Hi all,
The title mostly says it all.
I know that the Allshare Wireless Cast Hub Link only works with S3 and Note 2.
My wife has a Galaxy Note 2 and wants to buy that but I think it too expensive just to find out that one device would only work with it. I have Original Note, N7, and HP Touchpad (running Android) and hoping to make it work with this hub ... making it a justifiable purchase.
It looks like you need to enable Allshare cast in the Note 2 (from settings) in order for it to communicate with the Allshare hub.
From GN2 > Settings > More Settings > AllShare Cast > On or Off
which means that it is not apk based
I have a rooted N7 so I don't mind playing around with it.
But do you think this would even be possible?
Thanks
Hey guys!
Iam curious on how to use screen mirroring to play games on my LG smart tv
Do i have to buy this?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Wi-...-2&keywords=Samsung+WI-FI+All-Share+Cast+Hub,
Or this?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-WIS...-1&keywords=Samsung+WI-FI+All-Share+Cast+Hub,
Or something else, or is there another way to do it wirelessly without having to buy acessories?
Thanks in advance

I have one of these - Samsung Wi-Fi Display Hub for Galaxy S2/S3/S4/Note 2 - Black . Works well but I did find you need "Official" statuses in both bootloader and settings to work with my Note 10.1. Haven't tried with my S4... This is for total screen mirrorring. It shows everything I do on my tablet on screen...
The DLNA sharing is only for movies, music and pictures...
I have a Samsung TV and the DLNA works well...
My advice, look at the reviews and buy the cheapest if the TV you have doesn't support DLNA... I'd check that 1st...

My tv supports DLNA but I'm only interested on screen mirroring.
So that means even if I but the hub it won't work for me because I using omega rom?

Probably not though I have read in the note 10.1 forum of it working. Not to my experience however. I use a rooted stock rom on my SG Note 10.1 I have flashed using Mobile ODIN. I run triangle away 1st and get all Status's "Official" with 0 flash count but when I tried flashing other roms it went ass up... You might be able to try the workaround on triangle away but that requires the paid app...

Thanks. I can buy the app, that's no problem.
So all I need to get for screen mirroring is the hub not the dongle right?
Yep, the hub mirrors everything but the dongle actually says its a DLNA dongle...
screen mirroring
Purchase the allshare dongle, plug in to available hdmi slot, turn on your screen mirroring on your phone, dongle should be recognized...If you get error msg that cannot connect or find the dongle, make sure you have the latest firmware update for the allshare dongle
Hi,
Im hoping someone may be able to help. I've had an s3, s4, s4 lte and now the dual sim s4. Its a great phone however I cant seem to get the hdmi out working, this is important for me as I run an app radio in my car, so use my s4 for everything from music to sat nav etc.
With my mhl adaptor from my s3, from my S4 and a new s4 mhl 2 adaptor. Each does the same thing. If the connector is only pushed in partially (presumably so the first row of contacts meet) then it charges only. If its pushed in further then it does nothing, no charge and no hdmi.
Has anybody got the hdmi working on a dual sim s4?
Cheers Gav
Hello,
Unfortunately I have the same problem with my s4 i9502, no HDMI out on the Smartdock EDD-S20.
Maybye I will try with a stock ROM (Android 4.3 ?).
If anybody has ever succed to activate the MHL video on this phone, please advice !
I will also try with the samsung wireless HDMI receiver, hope it will work.
Regards
Hello,
What I have understood from the Chinese forums (Google translation...) is that it is a software / firmware limitation
The workaround that I have found (works on my i9502) is to use the samsung allshare cast dongle (HDMI wireless transceiver).
But it works only thanks to the modification of a lib (see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45605884, personnaly I used root browser app to do it).
It seems that flashing a stock Rom for a i9500 is possible (even if you lose the dual-sim function..) so this could enable the MHL function.
I do hope that one day someone will find the trick to make HDMI out works one the i9502.
Regards
I have been searching for hours and found nothing. Does anyone know a way to bring bluetooth tethering to att galaxy s4 i337 (rooted).
I only need this to be able to use the custom firmware features on the galaxy gear. Third party apps wont work to connect it to the tether via bluetooth.
Hello,
My grandpa would like to watch YouTube on his living room TV, and you never say no to your grandpa
So, I recalled Galaxy S3 has Miracast support for mirroring and I ordered a Miracast dongle. However, It seems he don't have Galaxy S3, but a Galaxy S3 Neo+. I couldn't find any option to turn on Miracast on the stock phone (even though it has WiFi Direct) and when download an app from the market, it indeed opens Miracast/mirroring settings windows I could not access from the Settings, but scanning does not seems to work at all.
Anyone had managed to get Miracast working on S3 Neo? I prefer not to root and install a new ROM if possible.
Thanks!
