Hi everybody, I am a newcomer here...
I want to upgrade my s5360 from gingerbread to jellybean..before that I want to make a backup for IMEI i.e efs folder. but the folder is empty. I tried efs professional 2.0.46 and and 2.0.62 both. but failed. each case showed the meassage as shown in attachment picture.
device running on gingerbread 2.3.6 based on DDMD1 and is rooted. busybox 1.20.2 installed .net framework 4.5 and usb cable driver installed on pc .
is efs professional is compatiable for galaxy y? any help? if it don't work, is there any other way to make IMEI backup? thanks in advance..
for efs backup you can use the galaxy toolbox from store.

You can make a backup with TitaniumBackup from the market or make a NandroidBackup with a CWM Kernel!
To fully restore your phone, you can search an original ROM for your country from samfirmware.com and flash it via odin, than everything is Stock...
Is there a way to download samsung oficially ROM, which can be updated with samsung KIES?

i thought that it wasn't a big problem and i had just to install a stock rom
i put in recovery mode and wipe everything
but when i hit "reboot system now" appeared a message

E:failed to mount /data
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_log_files_to_data
::can't mount /dataReb
ooting...
i tried connecting the phone to Odin but the process didn't finished
and the bootlop continues... plz heelp ;-;
Your problem seems to be a corrupt data partition .. try searching for tingtingin user's thread. Which will give you the solution for it I think..

dear sir.....My Samsung galaxy y s5360 ......i am using differnt roms .......and i am very sad now ...because my imei no. has been lost ...and i unabe le to call and sms .....imei no...is NULL.....and i have back to STOKE ROM then also nothing happens.....and i have no back up of ief or any thing....please sir give me a way to slove this problem...??!!

Change your baseband to a new one

This problem is most likely is due to "corrupted firmware" the frm ware you are flashing is corrupted....may be.... re download the latest from doky's thread and again flash... if still the prob persists..then download galaxy y PIT file and re partition...... May be your frnd was using some CUsTOm rom which uses Other FILE system ext-4 etcetc..... so re partition and flash with new fresh downloaded firmware....press thanks if i helped

yeah try flahing a new basband version...if still not works then theres a software called " EASY IMEI v1.01" you can use it to write IMEI on phone...copy your imei from cell phones box

Where did you get the firmware from and have you installed the samsung usb driver
Brazil firmware for the 5360b can be found on my firmware thread along with the drivers and full instructions - link in my signature or top of dev section- use odin version 3.07 as later versions may not work
For imei make sure you are using the correct firmware baseband kernel ril combination - you can change rils by reading the ril thread - link in my signature - or change baseband/kernel to the correct combination

And the answer is because it has not been signed correctly - resign the apk with a platform key with zipsigner from the playstore and reflash it

I have a Galaxy S3 currently running Paranoid Android 3.99-RC1. I just flashed this today from Cyanogenmod and everything went pretty smoothly except that when I was setting up the phone there was no mobile network. I investigated and the Baseband version is Unknown and I can not do anything else with my phone.
I have looked everywhere on what to do, but I am not 100% sure and would appreciate some guidance.
Should I just go ahead and flash the stock rom to backup imei and efs folder? - I don't think I did this before.
With Root Browser I did find this: efs folder --> imei folder ---> mps_code.dat
When I do the *#06# IMEI is blank.

Switch to TWRP recovery and flash the ROM again

The post above me won't help. I had the EXACT same problem. Switched from CM to PA 3.99 RC2 for my GS3 AT&T.
Odin flash the stock ROM for your specific device. Essentially un-root it. Then you will have to re-root it.
This is pretty much guaranteed to work.
Good luck. Sorry, it is a bit of a process. Finding the stock rom can be slightly annoying too.
i9305 not support (hope - only at the moment)
Hello, I also had the problem with my SG3 - i9305, but didn't figure out how to solve that "no baseband problem".
Tried different basebands, flashed from different recoverys (TWRP, new and older versions, same with CWM), finally gave up and went back to PA3.65 wich worked so far (luckily I had a working backup copy).
Do you have an i9300 or i9305 ?
So - for the i9305 thinks look bad, 'cause the developer has stoped this...

1 I have firmware.apk and many app .apk like systemui. Apk Settings.apk. video.apk that I copy them from another s4 phone sprint 4.2 that has already has translated rom
How to install the system . Apk files on my s4 ?
2 I make full backup using custom recovery from s4 sprint 4.2 sprint that has translated rom.
can I make restore from this backup to use it in my s4 s4 sprint using cwm recovery ?
To get my rom translated like the other s4?

I have a very big problem. I've got a fake IMEI after flashing a custom rom and I can't find my IMEI Backup anymore.
I tried many solutions but nothing helps.
Device Info:
Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500
Country: Vietnam
IMEI:004999010640000/01 (I think it's a fake IMEI, so it's useless for everybody and i can post complete no.)
Tried Fix:
Downgrade Stockrom 4.2.2 from Vietnam
File: I9500XXUBMG1_I9500OLBBMF9_XXV.zip
result: No Fix
After Downgrade, Upgrade to 4.4.2 Stock from Vietnam
File: I9500XXUFNB7_I9500OLBFNB4_XXV
result: No Fix
Flash some other Modems (not all in threadt)
result: No Fix
EFS Restore with "EFS Professional"
result: No Fix
Copy EFS folder to Windows & edit with HxD-Tool (nv_data.bin & serial_no)
result: No Fix
I hope you can help me. I know there are very much threads in XDA but nothing works and most threadts are very old.
Maybe i'm to stupid... ~.~

Yu need special tools lik z3x or spt or octopus Samsung Repairing Box
Vit these tool yu can repair efs, write original imei back etc
Otherwise bettr find a gud mobile service center. They vil fix yur prob vitin 30min
