You should post this on the Google Rom forum. But as for the problem, you might have just gotten a bad download. Try to re download it.

Does it keep going back and forth between the white HTC screen and the sprint boot animation...

i waited around 10 minutes, now everything is booting fine, reloading my data, and lets see what really imprived
I took the battery out, and then went and wiped and reformatted my SD chip, reloaded the zip image to flash but it wasn't showing through the recovery menu, so I booted and it went further in 1 minute than it did in 15 without redoing the SD chip. Just no internet....
Reflashing right now.
I flashed to the new rom, have I lost my root, do I have to re-root my phone?
because I am trying to install fonts I had on my old rom, and I keep getting the following error
downloading 'boot.img'... failed (remote: not allow)
I've had the same issues with my phone when flashing
To DamageControl. The only one that worked for ne was DamageControl 2.02. And it
Was so buggy I flashed back to modoco
If you're trying to push files you'll have to do
adb remount
you still have root, no worries

is there a way to extract only certain files from a android backup and restore them, i.e. the sms??

I'm hoping someone can help me....

I had to odin back to stock last night, and I used Eugene's Froyo stock rom.
The problem is now when I go to install any rom, it's giving me an error message using CWR. On the INSTALL FROM PACKAGE file its giving me a SIGNATGURE VERIFICATION FAILED message and then it says INSTALLATION ABORTED under installing multi-csc. That's as far as I can get.
Can someone help me here?
Thanks

I was having the same problem trying to install, and here is what I did. I uninstalled CWR, and reinstalled it. I also reformatted my sd card, and that did the trick. Hope this helps.
Format sd card be sure to save anything you need music pics etc

Good call. Formatting your sd card will make you lose everything on the card. Didn't think to mention that.

Flashing CleanCB

For the life of me, I cannot get either version to flash. I've read, and reread this thread (I'm a reader) as well as everything in general - the wiki (I'm a reader). Just need 2 say that before JC is brought up in any response I get. At any rate, I boot into cw, wipe and flash. Each time and I've tried 4 times now, I get stuck at the Samsung screen. I'm on EL30, also have the modem and I'm rooted...I've done this many times bu cannot get this ROM to work for me....and I oh so wanna buy the dev a beer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried redownloading? Maybe you got a bad download.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
What CWM are you running? And is the CleanGb build MTD or BML
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA Premium App
I am on ClockworkMod 5.0.2.7
Tried downloading 4 different times
First tried flashing BML - twice
stuck on Samsung screen
nandroided back
Tried flashing MTD
stuck on Samsung screen
Tried one last time to flash BML - had to nandroid back again.
I've read a lot, a whole lot and I still cannot figure it out.
OK, try reflashing CWM 5.0.2.7 first. then do a Factory Data reset in CWM then flash the ROM right after. Don't use ROM Manager. See how that works. If you tried the MTD version then use that one. You may want to Odin back to BML with repartition checked if you want to try that one.

Ok....tried that with high hopes and got:
checking state of bml/mtd...
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/updater.sh")==0
E:Error in /sdcard/CleanGB-MTD-1.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted
going to nandroid back again...if that works
Did try redownloading the rom &reflashing it?
Your problem seems to be a bad download. I had a problem with MTD because of ACS recovery, then i had a bad download

Looks like you are getting bad downloads or your sd card is corrupted. You may need to backup and reformat your sd card.

I'm beginning to think this download (second MTD download) is bad. I totally removed my card - put all the info on my computer, inserted a new card, flashed and got the same error. Gonna delete the download and try again.

Wow...talking about "reading" everything....named the ROM incorrectly in my subject line. (I JUST edited it) I'm going to blame that on the fact that I stare at a computer screen all day.
Again - many thanks and good night!

WinRAR is your friend. To test the integrity of a ROM zip file, open with WinRAR, click on Commands > Test archived files and it should come back with "no errors found" if it's a good download.

very helpful information. I have read a lot about people having issues with bad downloads. Nice to know you can check them like that. I have noticed in flashing various roms that I have come across some random glitches. Perhaps this could be the culprit. Thanks again.
Users should ALWAYS verify the integrity of ROM downloads using the md5 sums posted by the developer. If you download directly to your phone you can use the "properties" view in Root Explorer. If you've got it on your PC you can use the utilities found here - http://www.winmd5.com/

[Q] can't install rom on rooted att galaxy s4

I rooted my Galaxy s4 sgh i337 installed Rom Manager and Goomanger, ClockworkMod. I downloaded three different roms all the same results. Wicked rom, Goldeneye rom, and CyanogenMod Nightly rom. I have put them on the ext memory card in their zip form, and downloaded them right to the phone with Rom Manager. Reboot into Clockwork recovery and do a clear, and install. always same result, when in recovery with Team Win Recovery, hit Install, select the rom, swipe to confirm flash.
Updating partition details...
Running boot script...
Finishing running boot scrip.
E: Unable to open zip file.
Failed
I have flashed my galaxy s3 with no problems, this is driving me nuts. I would be grateful your hel or advise.

Copy to internal sdcard. Flash from there. See what happens. Result back here.
Sorry, bored.
Thanks for the help. just wasted the whole morning on this. I followed the link , every detail. rerooted twice, complete factory setting 3 times. installed the patch and roms from both memory locations, downloaded all new files, changed computers, changed usb cables, all with the same error when flashing rom . (Failed unable to open zip file). The patch flashed fine, but unable to unzip the roms. I have downloaded them straight to phone, and pc, same results. I have to be missing something aaaaggggg

Did you ever check the md5sum to make sure the downloads were good. That's good practice.

What recovery and are you downloading these roms via your phone or PC? Wouldn't rule out a bad download. Do an MD5 and file size check.
I had a similar problem. I flashed the blu Kuban Rom but it is Mdl and im on mf9. It flashed oddly fast but when i rebooted to system it stayed on the boot animation for over an hour and nothing happened.

I've had such issues myself a few times. I fixed it by redownloading the files using Chrome.

This seems to be a common problem with bad downloads.
Most people suggest using a web browser for the download then transferring via USB to the phone.

Yep. Always try to download via a PC and transfer if you can. Just more reliable. Try doing that and see if they flash ok. If not, post back.
