App to manually execute TRIM command? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if it would be possible to have an app, or even if anyone knows how to activate it manually, to execute the TRIM command? I turn my tablet off when I'm not using it, and as such my tablet will never get TRIMed unless I do. Even on my laptop's SSD, I run TRIM manually instead of it being automatic. Is there a command that can be run to activate it manually? Thanks!

Lagfix. But I'm not sure it works on 4.3. due to the automatic trimming.

The busybox versions that come either with pulser_g2's cm-10.2 or craigacgomez's flaming monkey roms have fstrim build in.

There's no reason it wouldn't work, and it does. But running fstrim() can be relatively expensive in terms of resources (read: you can't really do anything safely with the device with Lagfix running, which is why it likes to stay in the foreground), and the system will do it when it gets a free moment, so there's not really a great reason to manually induce it.

you could:
1. turn it off in settings
2. try Autorun Manager to prevent it's autostart (or of any other unnecessary app)
3. check the thread on Note apps safe to remove
Appreciate it thanks.... Been a while since I used Android, still playing catchup....

Does drop box work on the N7?

Whenever I open dropbox, get "dropbox has stopped working" is it just me, or does it just not work?

Works for me, but whenever I get an app that does that I clear the cache and data then reboot and log in again. So far that has cleared up any issue with an app that is compatible with any of my devices.
Been working fine for me since day one. Have you tried re-installing?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Perfectly okay with me. I can even stream movies from my Drop Box without cluttering with my clearwire 1.5 Mbps wifi !

Clear app data and cache. Uninstall then reinstall.
Tried all of the above and still doesn't work, I'm using the tablet UI if that has anything to do with it, but I doubt it would.

Did you tweak the dpi? Does any other cloud service do the same? Try minus, cubby, skydrive, etc...
But saying that, dropbox has been working since day 1 for me as well.

That's why it does not work. Go back to the standard dpi and get it setup. I think you can then change dpi and it will work.

I used the True Tablet Ui Patch (Link) And completely forgot to make a backup beforehand, Not sure if I can just change the DPI back again, But I'll check.
Edit: I can't, The DPI is currently at 213 |:
Edit 2: Got it working, thanks for the help.

I have been wanting something like this as well.
To have an application to do this though, you would have to have two parts two it.
First part would be an app on your Android device, and the other part would be something that runs on a computer @ the house.
Reason for this is because you would want a secure connection between your phone and the app. Otherwise, anyone/everyone would be able to access your home automation system.
If there is anything like this, that would be awesome, but I don't think there is
The closest thing you can get to it is HomeSeer, but it isn't voice activated. It's only buttons.
If anyone knows of a program that would do voice activation home automation, please let me know!

[ROM][PORT] CyanogenMod 9 for Motorola XPRT

Hello one and all. I'm sure plenty of you have used Rongsang's cm7 and maybe even his cm9. All of the work done here is done by him. I am simply applying gradual fixes. And organizing it. But anyways. Enjoy. If your phone causes nuclear radiation and kills your family I am not responsible and your warranty is void.
Rongsang's orginal: http://www.mediafire.com/?l9h87rbn37w209y

CM9Fix3 Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?p7avq0i2jy9ma59
Required google apps: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?vj5z8582ody619p
Currently working:
-Fixed @ key causing email to open
-Added su binary. No need to manually flash su.
-Applied a fix for the camera. Let me know if it works. I don't have time to flash this crap. I'm in high school.
-Recovery. Press down volume when notification light turns blue during boot.
Not working:
-(Camera?)
-MMS messaging.
-Me. I am unemployed. Lolz.
-Let me know what else.
Instructions:
1 Full wipe (Factory reset)
2 Flash CM9
3 Flash Gapps
4 Fix permissions. Just to be safe.
5 Reboot.
Looking forward to everyones feedback! Enjoy!
PS. Don't thank me for the rom. Just the fixes. Rongsang gets the credit here.
Changelog:
Fix1: Hopeful camera fix. Su. @ key fix.
Fix2: Forgot su. Whoops.
Fix3: Restored the 2init bootmenu.
The magical problem post!
Problem 1: "The physical keyboard launching apps is still a problem I have. You fix it by pressing the search softkey once, and then you should be able to type normally. If you press it again, it'll go back to launching apps, so be careful not to accidentally touch it. I'm not sure how to completely fix it, so I've just learned to live with it."
Fix 1(Credit to Rongsang): "This occurs when there's a mixup in keychars and keylayout.
Open up terminal and run
ls -l
In /system/usr/keychars and /system/usr/keylayout folder"
Problem 2: My video doesn't work! :c
Fix 2(credit to tzuba12): "For videos, download videocam Illusion from the playstore, which let's you capture video perfectly."

my keyboard back light is no longer lighting up? If i adjust the brightness of the screen it will come back on but as soon as i turn the screen off and then turn it back on, it doesnt light back up.
Not really a huge problem.
EDIT: its working again. Also this was a problem before i rooted my phone. So..yeah.

For now to get mms working fully, just download gosms pro. For some reason, it works.
As for the backlight problems, I think its just a bug with the xprt. This always happened even before I rooted or flashed any roms.

I found that in my phone the other day too. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't really do anything.
Could be a log file. I'm not sure what it is. I would scan again once it appears. Not sure if it is I needed file or not. I don't have a nex 4 but was looking into getting one that's why I'm at the forum.
You can try sd maid which has a system cleaner. Or change the files permissions if you are worried about it transmitting data. But I wouldn't mess with it too much until you figure out what it is.

You guys could wipe your sdcard with twrp if you are worried, but back up all your wanted sdcard data to a computer first. And then put it back on right after. I do that with my Nexus 7 sometime. Not sure if it is the same process on Nex4. It may not be necessary, not sure.
