Spain, Canada, Scotland, England, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and the U.S.
Hi, my GPS on the DVP wont work, somebody have the same problem??? some issues to repair?!!
Thanks
try to use wifi when youre in maps and see if you get a rough general fix. if the circle doesnt shrink past 350m or something like that then youve got the common gps bug. its in more wp devices than just the dvp.. Lots of mango-ed devices report it.. Reverting back to premango fixes it. Or in lots of cases, it just fixes itself.. Mine did after a few restarts and a few days.
You can also download a gps testing app (e.g. gps test) off the marketplace to see if you get raw data from gps.. If not, highly likely the bug. wait it out a little?
Hi guys, I have a Optimus 7 from germany (which is sim unlocked and comes with the vodafone DE firmware)
I am updated to mango and unfortunately my GPS does not work. The phone is unable to get a lock and the accuracy is stuck at 350m (which AFAIK, is the phone getting the location from a cell tower/mobile network)
I have read on a few topics that the GPS issue is vodafone DE firmware specific. What is the reccomended firmware that has a fully functioning GPS lock and has the full wifi tethering ability?
BTW: I have tried a few fixes in regards to this issue (i.e. going into the registry) but they never worked GPS was working fine pre mango.
Thanks!
...i had same issue ,wich is resolved by starting maps while driving for 5 mins.
After i had gps reception ( maps are more accurate ) i never turned it off (gps reciver) wich has no impact on battery life.Maybe ull need to start application several times while driving.
-First off all, i rebooted phone...
Thanks for your reply. I flashed my phone with the Open firmware using the guide on the hacking page and it seemed to have done its trick
Np...that guide made me do all those things that i rply-ed to you
Hello. Below is a link to a problem I am having:-
http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Androi...4-1-2-update-via-kies-HELP-Please/td-p/371734
Basically, having a problem with 3g or lack of it! It use to work fine but since flashing to 4.1.2 it doesnt work at home. It works 5 miles up the road and 5 miles down the road but not here, even though here I have the strongest signal! Were I am here, I use to connect to hspda:9 but now its just hspda. My phone is connected but there is no bandwidth. I have flashed, reflashed, wiped cache, factory reset and flashed back to a older version and still it doesnt work. Does my phone use a different bit of hardware/driver/modem to use hspda:9? Down the road about 2 miles away, it changes between hspda and hspap which I have never seen. O2 say there is no network problem in my area. I presume my phone csnnot be faulty as it works in other areas but the place where I historically get the strongest signal on hspda:9 doesnt work anymore? Flashed and wiped so many times I really dont know what to do now.... Help!
Wow, 66 views and no help.Tough crowd!
try an earlier modem file and double check the APN settings are correct
Try with different SIM card
You will known if its related with your phone or your network.
Looks like you have changed your modem to me .

I have checked my apn settings and they are correct. I have put my wifes vodafone sim card in my phone and it works perfectly. It works on other masts on o2, just not on the one were I live! It is either a problem with o2 mast/signal where I live OR my mobile phone doesn't support hsdpa:9 anymore! It connects to hsdpa but doesnt have any bandwidth. I have flashed back to 4.1.1 o2 firmware and that didnt work. Then flashed 4.1.1 btu firmware and that didn't work so flashed back to 4.1.2 o2 firmware.
I was originally on o2 firmware but then flashed a btu update and changed the csc to btu. I did this on 4.04 btu and it was fine. Upgraded to 4.1.1 btu and that was fine, flashed to 4.1.2 btu and that is when I noticed the problem. The problem is I dont normally use 3g at home as I use wifi so I noticed the problem after I upgraded to 4.1.2 but it could have stopped working before then but if I hadnt used 3g for a while i wouldnt have noticed it. Fed up with it now!
Reading your link with all the things you've done to try and solve this, it definitely looks like an O2 problem. Especially if you flashed a stock BTU.
If there replacement sim doesn't solve the problem, the only other thing you could try is disabling fast dormancy.
It may fix the issue with your home mast (emphasis on the may), but it will increase the battery drain where 3g works for you.
Sent from the App that Time Forgot.
Well.... FINALLY I got someone who cared at o2. Been on the phone for 40 minutes and then spike to a engineer and they have opened a case and going to investigate as it they think its a 3g fault on the mast! 8 days and 6 phone calls it has taken but hopefully it will be sorted! Ended up on a o2 csc now though instead of btu but reset my phone so many times lately it doesnt take that long anymore to set back up!
Hi!
I have a small problem with my S5 it's a SM-G900M, it has been rooted before but right now I’m on stock Samsung firmware, and stock recovery.
No matter how much time I leave it outside I can’t get a lock from the GPS. Google maps shows approximate location but that is all, I used GPS status and Toolbox and GPS test to have a more detailed check on the GPS but both apps show it can’t get a fix. I did a full reset (factory reset and cache partition wipe) from recovery to no avail, I even went to a Samsung service center but they say there’s nothing wrong with the GPS sensors, they tried replacing my SIM card but it made no difference.
I also tried replacing my gps.conf with my country specific one without any results.
Thanks!
You took it to the Samsung Service Centre, they told you the sensors were fine, and you didn't question them as to why you were leaving with a still broken GPS?
Try flashing a stock ROM with ODIN
I Tried reflashing, still no luck…
It was my carrier’s Samsung service center, their excuse was it wouldn’t get a proper fix because we were indoors. I’m going to try again today hope they want to admit the problem.
Your reply to that should be "Well let's go outdoors then, considering I'm here because it won't get a GPS lock"
i have the same problem , i got a g900A model and the GPS don't working , then i'll try to Root but i read that model can not be rooted , so i buy a used Logical Board for g900M and still now not working i made root perfectly change many originaly and custom Rom and its not working then someone told me the GPS its on the USB port the Recharge Board so i replace it for other compatible with g900m because there two cable wires one for GPS and other for the GSM so i already have this two cables conected and still not working.
Yesterday came the phone at home, did all updates to the last (LRX21M.5.0.0-RU1.1.134 YD201 ). The WIFI does not work if I walk away more than two meters from the router (the rest of my phones, printers, laptops work more than ten meters away, at different heights). Is there any solution? I can not work in the room, in the kitchen, bathrooms ...
Greetings.
If you're using canal 1 or 13, change it, some wifi card are bad with theses.
Check if you are connected using 2.4GHz or 5GHz.
5GHz has much worse range and does not go through walls really well... Usually, the range of a 2.4GHz connection is much better.
Thanks.
Unfortunately, I change both option and the problem is the same. The rest of my mobile, pc... work perfect, only yotaphone 2 has that problem... Any suggestions?
I try many xda tutorials and the WiFi is ok on 4.4 but it dissapear on 5.0. I try several changes with the radio folder but it is imposible it works in 5.0... Any idea?
Hi Alberto. I have the same problem with the wifi. It doesnt work fine in 5.0. It doesnt work fine with radio folder from CN neither. The yota wifi only works fine in 4.4. In fact, I have check that he bands phone are a little weaks in 4.4.
It is Y201. I buy it in dx.com.
It cames from HK.
Lte works. I am in spain.
It has snapdragon 801 qualcomm MSM8974 PRO-AA. You can see with CPU-Z. May be the problem is the processor.
Can somebody tell me which processor has?
May be Honk kong version has diferent processor.
May be that is the reason why it has not support.
Does anybody know anythink about?
Alberto, what has you done?
Thanks.
I can´t fix it, friend. My version is the y201 and I am from Spain, too. Bad luck...
Maybe I found a workaround. My YD206 seems to have similar problems but I'm not sure.
I have a YD206 (4.4.4) CN re-flashed to RU 1.134 (5.0).
WiFi signal is available and the icon indicates good signal quality. But when streaming videos / downloading udpates I get like 5-20 KB/s (yes kilobytes).
So I played around and found that WiFi and Bluetooth don't like each other.
Turn Off Bluetooth = WiFi works well
Turn off WiFi = Bluetooth works well (less Bluetooth glitch with my car)
Maybe this helps someone.
Thanks, Sekal, but the problem continues.
Same problem here. In 4.4.3 works flawlessly.
@albertovk, if I am not wrong, @sekall12 said recently in other thread that he thought that he had fixed this issue by restoring to factory defaults.
I made several hard resets without results, unfortunatelly.
Some conclusions:
My yd201 only works well with wifi in 4.4
I think that it is not a really yd201.
In China the phones dont have actualizations, so they are cheaper that because it doesn`t run ok with lollipop
Then, my yd is a false yd201, or a yd206, or a false yotaphone.
May be they are an group of items fixed too that somebody are selling.
However I think that it is a China`s phone sold as yd 201. It is false.
I can`t undertand how wifi of others yd206 runs fine in lollipop.
Bad luck.
Try a factory reset. It's the last hope, because you lost all your data, including internal sd card content. So backup everything, including the SD card (for sms/mms/call log i use MyBackupPro). Don't count on Google autosave to restore your apps data, it won't work in case of factory reset.
I have problem with wifi that sometime disconnect, micro-lag, some app force close. Since the factory reset, all problems are gone (wifi is stable, no lag) And since my phone is like a virgin after this reset, I root the phone, so i can make full phone backup.
