Hello everyone, I installed the CyanogenMod on my FIND5 but I have a problem: when I speack on the phone the other people don't hear me well. The communication is disturbed by noise comining from my microphone, above all when I speack loud. With the original ROM there isn't this problem.
Has anybody a FIX ?
Best Regards Negiot
I can't reproduce your issue. Witch CM-version are you on? I had the same problem with an offical beta a few month ago, so maybe updating to the newest nightly will fix it for you.

Hi, with the version cm-10.1-20130813-NIGHTLY-find5.zip same problem...
Thanks ngt
we just installed cm-10.1-20130819-NIGHTLY-find5.zip, same problem, I was able to solve it by enabling agc/aec/nc in /system/etc/audio_effects.conf (as in stock rom)

X909EROM_12_130828_Beta_full.zip, and guess what? the audio_effects.conf in it doesn't even have agc/aec/ns enabled in it!
This is what I found in Oppo's most current official rom:
Code:
# agc {
# library pre_processing
# uuid aa8130e0-66fc-11e0-bad0-0002a5d5c51b
# }
# aec {
# library pre_processing

cm-10.1-20130819-NIGHTLY-find5.zip + autoeffect enable, audio was ok
same setting with cm-10.1-20130821-NIGHTLY-find5.zip spotted again the problem, stock rom (from a dump) has the effects enabled, it has also other things but I think unrlelated, attached stock conf
rom fingerprint:
OPPO/oppo_12069/FIND5:4.1.1/JRO03L/1362469752:user/release-keys
Interesting. I didn't copy the whole file I just edited the CM one. I did it in a text editor and I made sure there was the same number of {'s as }'s and in the right places. Then I copied it back to the device and set the correct file permissions.
I decided to flash an old modem from the original stock rom and so far it appears to have helped. I will report back after a few days.
EDIT:
After a few days of reflection I am pretty sure this audio_effects thing is a placebo. Changing radios did had an effect. That is why I started a radio collection thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428241
please look at this post by Entropy512: http://www.oppoforums.com/threads/rom-4-2-2-official-cyanogenmod-10-1.1715/page-79#post-81485
it is a test build for people with this in-call audio distortion, test it and report back if it is better or worse
beware of the placebo effect!!
I personally tried to test the oppo find 5 against my nexus 4 because they share a lot of hardware (not sure if they have the same DAC or not) but I think my oppo's call quality has improved, but still not completely normal, and OTOH the headphone quality has gotten a little worse
has anyone tested this new test build for crackler oppos and reached some conclusions?
thks

Logcat is disabled. That makes this ROM unusable for development
Pretty sure logcat is disabled by default on all ROMs, including stock. You need to enter the service menu (*#*#2846579#*#*) and turn it on there.

Nope. That's not true. I have never run across ROM, that has logcat disabled and I tried a lot of ROM-s, believe me (stock and custom ones). Only with this one I get error message Unable to open log device '/dev/log/main': No such file or directory when I type logcat in console.
It seams that this is due to disabled logcat by the kernel. So if someone can switch that on or change kernel, that would be great.
Oh and *#*#2846579#*#* code don't work for me either. Maybe it works on some other Huawei model, it sure don't work on Huawei U8800 Pro with MIUI-112160 on board.

My experience with the stock ROM leads me to believe it is, but that's anecdotal. I have logcat happily working on my U8800Pro, though (Huawei 2.3.6 ROM, which is similar to stock, I must add, though). That-Guy's guide also makes a point of telling you to turn it on for zergRush to work, which relies on logcat.
The Chinese ROM post is lacking in details, but if we look at genokolar's source, you can see that the driver is told to read a setting from the modem to decide whether to enable logging (actually, genokolar's set it to always enable logging but with a stock kernel it reads that setting). Guess where you can set this modem setting? That's right! From the ProjectMenu, designed to edit a bunch of Qualcomm (modem) settings, that appears with a stock ROM when entering *#*#2846579#*#*.
It seams that this is due to disabled logcat by the kernel. So if someone can switch that on or change kernel, that would be great.

You can check if the actual logging function is disabled entirely in the kernel by doing "zcat /proc/config.gz | grep CONFIG_ANDROID_LOGGER". If it returns no, then it has been removed from the kernel. If it returns yes, then the setting needs to be toggled as per the above and That-Guy's guide.

Yeah... try with the stock ROM. Either this ROM is lacking the ProjectMenu.apk and MMI_Test.apk in /system/app or it needs to be run in another manner (genokolar adds an entry to the Settings apk in his CM7 ROMs).
qwerty12, thank you for comprehensive instructions and explanation. I'll check that next time if I have troubles with logcat. For now I guess I'll be using geno's Miui.us-1.12.16 witch serves me very well and has no issues with logcat.
Just hope that geno will make new version soon.

I checked "zcat /proc/config.gz | grep CONFIG_ANDROID_LOGGER" command, and it says: CONFIG_ANDROID_LOGGER=y.
I guess that means that logging is enabled by kernel It just need to be turned on. But unfortunately (*#*#2846579#*#*) code don't work. Is there any other way to enable logging?

Bug:Audiobook Player 2 not skipping to next track.
When I listen to audiobooks with Audiobook Player 2 it stops playing after every file if nothing else is going on with the phone(screen off). It is enough to press vol buttons or power button, then it starts with next file.
If I leave screen on, charger connected or have any other app in background doing something(for example downloading something with Opera), it skips automatically to the next file like it should.
It is almost as the phone enters some kind of sleep mode so it doesn't change track.
I have used this app with all other roms without problems. I have tried other audiobook players but this is by far the best that is why it is bugging me.
Can someone help? Could someone atleast try if the same thing happen to you? It is a free app.
Link to app: Audiobook Player 2
Edit: This problem has been atleast with last 5-6 versions of Aurora, since the earlier audio skipping track issue, but this is not the same problem.
For fellow Saunalahti users (and possible others in similar situation), here is a modified framework.jar (for Dzo's Aurora ROM versions 2.03_test and 2.04). It makes the phone stop thinking it's roaming when connected to an operator in the same country (operator with the same MCC to be exact). So, no more need to enable data roaming to use it at home network.
The concept is from here, although details differed a bit.
I take no responsibility for anything, and using this might incur costs in some countries (if an operator with the same MCC as your's allows data roaming for extra cost, or if I've f****d up something). With Saunalahti in Finland this works for me, and I did test it with a foreign SIM card and it identified roaming correctly. However, the risk will always be your own if you choose to use this.

I can confirm the camera issues. It's not always, but sometimes the photos get cropped, greened, pinked, doubled, and happened to me the issue you've reported too.
Using latest aurora and latest kernel (the one with some usb changes).
I'm not sure if this is the proper thread for this question so feel free to delete or move it to the proper place.
I was wondering what the downgrade procedure is. I'd like to go back to one of the official GB roms. Do I just follow the standard procedure as when upgrading an official ROM?

LGE612(f), CWM v6.0.5.0
Been using for three days now, works awesome on SKernel (RC3) and no battery drain issues so far ( I've only charged it twice in three days and it's still on 70%). My usage is mediocre, surfing videos on YouTube, using Whatsapp, less calling/sms, etc. Overall the rom is smooth (61-900mhz, smartassV2, noop) no problems yet. Though I don't know if this is a bug or app issue, when I try to change my profile pic on Whatsapp the image turns into super low quality one(blurred/pixelated) and I noticed that this is also happening on stock rom. It was not happening until a week ago or so, any suggestions?

No FM radio in CM, just deal with it, or go back to stock I don't remember quickmemo app, but I think apk can be pulled out from backup and installed on CM. If you really need this, I can try to look for this, because I've got cwm backup of stock rom.
Running latest CM11 beta 9.5 in my E610 and I'm experiencing strange freezes from time to time. Screen goes white and phone locks up, when booting the touchscreen doesn't work anymore.
Restoring system from a backup makes everything work again. What logs (and where are they) might help to figure out what's causing these lockups?
Cheers

I'm not responsible for anything that may happen to your device. I've tested this mod to the best of my abilities, but I can't guarantee anything. Make a complete backup before applying any of these changes. If you brick your device, boot loop, lose data, or etc...again, I'm not responsible.
CM12 - Working
- CM12S YNG1TAS0YL with stock kernel
- CM12 nightly with stock kernel
CM11 - Working
- CM11S XNPH30O, XNPH33R, XNPH38R, XNPH44S, and XNPH05Q with stock kernel
- CM11, PAC-man, crDroid with most recent kernels
- franco r35 kernel
CM12.1 - Not Working
- CM12.1 nightly (bootloop)
CM11 - Not Working
- LiquidSmooth ROM (mediaserver seg faults immediately)
- OmniROM
Also, I found a commit in the CM source that adds Voice Wakeup options to the Settings app. If the ROM doesn't have this code compiled into their Settings, the mod will probably not work. You'll still be able to go through the training process, however, I don't believe Google Now will launch because the intent action is never being set.
Instructions
1.) Backup any important data on your phone (files, pictures, etc.)
2.) Boot into recovery. I use and have only tested with TWRP
3.) Make a nandroid backup
4.) Flash the mod
5.) Reboot
Recovery
If you encounter any issues (e.g. bootloop) or just want to remove the mod, go into recovery and restore just the System partition from the backup you made earlier (this will preserve your Data partition).
After Installation
After installing, you'll get a notification to enable Voice Wakeup and to train your voice. You can do this now or skip it. It can always be setup later by going to:
CM11: Settings --> Voice Wakeup --> Retrain your voice
CM12: Settings --> Language & Input --> Voice Wakeup --> Retrain your voice
Also...
1.) Go into the Google Now settings and disable "OK Google" detection settings.
2.) Disable your lockscreen if on CM11S or CM12S...other CM11/CM12 based ROMs should work fine since the apk is signed correctly. Some users have reported being able to use a 3rd party lockscreen (e.g AcDisplay) as a work around for CM11S.
If something is not working for you, I need the following or I can't help...
- The ROM you're using (date/version too)
- The kernel you're using (date/version too)
- A description of the problem
- A logcat of the problem in action
Changelog
Code:
[I]4-14-2015[/I]
- New test version for CM12 based ROMs. I believe this should work with most kernels.
[I]Version 2.0[/I]
- CM11 based ROMs only
- Updated mixer_paths.xml with more recent version from CM11
- Deodexed, signed, and zip aligned VoiceWakeup.apk. The app can now bypass the lockscreen on CM11 based ROMs
Disabling the lockscreen is still necessary for CM11S ROMs because those keys aren't public
- Added a "loud" version. It increases the microphone volume levels to make it more sensitive
[I]Version 1.0[/I]
- Initial Release
Woow. It seems working flawlessly
me wanty. Hopefully you can post a how to in the near future

I bought the OnePlus One in August because I was interested in the always on listening feature that they showed off back in the Spring. So when I actually received the phone, I was pretty disappointed to learn that they took the feature out before shipping. Over the past couple weeks, I've been working on a way to get this feature back in the phone and I think I finally got it working pretty well. I've only tested it on the 25R and 33R builds, but it should work on most ROMs for this phone. The mod uses the always on low power core, so there's no significant drop in battery life. I know Qualcomm has some licenses for this IP, so I'm still trying to figure out if I can legally post the mod here. But in the meantime, here's a demo of it working...

Just curious, would this mod stop ota updates and if so is it easily reversible? Looks really nice.

looks cool, do keep us updated if you are able to share this "legally" or can you pm me the "not so legal" way? LOL
I didn't know I wanted this until now
That looks awesome
I've been trying to contact someone from the Cyanogen team to get some more information about posting this. If anyone has any contact info, either send me a PM or send them over to this thread.
To give a little more information about this mod, its essentially a port of the VoiceWakeup.apk I found here. If you use apktool to disassemble this file, it's easy to tell it came directly from Qualcomm. However, if the Cyanogen team intended to release this apk with the phone initially, then I'm assuming they already have some agreement in place with Qualcomm. So hopefully that also means it'll be ok for me to post this mod in the near future.

You would still be able to download the OTA updates, but you wouldn't be able to apply them since there would be changes to your file system. If you make a nandroid backup in recovery, then anything is easily reversible.
Thanks. Hope you can release this soon.

Looks great, wonder if the cm team is working to make it work by choosing you own wake up command. Had it on my find 7a and saying snapdragon was strange
If it's already freely available then it's unlikely to cause any more issues, depends on what did you do to"port" it I guess.
All the cm11s apps have been made available, so if it came from an existing rom I can't really see much of an issue. But I'm not a lawyer
Alternative is to post a walkthrough of your changes to the original.

Awesome work, hopefully you're and to post it up for us eventually.
Hi Everyone...I did a little thread cleaning. Please, lets not harass the OP about when this will be released. Like everything else on xda, it will be released when the developer is ready. Just as a reminder to everyone,
yes this is a hackers site, but certain things are not allowed. If the OP wants to make sure that he isn't violating CMs or Qualcomm's Intellectual Property then we should let him do this to his own satisfaction. Nobody
wants to see a modification removed because CM or Qualcomm complained.
Thanks!
This looks really good! Would love to have this feature, keep it up man
If you're worried about posting the modded APK and the IP issues, can you at least let us know what you modded so we can do it on our own?
had a quick play with it earlier,
Cm 11 nightly contains the background libs (except liblisten.so) but there's some java calls missing. Curious that cm have left most of the libs in place.
This is a build of Cyanogenmod 12.1 for the Tab S 8.4 LTE (SM-T705). This build is based on the last copy I had of Eousphoros' device tree source prior to them being deleted. All credit therefore goes to Eousphoros for the original port. I have only fixed a couple of build errors against the latest 12.1 source.
Please note that although I've checked that the basics are working there will probably be a few bugs. I don't think the device tree I had saved was the latest from the last of Eousphoros' builds so there may even be regressions from his last build. On the plus side the build should incorporate the security fixes in CM 12.1 since then.
I have limited spare time and I'm fairly new to building Android, so in all likelihood I won't be able to fix any issues you have quickly. I'll post a new build from time to time if people are interested, but don't expect daily / weekly builds.
**** Update 06/09/15 - I've made a new build which hopefully fixes the microphone during calls. Link is updated below.
**** Update 31/08/15 - It is my experience that the mobile data is a lot more stable if you have a KitKat radio installed and don't install the Lollipop libs. This is also backed up from comments in the thread I therefore recommend that if you plan on running this Rom you flash a KitKat radio. I use version T705XXU1ANF. I've put a link to this below (use the 'CP' slot in Odin).
Installation
Flash the zip file in recovery (I used TWRP)
Flash Google apps
If your coming from a stock Lollipop rom, rather than Kitkat, then you need to flash the lollipop-radio.zip. (this will give you the correct libs for the Lollipop baseband to get data working.) **** See note above. It is more stable to flash the KitKat modem.

you're right mate, this is a known issue for eusphorous cm12 build and this is based on that rom so no doubt it also got that bug. Didn't yet tried the rom so that i can also give a feedback. downloading.

@bu44er
many thanks for your great job !!!! you are the one and only, make offer to load a new CM 12.1 for my 705 !!! must flash it !!! thanks
Thanks should go to @mtdoughty as he's got everything work and has obviously worked hard doing so. I don't mind providing a permanent mirror for anyone who needs it.

Thnx @mtdoughty, much appreciated, testing right now.
Hmm, for me, youtube is not working, video wont start to play. Do I need to flash libs or install additinal video players?
Update: oh, youtube works with chrome, but not with the default browser for me ... strange.
@muff99
perhaps it may be that YouTube indeed his own player with brings, but in CM 12.1 the link missing for stock player samsung? I was already with earlier versions. the same can happen if I use the stock player on my ironrom uninstall, because I prefer to work with the MX Player. is just a thought, not a fact.
all things work great
call dial nd ending can b achieved by another external dialer app
bug mic not working unless ur r on speaker phone or headset
Is data working?
Data is working for me but I can barely use the phone for calls as the sound is very bad and drop the call frequently. I've tried with earphones, BT headset and the tab itself with the same bad audio.
Anyone with the same symptoms?
