Try a data factory reset or reflash the rom you have with Odin if you`re on stock. See item 1 in my sig for how to. If you have a custom reflash the rom in recovery without a wipe.
Go to settings/more/application manager/all.in the list search Messaging application and select it.i think it is disabled. You should enable it by tapping the Enable button.at last you should reboot your phone.

im sure its something to do with knox ask in that section
I have the exact same problem since upgrading to 4.3. Everytime it connects to wifi that silver shield icon with security information warning pops up, really annoying. I don't know how to fix this.

What do you mean? Do I have it install Knox first? Mine is just a Knox shortcut, I didn't install it.

Same problem here.
I searched for this security warning and it seems to happen when toggling wifi on/off or the phone tries to connect to a open network when in standby.
Some reports say a factory reset can fix this issue, but I did that after I flashed 4.3 BTU and I still get the warning. Another possibility is to clear data and force close Knox notifications, but this won't last.
Maybe the only way to get rid of this for good is to root and remove all Knox crap.
Although, this leaves a question. Why is my phone trying to connect on itself to open networks ? I have turned off location service.
This is very shady business practice from both Samsung and Google. After all , I own this damn phone, I didn't payed 600 Euro for a spy tool on behalf of Google.
Guys, heard anything or any new update from Samsung about this issue? The warning message is really really annoying.

Wi-fi security error message
I am also getting the same security warning when toggling Wi-Fi on/off or when roaming. I am not using Knox, at least I haven't installed the main app as yet. Phone stock S4 gt-19505. I haven't done a factory reset since upgrading to 4.3 as some have reported that the problem still persisted.
Does anyone have a fix?

My problem is even worse. After receiving ths notifications, my wifi just died. It does not turn on anymore.
Hi folks! Im hoping someone can help me sort this out.
I rooted my n9005 using CF-root to install custom ROMs. I wanted to back-up EFS and searched google play store for an app, I found "Efs by BORIS.X.1" app.
This app is not to be used for NOTE 3 as per warning by the developer but I'm so stupid not to read. :crying:
My phone got into a bootloop and if I was able to pass boot up, after few seconds it would restart. I have scouted the forums for fixes and I have found one. I am now able to boot my phone normally but cannot make calls and sms.
My IMEI is unknown, I already fixed it using "EFS pro" tool, IMEI is showing now but still no calls and sms. I also noticed that the serial number is not the same as the one written at the back of the phone. I have read that restoring EFS solves this problem, but I don't have EFS backup.
To sum things up, the phone now boots up normally, IMEI is showing the right one, serial number still incorrect, can connect via WiFi, can't make calls and sms but phone has signal bars and says "Emergency Calls Only".
When trying to make a call, "not registered to network" shows up.
Im on MJ6 BTU firmware with root and TWRP recovery. I originally got my phone with MJ1 KSA firmware.
Im planning to bring my device to a nearest samsung sevice center but im not sure of they will accept it or if they can fix it even at a price.
It's been literally days since I had a good night sleep.
Please help. Thanks!
Having the same problem...How did you get your phone connected to efs pro? Every time I try my device reboots :/ Is it possible in recovery mode? Which recovery?
Did you find a final solution?
•You need to be rooted first.
•Make sure USB debugging is enabled.
•Dial *#0808# on your phone and select the same items in the image
•Connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable and open up EFS Pro.
I still haven't figured out the solution of my problem.
I brought my phone to the nearest Samsung service center but their solution is just to replace the motherboard which is very expensive.

My phone is fixed now. The one and only solution that worked for me is replacing the motherboard. Samsung Saudi did it, and I paid a fortune for it.

Hi, maybe senior members will help you if you give more info.
Are you running stock or custom Rom? Build number?. How did you upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4? Flashing with ODIN? OTA? KIES?
:fingers-crossed:

I believe you installed an application that monitors your data usage. Have you installed something like a battery saver?
I know one case where JuiceDefender turns off your mobile data when you power off your device screen, and refreshes every XXX interval to check for new notifications.
If you don't know, I suggest doing a full factory reset in the Settings application (THIS WILL CAUSE YOU TO LOSE ALL DATA)

I think you might as well do a reflash of stock ROM. If this fails, then something is wrong with your phone.
Hi
Is there a way to restore properly sms and mms from my previous device.
I am not planning root.
Would like to get group messages restored properly as well.
Any suggestions?

Apparently my Galaxy Nexus (with CM11) is not supported by Kies 3.
Instead of asking us will the app restore MMS, why don't you try it yourself and see........

KIES will only support Samsung TW Firmware,
Can't backup/export without root I think, cause you'll need a root explorer to move the file off the device and onto the new one. it'll be an .xml or something similar, but depending on the app backing it up depends on where it is stored also.
SMS Backup&Restore worked without problems on Galaxy Nexus, One X, Note 3, Nexus 5, One M8 and Note 4
i use mybackup pro (yes, you have to pay for it). it restores sms and every picture that's been sent to you in an mms. it also restores data, bookmarks, and call logs. i've used it on every android i've had.
Another vote for SMS Backup&Restore :good: Then back it up to DropBox.
