I can't understand what you mean. If you want to install stock rom from TWRP recovery, you have to modify updater-skript.
Why do you can install only the twrp recovery 2.8.7.7, when we have the twrp recovery 3.0.0.2
File img you can flash from fastboot mode. Commands:
fastboot flash system file.img
fastboot flash recovery file.img
fastboot flash boot file.img
or
fastboot boot file.img for example twrp recovery img or stock recovery img. This is command for once booting.
I want to return to original firmware , i download it from the site of asus. So, i booted twrp in fastboot mode (i tried different version of twrp, but the only that starts is the 2.8.7.7 version) using adb.
Now i am in recovery with twrp 2.8.7.7. I can push using .zip files or img files on internal storage.
But i have different problems with this recovery:
IF i use wipe function: error opening sys, could not mount, enabe to mount, ... (failed)
If i install rom or firmware with zip files: error unable to mount, unable to find partition for path.... (failed)
Adb sideload goes failed too.
What should i do???
I think that the problem is in the internal partition... I have to install using a min usb ext storage? or what????? thanks :fingers-crossed:

Easiest way to fix your phone is flash stock rom from stock recovery. Stock rom put to sd card. Reboot to stock recovery and choose flash rom from sd card. New version number system must be the same or higher than installed in the phone.
Do you want to return to the lower version of Android.

Do you have Lollipop or Marshmallow and what is your version number.
For Marshmallow you need to this working twrp recovery.

For Lollipop you need to this working twrp recovery.

If you haven't installed stock recovery, it's not no problem. You can it flash from fastboot mode.

How did you flash the file twrp.img.
OK guys I've solved the problem. I moved in this way:
1) Volume up + power to go in fastboot mode
2) after installing adb and the other drivers, i've insered these commands:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase system
3) after downloading twrp version 3.0.0 (for the zenfone 2 laser), I load it using the command "fastboot boot (name file twrp).zip"
4) the recovery starts automatically. Now i downloaded the file "back2stock.zip" and the original firmware (WW, worldwide) form the official site of the Asus
5) this passage is the most important:using 7zip I've extracted the file zip of the firmware and the backtostock, then i created a new file using 7zip : in this new zip i've loaded the files inside back2stock and the files file_contentexts, system.new.dat, system.patch.dat, boot.img e system.trasfer.list inside the zip of the official firmware
6) I've loaded this new file on the phone using the command "adb push (new file name).zip /"
7) at last i have installed this file on the phone ENJOY it
Hi,
I made this post/thread because i couldn't find a solution to my problem through this forum and google.
Here is my trouble:
I was trying to install a twrp recovery and was following the instructions of a tutorial.
-So first i installed flashify and proceeded to a back up of the current kernel and current recovery
-Then downloaded a custom recovery image through TWRP release for my nexus 4
-After this i accidentally flashed the recovery image to boot instead of recovery
Now as you can guess the trouble is that my phone only boots to TWRP recovery instead of usual boot.
I tried to find aswers on this forum and google and yet i didn't find a solution.
I tried this post but without results:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/general/fix-recovery-loop-twrp-computer-t2873386
I would be grateful for any help and wish to recover this mistake without using a factory reset if possible.
Thank you, as you can see i am pretty new to this environment.
Can you get into fastboot mode? If yes, try flashing a stock Google rom and perform a factory wipe after installing the stock rom.

Thank you for your answer, yes i can get into fastboost mode. As i am pretty new can you explain me how i can flash the stock Google rom (i guess it is the factory rom provided ?). Will this operation erase my data on the phone ?
Boot into fastboot and flash boot.img and recovery.img file from stock rom. Make sure you use the stock rom that matches the rom currently installed on your phone.

Once in fastboot, extract the downloaded zip you got from Google. There you will find flash-all.bat Execute it as admin and wait. If it doesn't work, then extract the zip within the first zip and you should get loads of .img files. You will manually have to flash them. The commands are a bit different for each partition. They go like this:
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery. img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash data userdata.img
Note that if your cmd/terminal isn't open from the directory where the files are you will have to input it's location, for example
Code:
fastboot flash recovery C:\Users\YOURUSER\Desktop\recovery.img
Also note that there must be no spaces neither in the file name or the directories where the file is located, otherwise it probably won't flash.
Also yes, doing this will completely revert you to stock, and you WILL loose all your data. You could try just reflashing recovery.img and then flashing TWRP over it. If you can get to TWRP after this, then connect the USB cable to your PC and transfer all the data you need, after which I recommend flashing to stock. You can root and/or flash custom ROMs after this.
However in your case I think you don't have to completely go back to stock. Just try flashing the proper boot and recovery images over fastboot like I explained above and try booting then.

It sounds like your SD card is not working because of reasons...
Try flashing TWRP from this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-root-t3405701) with fastboot. Take the recovery image out of the extracted SRKTool Huawei.
Name should be twrpp9mm.img
Report back if you are able to access recovery again. From there you should be able to recover.
Afaik it is not possible to just reflash EMUI 4 after having updated to the Beta of EMUI 5. Once you have a recovery going, try to follow the exact steps of downgrading that are here on the forums.

After installing this recovery the phone is stuck at Your device is booting now... screen when entering recovery mode D:
So no recovery is working?
Have you tried flashing Meticulus TWRP or the Nougat Revolution Recovery?
One of these has to work... It also helps you to find out where your phone is stuck. If only Nougat Recovery works, your rollback from N has not worked. That would explain why you cannot launch any Marshmellow based recoveries.

Yeah.*I can boot into recovery N B9 but when i try to flash/wipe/do anything it says cant mount /vendor /product /version
Hmm okay that's a problem...
I don't really see what to do next honestly. Somehow we need to get fastboot flash working.
Have you tried to get back to a working Nougat build?
So flash BadWolf's Revolution N ROM in TWRP or via fastboot (since TWRP does not seem to work).

The best, is to try to install twrpmeticulus, wipe all except external storage property, install oeminfo.zip badwolf, go back to reboot, shut down.

Hi,
My ZE550KL was locked in boot with this message: "Security Error: This phone has been flashed with an unauthorized software & is locked", so i followed some tutorials and was able to install TWRP recovery (i had bootloader already unlocked). Then when trying to reinstall stock rom, i realized i had to reinstall the stock recovery. I did it and installed the stock rom with version matching with the stock recovery i installed(UL-Z00L-WW-1.17.40.1531-user). Everything was going ok, but when my newly installed stock rom was popping multiple apps stopped working an i was unable to basically do anything. So i tried reinstalling stock rom again, but this is when things collapsed. As i entered recovery to reinstall the rom, it has lots of errors from partition cache
Code:
E:failed to mount /cache (Invalid argument)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
. This same errors happens when i try to wipe it from the recovery, but when i erase the cache partition on fastboot it says "OK". I also tried to reinstall twrp, but apparently my bootloader was blocked again, and it says it is flashed when i try, but when rebooting it boots again on stock recovery.
So i tried just booting twrp, but then it says my bootloader is blocked and can't boot twrp. Also tried sideloading stock rom from adb, but it gets the same cache partition errors. I tried
Code:
fastboot -w
and it says OK but the cache partition errors are still there. I also tried
Code:
fastboot erase ASDF
and i get some errors.
TLDR; I'm stuck at a cycle where i have to remount cache and all other partitions via TWRP, but i can't install TWRP because my bootloader got locked again and i can't unlock it because i need to install some rom to do it, but since my cache partition is destroyed i can't install anything, neither via fastboot on pc nor from recovery on the phone.

I may or may not have TWRP installed. Because, it's stuck on the bootloader when it switches on. I can only get into fastboot. Not more than that. No more Recovery mode. All the tutorials I see online for flashing with QFIL is only for A6000 (not Plus). I have A6000 Plus. What do I have to get it back on the track?
I've searched on other topics about this. But, they're all for A6000. I don't wanna brick more. So, any help would be appreciated.

Most tutorials for A6000 work for the "Plus" variant and vice versa, so it might be worth checking them out.
Also if you had usb debugging on and can send commands to your device from ADB, you can boot into recovery by this command:
fastboot boot recovery xxxx.img
Where "xxxx" is the name of the recovery file which must be in the adb folder.
Feel free to ask if any query

I was like why didn't I try this before.
You know what happened? The boot process on "Command Prompt" screen went fine. I heard the unplugging the device and replugging the device sound very well. But during all these process it stays on Fastboot mode forever.
I have the latest TWRP loaded for temporary boot process. (3.2.1)
Besides from that
I was finally able to flash with QFIL tool. But still stucks at Lenovo POWERED BY android logo. QCom Downloader didn't work. But QFIL tool did work. I was able to finally come over the "sahara error" by quickly clicking "Download" button after connecting the cable. Then it flashed all the files. Then it finished downloading. But then if I try to switch it on, it wouldn't boot. Still stucks at the screen that I mentioned earlier.

Use the TWRP provided in the RR thread.
Wipe everything except MicroSD, if it shows any error while wiping, repair the partition in which the error arises and then wipe. After that flash the HEX firmware in RR thread and then flash ROM.
(Side Question : how did you land up in this situation?)

Use the TWRP provided in the RR thread.
Wipe everything except MicroSD, if it shows any error while wiping, repair the partition in which the error arises and then wipe. After that flash the HEX firmware in RR thread and then flash ROM.

The TWRP I mentioned 3.1.0 was obtained from RR forum only where dev mentions "F2FS" support. It does show the same error that I mentioned earlier. I did repair, resize, format, change file system. What ever I do, I always get the mount error on 3 partitions. Can't flash any ROMs either. Shows that error 7 and 6. I even deleted the assert line. It would only land me on error 6. I even googled and tried to get rid of that error. But after the error 6 or 7, it shows the same "mount failed".
Not my device. One of my client's. Received as not working.
