Thanks.
Here are my homescreens. Main homescreen is CM10.2 with Galaxy S4 theme and the clock is a Beautiful Widgets clock with S4 theme.
This currently is my homescreen.
CM10.1 using trebuchet launcher, stock 4.2 clock and battery widget reborn.

This is mu home screen, using LightningLauncher. Yes, I have three note taking apps . The first one was CATCH, that unfortunately has been closed down soon after I discovered it. The second one was SomeNote, which would be really great if they allowed a google account login. They said they were working on it, so I'm just waiting. The third one - Google Keep made it available for me only recently (switched from android 2.X to 4.X device).
pretty standard and clean CM10.2

Changed the look of my phone to a more stock Motorola look. Rocking CM10.2 with a Motoblur CM10 theme off Google Play.
Widgets are as follows:
Screen 1 - torch widget (resized)
Screen 2 - Power Amp, Tunein Radio
Screen 3 - Beautiful Widgets clock with MIUI theme
Screen 4 - World Clock, Stock Market Widget, CNN
Screen 5 - stock Email (resized), stock Calendar (resized)
I prefer a nice, clean, minimalistic main home screen (screen 3) as you can see.

I was wondering if there was a 'narrower/less wider' version of the standard HTC flip clock with the weather integrated, something which is 4 x 1 perhaps?
Or even something with 4 x 1 dimensions that still has a nice looking clock (to one side?) and the weather to the other?
Thanks.
EDIT: Tried to achieve the looks with separate 2 x 1 widget for clock and weather but the look doesn't integrate too well (!)
I don't know anyway to get around what you want but i use one called Beautiful Widgets from the Market place, same sort of thing weather and clock but you can have the smaller home version running and takes up very little space and you can download new skins from the market, very good if the main htc app doesn't have your weather location on as it doesn't for me, a few pics from the net to give you an idea.

If you look on the video i made of my Desire you will see the smaller version of it running and you get lots of other different widgets as part of the package.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjLo3OjWxZA
The one in your video seems good; anyway to change the font on that particular one or are they all set/fixed?
From what i can see on mine there are 3 fonts but all look mostly the same.
You get 3 basic fonts but if you download different skins they look totally different
Is there an option of 'location' based weather with this particular widget?
I saw the Weather Widget, which seems identical to the HTC one.
Ok, I give up. I have Googled for 3 days and read that **** manual cover to cover.
How in the world do you edit the Touchwiz settings? I remember the first day I went to the settings and changed the Show Windows from 5 to 7.
I for the LIFE of me cannot remember how in the WORLD I did that...
So, please, please do not flame me...first Samsung phone and clueless...
Thanks
For some reason, I thought it was under the MENU, then on some i have seen EDIT , but its not there...grrr....

Hi I don't think you can change touchwiz setting short of rooting your phone and editing a few text files. The Epic comes with 7 homescreens and can't be changed from it unless a new launcher is installed. You can however disable the touchwiz launcher if you want the vanilla android look and you can also install an aditional launcher such as launcher pro, which is what I did. Installing a new launcher means you cannot use the touchwiz widgets such as the friend update widget or the taskmanager widget or any of the touchwiz clocks. However the comm manager in the notifications bar is still there as well as the task manager button on long home press.
See read here:

So that option is not available on our phones? Or is this a "modded" Touchwiz...
We have a gimp version of touchwiz until Froyo comes. Many of us use Launcher Pro or ADW because Touchwiz mostly sucks and the widgets do the same.
Here is just a few impression of mine for using 4.2
Hope this thread will help somebody.
The first thing I notices after updating the 4.2 is the Nexus 7 digital clock lock screen.
the first number is bold and the rest number are not.
For example, if it's 4:22pm, the number 4 is bold, but the rest numbers are not. It's looks really ugly as my personal opinions.
Today the HD widget updated for 4.2, I can add 4.2 widget onto nexus 7 lock screen instead their ugly default digital clock.
I will post a screen shot later. Hope this help someone with the same problem.
Personal opinions on 4.2 update
Pro
Swype gesture keyboard is really good I think. I was going to buy the Swiftykey, but this gesture keyboard stopped me
Icons are smaller and I like it. Screen seem to be better I think?
Con
Don't like the bounce back notification ...it's annoying in my opinions..
Overall, the update is just "ok" for me~! not too good, not too bad.
I'm on stock, no root, so I don't really have a choice anyway!

I upgraded to JB 4.2 and thought the bold hour on the digital clock looked ugly.
To fix:
I force stopped the Clock app.
I deleted /system/app/DeskClockGoogle.apk and /system/app/DeskClockGoogle.odex .
I deleted /data/data/com.android.deskclock/databases/alarms.db . You must delete your alarms to downgrade the clock.
I download the DeskClockGoogle.apk attached to this post and put it in /system/app/
Rebooted my phone and the clock was back to 4.1.2 version.
Edit 21/09/13: added fullscreen
I made these recently and just wanted to post them.
edit: I can link now.

Looks really fine!
Any chance, that you will tell me, how to make own clock?
Gesendet von meinem Nexus 4 mit Tapatalk 2
Well, sadly I can't link to better instructions (I'm new) but mainly you:
Make the empty widget,
Add a module (think: numbers for the clock, rectangles)
then look through the settings for it.
Mainly the format string matters, it has pre built ones like date, battery, etc.
Hope this helps.

Hello there,
This is a work in progress for a minimal Home Screen with Music and Weather Widgets for the Nexus 5.

I tried to see how much I could theme the Home Screen without rooting and only using the Play Store. I'm new to the Android eco-system so any suggestions you may have regarding theming, launchers and widgets are welcomed. In essence, this is only a collection of stand-alone and modified elements from the Play Store. If you feel like experimenting with this set-up, I'll leave the sources below. Since I'm still a new member and can't post links, you can search for all of them on the store. Most of them are well-known.
Launcher: I started with the Themer Launcher and the Dark autumn theme(search for it in Themer or the Play Store).
I decided to switch to Nova Launcher, since it seemed more stable and light weight. You can get an identical look as with the Themer Launcher, since most of the settings are the same.
Widgets: All of them are Zooper Widgets. If you apply the Dark autumn theme first, you can save the Calendar, Weather and Notification bar Widget and use them later in any other launcher.
Icons: A combination of Min Icon Pack, Flight Lite & Tiny White Icon Pack. Text hidden and Icon size set to 80%.
Music widget: Modified version of Project X for Zooper Widget. You'll need Zooper Widget and Media Utilities for this to work. This is probably the most buggy element of the set-up. I use it in combination with Shuttle Music player, but it does lag from time to time, updating the cover art or recognizes the touch controls.
Wallpaper: 'In Rotation' by fiftyfootshadows.net. A great site from a very talented photographer with tons of high quality and soft focused wallpapers.
