Greetings all
Is there a way to get an unlocked SGH M919V from Videotron to work with TELUS , the phone works but not LTE and if I enable it using the enable all LTE in the phone console I lose the capability to make or receive phone calls .
Do I need to install a different firmware and if so which one.
Thanks in advance.

Hi there..
All of you masters out there. I just jumped from an iphone to s4. And got this S4-SGH M919V from WIND Canada.
I am a newbee to Android. Now I have been searching if there is a way to enable LTE in my S4. I am facing the exact same problem as my friend posted above. I have tried enabling LTE through ×#2263# command. It does show an esterik infront of LTE bands once selected butttttt I cant make calls.
Now I think this is happening because Wind model of S4 which I have does not support the LTE band frequencies...
My question is if there anyway I can flash the modem firmware from T-mobile which apparently has all the LTE bands in it????
Will that enable LTE in my S4??
P.S I have not rooted or done anything yet with the phone. Just got it unlocked through Wind mobile.
Phone details are as folows..
Wind S4.
Device name : SGH M919V
Baseband : M919VVLUAMG1.
I am currently using wind mobile sim card with 4g speed on it.
I really need this LTE enabled. Because when I put a Bell sim in my phone. It connects data with 3g. Its not showing LTE at all. And when I tried forcing LTE with bell sim inserted, the LTE works fine but I lose the calls.
I would greately appreciate any guidence here. Thank you.

the answer...
Not sure if anyone still needs the answer to this but i just figured it out WITHOUT having to flash anything to the phone... phone is 100% stock except that its unlocked... Its the SGH-M919V from WIND mobile in Canada.. I switched over to Koodo mobile and LTE wasnt working... So open the dialer and type in *#2263# and hit AUTOMATIC and make sure theres a star beside it... before this only 3G would come up... Now LTE works!!! Good luck!

Hi Forum,
I just got a note 3 from Wind and when I go to the network settings I can only see the following options
WDCMA/GSM
WCDMA only
GSM only
Does this mean that the phone wont work on lte? can anyone else confirm if they have the same phone.
Thanks,

It's there but you have to unlock and root the phone. flash a modem to enable it.
That is not true, you do NOT need to root the device or modify it in any way to get LTE to work simply plug in an LTE sim once the device is unlocked and it will pick up the network. I purchased my Note 3 from WINDMobile on friday and tested a Rogers SIM in the device to check out LTE compatibility it picked it up no problem and I can pull about 25Mbps on the Rogers LTE network in Calgary
I just successfully flashed the modem/rom/etc on my new S4 for ATT. I have service with H+ on ATT but I am unable to get LTE, GPS, or MMS messages. Does anyone know if there is a way to get these functions working yet on this phone?
4.4.2 Firmware.
Sounds like the apns are messed up. Maybe search for what they should be and verify against what is set on your device.

I have verified the APN is correct per another ATT S4 stock and my old S3 LTE APN, still no LTE. let me remind you that this is a n unlocked SPRINT phone with GSM enabled as primary connection..

Make sure the network mode is set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM or something with LTE if you have other options. Also, i'm not entirely sure the Sprint model has the same LTE bands enabled.
Hello all, i have a question regarding an Australian Telstra Galaxy S5 with att service. the phone works with voice and text but has no data or mms. i have added an apn from my sim card in a galaxy nexus that gets me edge service. i have found band selection in the service menu but non seem to make it any better. I'm sure LTE won't work but thats ok. as long as i can get 3g at least. do i need to flash say the att s5 modems? if so how? i have the modem file and another already extracted from the att firmware. thanks in advance.
Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900i branded telstra
i think firmware ANE1 4.4.2

Using a foreign handset on a system will never give you perfect coverage. That is by design, as both Samsung and carriers want to lock you in, not make it easy for you to change carriers. Or do so without buying a new phone.
The specs for your variant suggest that it has full coverage on ATT's 3G bands and partial coverage of their LTE allocations. You don't need an ATT modem, just make sure that your firmware is recent - which it will be by definition, as the S5 was only released a few months ago.
Unfortunately you didn't provide much detail, in particular whether you were roaming or a regular ATT customer. Things that you might check in general, that your phone doesn't blacklist any ATT MCCs (roaming restrictions). That you have the correct APN information and that your ATT SIM is properly provisioned for LTE.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. In service menu, I was picking compatible gsm bands. Back to network screen in settings, had it on gsm/lte only. That was giving me edge. Read more into wcdma and used network mode wcdma/gsm. That gives me H or H+. I know I won't get lte but with that network mode and another apn, I'm satisfied with the end results.
It sounds like you inadvertently blocked coverage with your previous settings. The default setting is automatic band select which should have worked fine.
Glad you figured it out in the end.

Yeah. It was the apn that was hurting me. Default it used the wap.cingular apn. I put my sim in a galaxy nexus and used the apn that gave me. Plus changing network mode. Thanks though!
I purchased a used N900T this past weekend to use with my already established straight talk (ATT) account. It was initially rooted and running stock 4.4.2, I swapped out the sim card from my LG E980 and set the APN but it would only connect to HSPA/HSPA+. MMS and everything else worked fine. I did a factory reset and that did not help. I updated the firmware to 5.0, that did not help. I have now switched the service to a straight talk t-mobile sim card (which LTE works fine again on my E980) and am getting the same HSPA/HSPA+ only on the Note 3. I've used LTE discovery and it shows NA for LTE with either sim card and auto band selection. If I force it into LTE only, all bands, LTE discovery will eventually show LTE band 4 but it still will not connect (either sim). I really have no ideas on other things to try, I know the APN is correct from the G pro. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, the IMEI in the phone is different front the sticker on the back. They IMEI on the back comes up as being financed on T-mobile, the IMEI in the phone shows that it's clear. I still haven't been able to figure this out, I'd appreciate any input.
I got my SM-G900P phone Internationally and Domestically unlocked, and while I can get voice to work on a T-mobile sim, I am unable to get data to work.
I'm currently on the stock Sprint 5.0 rom, I have also rooted the device.
I have also added the T-mobile APN, and have the network set to T-mobile, but still no luck
I'm not sure what I should do to get the mobile data to work.
Wondering if I flash a T-mobile rom, would that brick the phone? And would that unlock the bands?
Any and all help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
bump for some help
I know Sprint operates on CDMA while T-Mobile uses GSM technology.
I don't know if the G900P has the hardware capabilities to operate on GSM LTE bands. But it is interesting that you got the voice to work!
Try this page. He had a Verizon (CDMA) phone and got it to work on the AT&T (GSM) network. So apparently it is possible, and your situation is similar in trying to use a cdma phone on a gsm network.

Thanks for the link!
I already had tried what he did previously, adding the APN, sadly that didn't work for me . And once I had unlocked the phone I enabled GSF and got the voice to work. But sadly that's the farthest I've gotten
