Buying TF300 in USA

I'm from Norway, and I have a friend who is working in Huston, TX, USA.
Where is the best place to buy a TF300 in that area?
And do you think there will be a problem with the warranty? Will I have to ship it directly to Asus if I have a problem?
I will just buy the tf300 witouth the keyboard, and I will save around 200 USD. So its tempting.

He can pick one up at a Best Buy. That's where I bought mine. They've got a decent 30 day return policy, so your friend can test the tablet out and make sure it's good and return it or exchange it if there's a problem.
That's where I bought mine. First unit I got had a flaky touchscreen and I was able to exchange it with no fuss.
(Just one thing: as far as I know Best Buy is still only stocking the 16 Gb version. Office depot, however, carries the 32 Gb model and has a similar exchange policy.)

You can only get the 16gb at best buy but office depot has the 32gb version.

I am a bit sceptical, since some people are having problems with it. I think it will be a pain in the a$$ if I get a problem and have to send it back to the store in Huston or directly to asus. But then 200 USD is a lot of money..

If your friend knows enough about tablets, you could have him try it out before he sends it to you. You won't quite get the freshly-opened experience, but you'll know that your tablet won't have to be returned.

That is one of the problem, he isnt a nerd
But maybe ha can get the store to open it up and look that it isnt "broken"..

Micro Center sells them for $350 - list price is 400, but they have $50 discount on most tablets. You (or your friend in this case) may even be able to buy it online - www.microcenter.com ...
I bought mine from the store, after returning Prime ... and btw - after rooting, this thing is just so much better than prime ... though with dock, a lot thicker

Yea i got mine here too with 1 year accidental proteccion for $60 but i saw protection for $90 for 3 years..but i think is safer just going to the store if any problem

Nexus 7 in UK

Guys.Quick question. My friend just got to UK,he is new to shops and prices there. He asked me where he could get the N7 at a good price. I was helpless,when he did and hence my post here. XDA'ers in UK,help me out please.

It's pretty much the same price everywhere (except for a few places over-charging compared to the Google Play Store). This web page has a list of availability which is probably reasonably complete: http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-nexus-7-tablet
Some of the stores on that page are online only, but the majority have bricks and mortar outlets.

I figured out currys.co.uk but I wanted to know if there was any other site selling it at a lesser price.

Argos is fairly good, got mine from there.
Also extremely easy to return to, no questions asked sort of place.

Check for currys voucher codes online...or Argos/HMV in store deals...Asda is aswell but 180-199 is usually the range anyways for 32 gb

If you goto a Currys/PCWorld store then do NOT be fooled by their £20 off the 32Gb Nexus 7 because it's a con. Basically, it's £199, yet they say you can purchase ANY case (Their own wording) and get £20. Now if you can truly get ANY case then they sell £5 - £10 cheap phone cases so you get one of those and save £10 - £15, but it's not, it's buy any TABLET case and they start at £20. So you pay £20 and get £20 back, and their own proper Nexus 7 cases are £25, so you would be £5 out of pocket for a cheap plastic case.
This was in my own local super store, so yours may differ for offers + you might get a doofus serving you (like most Currys/PCWorld staff on commision) so you might be able to talk the talk.
You could also try a local Comet, they're shutting down their stores and they sell the Nexus 7, so you might see 20% off if you're lucky.

Just seen my local 'Carphone Warehouse' has the 32Gb N7 for £195, they also had some cheap decent case/pouches from £6.
If there is a local Carphone Warehouse near you I would send your friend in there, hopefully they have stock left, and they are the cheapest for 32Gb N7 on the highstreet.

I agree with what John said, I ordered mine last saturday and by the monday or tuesday I had it £195 with free delivery too!

Nexus 4 : Good prices ?

Hey guys ! I wanted lately to buy a used in good shape N4 , i find it to be a bit overpriced on ebay and amazon compared to the play store price (price is 50 bucks more) , and since in my country the play store doesnt exist i can only buy it from amazon and ebay !
So what do you think is a good price for it ?? im searching for a 16gb model , i think 8gb is not enough or is it ??

yes you are right, the reason your find them on ebay and amazon priced higher is probably becasue the seller will ship internationally, and is still cheaper then buying in their home country, or for what ever reason google does not sell in that country, OR the seller is counting on buyers who have a amazon store card or billmelater with paypal, and can finance it without having to get a real credit card, there are tons of reasons, those are the only ones i can think of now.
also i wouldnt pay more then $300 for a used 16gb nexus 4, i mean, for 50 bucks more you can get a new one, with a warranty!
since the nexus 4 is so different then its competitors and undercut them all in terms in price, it makes it an unprecedented popular "affordable" smart phone, with unprecedented pricing by 3rd parties. solid design and great phone, but a "cheap" device in terms of specs when compared to the S3 which is selling used for $300 right now.
even though it might be more difficult then normal to find, keep looking, as its the internet... and the 16gb models should be better priced then the 8gb's from what i've seen.
i had a 8gb nexus that i lost in the back of a taxi, it was a steller phone, though 8gb is not enough. though i did start to use streaming services like plex for video, and subsonic media server for my music and everything worked fine with internet, and could sync if i knew i would be without.

Have you tried Swappa? Some people will ship internationally. I just bought a Nexus 4 with accessories for $330. I know some people will say that's more than it should be, but it's basically brand new. If I ordered on Play between shipping and taxes I would've paid at least $50 more. I'll pocket the $50 for a phone that looks brand new.

[Q] Where to Buy 16gb Nexus 4 in UK?

OK guys I wan't to pick up a Nexus 4 here in the UK.
I have the Xperia Z Ultra on order but thats not the kind of device I want to take out with me on a night out on the Sauce
I know the N4 is available on google for £199 now which is a great price.
However is there anywhere I can get cashback or a voucher for a few quid extra off before I buy one?
I would look out for a second hand one in good condition on ebay for about £140-£150 but in some instances people are paying over the google play price for second hand.
Any help, or tips appreciated :good:

I know Always worth checking if there is a couple of pounds extra, or some cashback to be had though...
I really don't see the point for paying £160+ on ebay when it can be had new for a few pounds more though...

No I arrived just in time to pick it up reasonably as a backup device.

[Q] Availability?

First of all: I'm sincierly sorry to ask this question, but my recent finding destroyed my illusions of getting this phone.
Background story:
I found a person on ebay who is selling new, unopened, original Nexus 4 for real good price. I was like YES, I'm going to get it! Then I did some research and I found out that since the package starts from Hong Kong, it is checked by customs and that means no good. In Hungary the price is: The price of the phone + price of shipping + customs (3-12% of the earlier two combined) + 27% tax on the end result of the earlier 3 combined. It is CRAZY.
To work around this, I need the package to start from within the EU, because it means no customs and no 27% tax.
The question part
Can anyone tell me the cheapest and reliable place to get a new Nexus 4 from within the EU? And also it has to ship to Hungary, as my travelling options are very limited.
My maximum acceptable price is 280 dollars or the same value in any other money type. At the end of it's support it was cheaper than that at the play store so it has to be enough.
And once again: I seriously feel bad for having to ask this.

No idea but I think the used market is your best choice.
I bought a 16GB used Nexus 4 in mint condition still under warranty for 200€ 3 days in my country.
Surely you can find similar priced Nexus 4 on Ebay/Amazon?

It's probably just me, but I don't trust refurbished or used phones. Maybe I will have to change that in the future...

I feel you but as long as it has warranty and is in mint condition I don't see why not.
Besides I was on a tight budget aswell (200€) and had nothing as good as the N4 close to this price.
I also don't see how you will find a new Nexus 4 for sale because they aren't produced anymore and any N4 you might find will have atleast 1 year inside a box without any use, probably left on a wharehouse.

I don't like the fact that they are sitting in a warehouse, but I still trust it more than a used one.
Currently the best one I found is 312 dollars with the taxes. It's crazy.
