Pretty sure I can move icons freely and create folders as I want.
And for availability, got it the first day it launched in my country(Canada). Didn't wait in line or anything...

Limited availability isn't even a valid complaint of the product. its a criticism of where you bought the device from. They were readily available at Walmart, Office Max, Best Buy, and Staples for me. I went with Walmart to get my standard 10% discount, but I could and still can go anywhere and see at least 5-10 ready to be bought.

Hatchet job.
At least list some real negatives like GPS busted, random reboots, and inconsistent touchscreen.
The stuff they listed is so minor and not even correct in one case.
I have not seen a single revue with a defective tab...

You are remembering correct. Very simple, just drag an icon and release on top of existing icon. Boom automatic folder created. Can put the folders in the app bar also.

The speakers are strategically placed to give stereo spread and still keep the device this with a thin bezel.
I don't understand how the last model had a single crappy speaker, this one has stereo and it is a disadvantage because of placement?

I got to play with it as well. This phone is pretty sick. The camera is pretty awesome. The zoe feature sold me. You can basically create a movie with it. Lol. The phone is smooth and very responsive. The blink feed is nice as well. The front facing camera is best I've ever seen. It has the capability to be used as a tv remote. The aluminum body felt great and not cheap in the hands. I have the note 2 and think I will buy this phone as well. The list of new features goes on and on. I know its just a colour but i quite like the white as I'm sure others do to. But with very little In the way of actual confirmation I have been disappointed.
Every day I check xda for news or leaked info etc but nothing.
Surprisingly though I found this info else where on the nexus 4 production dates thread and seems to be widely missed. Although It may have been brought up I am unaware of it.
Viva... Something or other (sorry on the mobile app and can't remember your username) posted up a link to a service update PDF from lg which includes lots of info about changes made and dates these were introduced
If you look at the most recent ones at the end of march that discuss changing the supports for the volume rocker on the phone it specifically states two different part numbers one for a white volume rocker and one for a black.
So if this is at the end of march then a may launch of white seems ever more likely
Anyway here is said manual to download thanks to viva

Can we think beyond hegemonic masculinity here? These are phones. Some people like to have color choices for the devices they're buying. Doesn't mean you have to buy that color or like it yourself.
From the PDF

I hope nobody gets offended by me asking this, but is the galaxy tab 2 7.0 still worth getting right now? I was thinking of getting a 7 inch tablet with a rear camera. I don't need a super great camera because its more on taking pictures of receipts and docs. Maybe a few normal pictures. I know it has JB so that's great. Its has gps, bluetooth, otg, and the good stuff like that. I'm afraid that the tablet may have run its course already. Is the processor going to keep up much longer or will it be considered to far back like the 1ghz single core? I want to get it and last more than a year or a year and a half without problems on performance and stuff. I've seen the 8gb wifi version for around $170. Or should i wait for something else to pop up?

I do not have a ton of insight on the subject, but while I'm happy with my tab, other companies are producing tablets with better specs in the gtab 2's price range, and as some of them are much newer, like one of asus's new tabs, they might have a longer shelf life, support wise and hardware. Personally, i enjoy all the dev activity we have on this tab.
Edit: acer not Asus. Asus's 7 inch 150$ is lower in specs.

Nexus 7 has no camera? Man, maybe that's why it has better specs than the Tab 2.

most people are like oh galaxy s3 or iphone this.. never hear someone say oh gotta get that new acer tablet lol
I say the tab 2 for the price. is still a pretty good deal. but i have no use for a wifi only tab. which i why i spent extra to get the 3100 instead.. still the cam sucks but for quick shots outside etc. its fine..
There are better tablets out there. and not so better tablets out there. the tab 2 is right in the middle. 179 on amazon for the wifi only.. pretty good deal to me.

Hey thanks everyone. I didn't want to jump into a tablet and then regret it, not because something better came out, but of the tablet not being up to par anymore.

I got a GT 2 7.0 few months ago. I considered Nexus 7 and waiting a little for other tablets to come out, but ultimately bought GT2 7.0.
1. Nexus 7 doesn't have external SD card support. If you are taking pictures, you would probably want to expand storage. And Nexus 7 doesn't have a rear camera.
2. There are other low-price 7-inch tablets coming out, like Asus Memopad (no rear camera) and Acers. But, you will never get to buy a tablet, because there will always be a new, cheaper, better tablets coming out.
3. Longevity of the tablet will depend on what you are using the tablet for. The specs and OS version do not determine how long it will last. Old smartphones (android/Apple/ others) will still work, if they are still capable of doing what you need them to do. Old Gingerbread/ICS android phones/tablets are still perfectly fine, because they still can run all the apps and do everything it should.
Specs also are a minor issue, because it will just mean that it will take few more seconds to load and run.
If GT2 7.0 will do everything you want it to and it makes sense financially, you should get it. If another tablet makes sense, you should get that one. If you are not looking to suddenly play graphic-intensive 3D games on the tablet, any tablet will last you a long time. From what you described, you may even be able to get by with a no-name brand tablets for cheaper. But, GT2 is a quality product and a good choice for the money you are going to spend.

4.5 GB internal storage for apps and such.
For those on the fence, how about a $138 Like New Tab 2 7.0 shipped from Amazon Warehouse? Check it out.
The only problem with this device is the screen (it is only a MDPI). In the future, Google will only be supporting HDPI and above I think.. So, probably no Key Lime Pie for the Tab 2.
The rear camera on Tab 2 lacks AF, so it is useless for trying to get clear captures of receipts or even scanning QR codes, which the threadstarter did mention was a reason to consider Tab 2.

Hey everybody! I want to know whether buying the developer unlocked M7 from HTC is worth the $649 asking price or is the HTC One X Plus the better option being generally $200 cheaper with its 1GB Ram and 64GB internal memory and quadcore chip? I must admit the non-removable battery has me leaning on a Sammy Note 2 but is there a way to restart these devices without removing the battery for those of us who customize our devices? In other words, from a frozen state or the need to reboot the device, is there an iron clad way to restart the phone in these conditions...and I don't mean give it a dunk or a bat or use to skip on a pond. For those of you who have in your possession a M7...is the hardware living up to the specs? Thanks!

You can reset it by holding the power button, like the Nexus 4, or any iPhone. You don't need to ever remove the battery. I never once removed my battery in my Note, Note II, or S3. People act like it is such a big deal, it really isn't.

I'd say go with the One. It is a bit more expensive, but you'll have the highest end device currently available (to prevent any flaming: this is my personal preference. The Galaxy S4 is also great, but I dislike the design of the SGS4 and really like htc Sense) and you will most certainly be good to go for another 2 years minimum. The X+ is also great, but the tegra chip and battery life disappointed me greatly on the One X. I can't say anything about the Note 2, but I've heard good things about it. What I dislike about it is the giant screen, but that's again personal preference.

Note 2 because
Better screen ( bright power efficient amoled vs slcd)
Better battery life + removable
Better storage options

No blinkfeed
Better camera 8 vs 4 mp
The only real benefit with a htc one would be build quality which is nice, but the note 3 should feature better build quality.

No. No, you don't. It's an opinion and has precisely zero to do with any "logic" that's actually veracious. Try again.
Your rationality behind why it's better (notably the AMOLED) is laughable. Why don't you add hyper-contrasted colors to that list since it's a widely held belief? Or the fact that most people find Samsung's UI ugly as sin? Or that the argument between 8 MP/ 4 MP is a total understatement? Or that you'd have no real way of speaking to the battery life of either device since they haven't even been in the hands of consumers yet?
These questions are, of course, rhetorical.

Pixel count is irrelavant nowadays im talking about the power efficient vibrant nature of amoled.
Spen is very popular in my circles and adds so much to the business experience. Note 2 is for bosses.
You say change the homescreen but why have it in the first place? Just another gimmick.
Yes better camera. Note 2 camera is one if the best all rounders there is. Htc one is only good for low light shots.

You clearly lack reading comprehension. They aren't facts. They're your misguided opinions. Plus, you haven't even touched either of the devices before so it's obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I have had a play with a htc one device a couple of days ago in a phone shop. Salesman was trying to sell the one to me on a 2 year contract. 15 mins after droning on about '1080p' , 'zoe' and 'blinkfeed' i just pulled out my 5.5inches of amoled perfection and was on my way.

Just out of interest have Samsung solved the loose battery problem in the note 3, you know where the device will switch off if it gets a knock? I know that wedging it in with a slip of paper helps but why should you have to do that in a high end device?

Never had that issue with mine or others whom own the device. Sounds like an early batch issue.

Clearly, you went into the shop just to show off your note 2. There is no hope for you.
Running Paranoid Android and in playing with the One I have noticed it is generally smoother. Could this be the software?

its the hardware, and maybe some proprietary bits in the software.
I thought with the s4 pro we were at the point we had more power than was needed to run our phones at top speed though. Was I wrong?

there are always optimizations that can make thing a little better. most of the optimizations(like dalvik) on nexus phones would be propritary. plus the cpu is a more recent revision(among other things).

Ya Android could be optimized more. **** the extra bells and whisles that come with the next version, give me a god damn smooth experience!! Seriously, Nexus 4 should be butter. BUTTER!!!

Of course it's faster. It has a Snapdragon 600 processor. In other breaking news, water is wet, and the sky is blue.

I agree. Android should be optimised for the Nexus range ONLY, like Apple do with iOS. Only then will it ever be a perfectly smooth experience.
If other companies wanna put out 15 Android phones a year, then they should do their own optimisations to ensure it runs properly.

They do do their own optimizations... they optimize their Android manufacturer skins (TouchWiz, HTC Sense, etc)
It may feel faster but that's only cos of the transitions HTC have added in, they have minimised many that are in stock android and sped up a few as well, thus overall giving the illusion that it runs faster :L

Its probably the software HTC uses. Try the S4 Touch wiz launcher on the Nexus 4. Really smooth. Smoother than the stock one

That's bs. Any truthful Nexus 4 owner will tell you that there's still lag and slowdowns here and there. If Google had more ex-engineers from apple then we'd probably have better software *cough* camera.

i hear, rumors of course, that they are gonna focus(pardon the pun) on the camera on the next nexus.
The HTC One is a beautiful device. It's specs are amazing. I just wish it didn't have to cost over $500-$600. It would be sweeter if HTC makes the next Nexus smartphone.

I'd have to avoid it. I hate HTC. My phone LCD cable stops working and you know what they told me?
"You took the HTC dev unlock, it'll cost $250 to fix"
Yes because software breaks your display cable. And thats when I ran it over with my truck

Well they had their turn with the first one... supposedly right now it's between Motorola and LG. It would be weird if it was LG again, from what I heard before Google liked to switch from manufacturer to manufacturer for promotional purposes.

I think a Sony Xperia Nexus sounds pretty neat. But if Google makes a Motorola Nexus, it better be mind blowing.
