Play Store Help - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I am from Serbia and I have a problem with play store. I can't buy from it, I can't even see paid apps. Can I somehow buy Asphalt 8 for example if I use diff email ? Any solution ? Thanks !

Could you buy and see paid apps in the past?

I don't know for sure but MAYBE this will work.
1.Use a VPN to download.
OR
2.Download a modded play store.
Again, I don't know if this will work so any member here, correct me if i'm wrong.

CM Gapps usually leaves it out because you can find it on the market. The maps itself is roughly 6.8MB.
I honestly don't know why you can't just get it from the market.

Here you go http://db.tt/nyHdfet. Didn't even have to use my pc, just did it off my phone using the dropbox app.

Thanks. I've been wondering how to upload files to xda directly from my phone. I hadn't thought of going through dropbox.

Yes.
My tablet, which is perfectly capable of running Google Maps and is doing so just fine with a previous version, absolutely refuses to find that Maps even exists in the Market.
At the link above, the Market won't install to my tablet because it thinks it's incompatible.
Our Nexus S's will find and install nearly anything in the Market with the exception of some tablet-only or other highly hardware-specific apps. That's far from the case with many other devices. Some devices have to be hacked just to access the Market at all.

[A] Solution for Amazon and Xbox Smartglass on N7

I moved Amazon.apk and Xbox smartglass to my nexus and they work. I thought I would post them as a solution for some people who are new to the N7. Is it ok to post them via drop box?

Pretty much if it feels like stealing, or smells like stealing - XDA is not the place for it.
Everything else (if legal) seems OK. XDA is pretty good at self-policing, and if needed the Big Guns come in.

Microsoft Smart glass is free but for some reason Microsoft did not mark the N7 as a compatible device.
Amazon app store and shopping app are both free. Not sure which one that second apk is.
Edit: misread the post but anyways, those two are not paid apps

Amazon hasn't released a tablet version and xbox smartglass won't be available for awhile.

Microsoft surprised everyone and released Smartglass early... so it IS available...
Works fine on Nexus 7, just download the APK above.
thanks for the apk!
The Amazon apk can be downloaded and installed normally via the Amazon App Store. For many, that would be a better option, as they'd still receive updates rather than having to try to keep up with sideloading newer versions.

The app can be found on the play store, there are a few, but I would just check out the free versions to see if they work for you.
Thanks very much, what tags would you recommend that work with the nexus

Anyone that is the NTAG203's and NOT the Mifares. Well, that's if you are intending to use the tags with the N4. So go to ebay or wherever you like to buy them. I personally have loved the service of andytags.com but there are cheaper alternatives. I go with Andytags because of the combo of service and products. And they post here too lol.
Why not the mifares ones and I am from the UK to purchase

If you are in the UK you may want to try our store Shop4NFC for quicker shipping. Estimated delivery to UK from us is 5-7 working days.
As for the app we would recommend NFC Task Launcher or NXP TagWriter from the Google Play store.

Question

What if i buy app and than format phone, do i have to buy it again?

No you dont. Just open the playstore>menu>my apps and the ones that you already purchased will be available for download.

Anyone have a link that isn't a pain in the ass to download from?
I tried once but the download didn't work and you have to pay to download more than once in a certain period of time apparently.

Will I break anything, maybe auto update of newer version when that comes in the future, if I flash the updated version myself instead of waiting for Google to push it in my country?
