[Q] Active phone call is muted automatically when opening browsing contacts - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
While making a phone call, the mute is enabled automatically when I press the 'add' button (right button) which shows me the contacts list.
I want to be able to see contacts information and read them to the person I'm talking with.
Any ideas?

Phone mode - use "up" button to scroll call history

Hi Everyone,
I switched to the Mogul from my old iJam TMO phone. With the old Windows Mobile 2003 system, in phone mode, when I press the "up" button, the phone opens the call history. This makes it very easy to make calls without searching contacts or using more actions to dial a number of get to call history via the menu.
In WM6, I noticed that the "up" button won't automatically open call history. I need to use Menu->Call History. Can the button be set up within the phone feature so the "up" button opens call history?

G1 Top issues (apps, fixes or workarounds available?)

Okay so I've been using the G1 for about a month now and since I can't find answers to these questions in the forums and I can't find any apps to help me, I thought it best just to be direct and lay it out for all you android genius' out there.
1. Very annoying that every time I hang up a call the screen locks. I still want to use the screen lock feature but I don't want it to happen every time I hang up the phone.
2. I'd like a quick way for calling the default number of a contact listed in the contact's list. If I tap the contact it takes me into the full contact information screen and then I have to pick the number to call. It would be nice if I could bring up the list of contacts or just begin typing a name anywhere in the OS (thereby bringing up the contact list) and simply select a name and have it dial somehow.
3. Is there a way to reprogram the volume control buttons on the side? It's in a very annoying position and while playing a game or running an app I constantly brush up against those buttons and the ringer volume pops up and messes up my gameplay.

Please form your questions in the form of a question.... Anyways..
1. My screen doesn't completely lock after a call, just press menu once afterwards and it is right back to where it was (for incoming calls), and for outgoing I don't think it even takes that - just pop back to where it was before I made the call.
2. If you long press on a contacts default phone number you can set it as the default phone number, then when you have that contact selected in your list just press the call button and it initiates a call with the default number. Doesn't get much easier than that. To clarify you don't even have to open the individual contact, just highlight it in your contacts list.
3. That would probably have to be an app specific option, but I don't know if that is even possible.
Why do you not use anycut and create a shortcut for your contact
Contacts not contact.
I don't want to have to make an anycut shortcut to every contact in my address book.
What I'm asking here is:
Is there any way to just simply tap a contact and have it call them. Is there a way to turn off the feature that locks the screen when you just tap the red phone button (for example maybe holding it down to lock so that when I just tap to end a call, it simply ends the call instead of also locking the screen).
All my questions revolve around doing in 1 click what most of you are suggesting doing in 2-3 clicks. Who wants to have to hit menu and end call every time you hang up? Single actions have been used since the invention of the phone for hanging up. Silly to have to click something 2-3 times to end a call without locking your phone.

accessing other applications while on a call

Hello, i would like to know how can i access other apps while im on a call. For e.g. i have received a new sms while on call, then tapping on the top of the screen where the notifications appear doesnt work! is there a way to access that area while on a call!
Whats the home button do for you whilst on a call?

Calling??????????

Can anyone help or is it the phone. When I call someone you can press the home button and go to other applications, like messaging, mediascape, etc. But if press the dialler button, or retreive call in the notification bar, you can only get that call. How do you access the contacts menu? I needed numbers of people twice and I couldn't go into them without dropping the call first.....
WHen you're on a call and you press the home button... the calls still working in the background and from there then you can press the application screen and then select phonebook, and scroll through your contacts there. Hope that helped.
Yeah, don't click on the Dialer to check your contacts in the middle of a call, go to Phonebook instead in the Apps list.

Galaxy S Bugs/Problems after Froyo

HI Guys,
I am trying to make a list of all the bugs/problems introduced in Galaxy S i9000 after an update to Froyo
Music Player:
1. When you minimize the music player while playing a song and open it via clicking the button on the notification bar, there is no way you can get the Playlist/Artists/Albums list. you have to open the player again from the shortcut.
Phone:
1. Often when you are using speakerphone during a call and end the call the speakerphone icons stays in the notification bar and if you call again, the speaker button remains enabled until you disable it manually.
2. Phone log now shows messages as well and there is no option to show only phone calls, you can select between missed/received/dialled but not all calls only.
Contacts:
1. Some alphabets are missing from the alphabet list, this is not a problem in itself but if you touch the list to scroll through the alphabets you cannot reach the contact names which start with the hidden letters. You have to manually scroll up or down the list.
2. Contacts are not being linked automatically from facebook with phone contacts
Phone vibrates as if force closing an app but no app is closed.
Gps icon remains on even after switching it off.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
If a song is paused for about 5mins the music player will automatically be killed, thereby losing the position of where the song was, and it's place in a shuffled playlist. Really quite frustrating.
For the call history, select Contacts and then History.
Press menu, and you can select which calls you want to view.
Sadly, the phone does not remember the selection, and it only works in the history that is shown in Contacts.
