HELP! Phone is stun in odin mode! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

So I keep trying to just reset my phone to factory setting or even just turn it on. Nothing is working. My phone boots up into this screen
Could Not boot Normal Mode
Odin Mode
Product Name: SGH-i337
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
CSB-Config 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
Then has the droid underneath it says downloading... and do not turn off target. Ive let it sit there for awhile and nothing seems to work.
Please help me out.

Try recovery? Do a factory reset.

When i try to reboot into anything it goes straight to this.

3 button combo.
Hold power, home and volume up.
When the blue texts shows in the upper left corner of the splash screen, release power and continue to hold the home and vol up buttons. You will get to recovery.

Yea i understand where your trying to get me. It used to go there. But now the second I try any sort of power up it gets to the screen and shows the blue text in the top left for a split second and then goes straight to odin

Trust me, it should work, just try. That is a method if the 2 button combo does not work.

I was able to get my phone to turn back on. But getting into recovery mode is not happening. I've done the buttons I've done the settings reset. All of them when I try to reboot it goes straight to Odin mode. Nothing else. I help the 3 down for 2 mins and still just went and stayed Odin.

Are you holding volume up or down?
Sent from my SGH-I337 using xda premium

Did the op try to flash a recovery and rom on mf3, because if you did you're hosed. You won't be able to get into recovery. Not even sure jtag will help you.

happened to me yesterday...download Kies and go to tools and do the emergency firmware tool thing...put in your model SGH-I337 and your serial number and assuming your computer reads your phone in odin mode (it should if you have the drivers that come with kies) then sit back and let it restore your device to factory stock...
I did it successfully and rooted with motochopper. Now im currently running Kangabean 4.3 with no problems whatsoever.

Volume up. Because down is for odin

Maybe try adb
adb wait-for-device reboot recovery

I had a similar issue like yours earlier.. I had to pop the back off my nexus and disconnect the battery. I rebooted into recovery and fixed the problem there by using the all in one tool kit through my pc.
I had the same exact issue less than a week ago....all I had to do was hold all 3 buttons (power, volume up and down) till screen goes blank...then quickly let go and hold those same 3 buttons down and poof...your back in fast boot mode....there you can flash back to the Google stock IMG....it worked for me after hours of trying to figure out how to get off that Google screen....lemme know how it works for ya.

Exactly. 99% of people don't know what bricked is lol...
You are correct there, they really don't know what a brick is, a brick is you hit a button and NOTHING happens, soft brick is any type of display comes up, it is a soft brick..and CAN BE FIXED.

No command recovery screen

I have a brand new nexus 7 and I haven't unlocked the bootloader or rooted. I'm trying to sideload the kitkat update but whenever I try to boot into recovery it brings up the no command screen in recovery . From there I tried holding power and volume up and it just boots into the same screen that says no command. Is an unlocked bootloader required to sideload or is there something I'm doing wrong?
Did you try holding the power button and just tap the volume up button instead of holding it? Should work, it's what I did and it got me into recovery to finish the side load

Press a key (Vol+ or power or.. ) and you should see some options to choose. I was hanging at the same point when I was rooting my device...

I had this when running TWRP and if I remember you hold the "off" button down until it starts to reboot and then quickly hold the up button while it's rebooting.
You may be able to just hold the start and up button at the same time then turn the start button loose when you see the logo.
Again; I can't remember exactly what I did but it's safe to say to device is not broken.
One note: I was never able to get TWRP to run correctly (consistently) on this device without at least some issues.
I use CMR with no problems.
Also when I had this problem i had to do a complete wipe to get completely into download mode...
Good luck...

That's correct! it will auto restart so you have to get your timing right. Try holding down the start button and as soon as the screen goes blank release the start button and grab the up button..

Help no os installed but have twrp

Ok completely wiped out my g2 and tried fastboot laf.img to restore download mode.i was also able to flash rogers twrp through fastboot but nothing to flash or restore.the laf.img did not work.all img flashed and said ok.the directions after fastboot reboot says as soon as i see ok i should power off my phone immediately, unplug from usb computer and plug back in while holding vol up key and should enter download mode.my issue is,it says if i cant remove my battery i should enter fastboot reboot command and after that hold the power to power down while still hooked up to usb.i hold button but my phone wont turn off.it just bootloops untill i take my finger off power button so i cant power down.also is there a way to upload firmware or rom from fastboot?as i said before i can get into twrp but no firmware to flash.please help me.oh ya after i flashed laf.im i unplugged my phone(unplugged i can power down by holding powere until lg logo appaers and powers down)so i hold vol up and connect to computer.for a brief second i see download mode with ........ Behind the words but goes right back to fastboot mode.before i flashed laf.img i did not even see the quick download mode.so i know im on the right track.any help would be appreciated

If you can access TWRP recovery, you can shutdown your phone by going Reboot > Power Off.
Yes but you dont understand.the guidlines are very spacific that after all the fastboot flashing and final step says that after all flashing it says okay and to immediately power down either by removing battery or in my case with a rogers lg g2 where baterry removal is not an option it says type last command fastboot reboot and hold power while the phone powers down.but it will not power down while still plugged into usb port.well that cant happen as it loops itself.and same thing while i do button combo to get into twrp.i can do all the above no problem if the usb cord is not attached only when i unplug the usb it allows me to do combo and get recovery.i just cant get passed that point where all flashes okay and power down while still plugged in.omg this is frustrating.im gonna throw this damn phone out the window lol
