Aloha People!
Just got my Fascinate and damn its good! I noticed that my volume rockers makes noises when the phone is shook. I heard it first when I was playing with it and realized it was the rocker. The rocker itself doesn't feel loose but when the I shake the phone I can hear it rattle.
Did I get a lemon? Or is it normal?
Thanks!
I've had mine since launch and it does that. I dunno why but it doesn't bother me I love this thing.

I don't want to if its normal.
I'm not saying its normal. I got mine on launch day at a local store and when I shake it I can hear the rocker but it doesn't actually feel loose so I'm not to worried about it. Its a judgement call man.
they call me...kick ass
Mine rattles. Is it mildly annoying? Yes. Does it in any way want me to exchange my Fascinate for anything else? Heck no!!!
Mine has has the volume rocker rattle since day one. It works fine and doesn't even really feel loose. I bought a silicon case for it and now the volume rocker doesn't rattle anymore.
I'd say it's normal. Drove me nuts at first but the case has solved my issue.
My Vibrant had this issue and it is a manufacture defect. I had it replaced with a fresh new Vibrant.
My girlfriend's fascinate's volume rocker does not rattle. It is a known defect for the Vibrant so maybe it's the same for the Fascinate.
Yeah mine rattled from day one. I'm going to the Verizon store to get a replacement this weekend.

any luck? I found that its the back cover that doesn't sit flush with the volume rocker that causes it to rattle.
I got mine last week and it doesn't rattle.
This is my second android phone since the G1 and I just switched from a blackberry. This phone amazes me everyday
One thing I don't like is that it's hard to select between letters when I want to correct something and I can't select texts from websites and emails.

Well i went to the VZ store. The rep there told me that it is a known thing on the fascinate and is common on all of them. He replaced mine anyways and i noticed it didn't really rattle and it felt like it was on there pretty tight. That was until i started taking the battery cover off. So in other words i think you are right

Last week, my keyboard suddenly started sounding like it wanted to metamorphosize into a kazoo.
Pressing any key will give a sound similar to crinkling wax paper. Even just gliding the tops of the keys (without pressing them in) will produce the same sound, and about just as loud as pressing any key down.
Can anyone help shed some light as to what happened? Is this something I can resolve in a Sprint store, or with Squaretrade, since I have Squaretrade coverage?
Thanks in advance.
Go in to Sprint - if you're not stock, Odin to EC05 - and complain. They'll fix it.

Your phone is actually midway through the metamorphosis to becoming a nexus s 4g. step one being that the keyboard dries up and falls off.
Haha on a serious note, though, like k0nane said. take it to sprint once you flash back to stock as that is clearly a manufacturing defect.

This is a shot in the dark, but on a lot of electronics I have taken apart over decades there can be super thin layers of plastic that are there doing god only knows what. Often it is on the back of rubberized keyboards and joysticks. If there is that sort of thing in the keyboard unit, yours may be peeling off and creating that sound.
Hello,
I received my RMA of Nexus 4 today and it was rev 11 (my original one being rev10). The first I noticed was that the vibration on this phone is completely different. Its awkwardly loud. Even on touch it feels different, my original phone was nice soft vibrate on it.
Just want to know if anyone else who got rev 11 got the same thing? or I should consider RMA again?
Thanks.
If they fixed it then that's great. LOL I have my phone on my desk at work on soft cloth and most times I don't hear it vibrate so I miss a ton of calls. With other people at work they have iPhones and I can hear their phones vibrating from my desk!
I have a rev 10 and yeah, definitely soft on the vibrate, can barely feel it if it's in my jacket pocket.
The N4 uses an oscillating type of vibrator rather than the more common rotating type. It's definitely more subtle and less punctuating in feel compared to the One X, for example.

Yeah I on the other hand liked the soft vibrate of rev 10. This just feels ackward. However its definately loud enough to notice. I just want to confirm that this is a fix or my vibrate is just badly setup or something,

No. There's something wrong. You should RMA again immediately. And then again. And again. And again.

You can change the vibration intensity if you're rooted. You can do it manually or with custom kernels.

I definitely feel this way too. I'm using my original N4 ordered back on the first release in November and I RMAed due to the buzzing ear piece issue and the vibe on the new N4 produced Jan 8 sounds hollow and tinny and feels quite weak.
Is there a point in returning this one again and hoping to get a stronger vibrating phone?

Sounds like a hardware issue. Does it get better if you give it a knock with your hand?

Turned out it was CM - turning off touch sounds fixed (he posted in CM thread also)
Hi everyone,
I just made a quick video to show how loose the buttons are on my new Nexus 6P that I received yesterday. I'm more concerned about the volume rocker, it feels like it will fall off. I never experienced these issues with my Nexus 5. Anything else is in perfect condition, still amazed how prime quality this phone feels like.
If you have the same problem, please let us all know.

I received my device 2 days ago (64 alu) and the buttons are very sturdy, I don't have the "too sensitive power button" issue and they are not loose at all.
Yeah I noticed that the power button on my graphite 64gb is a bit loose. The volume rocker seems pretty sturdy for me though.
What case is that

So when you place the finger on the rocker and try to move it sideways, it does not move at all? You can can see on my video how loose the buttons are.
Thanks guys for letting me know if you have the same issue, I might endup have the unit RMA'd.

No the volume rocker is sturdy and doesn't move. The power button on the other hand doesn't feel sturdy and moves sideways
Your unit is faulty, the rockers doesn't move about like that.
I never did an RMA with Google, I purchased the 6P phone in US. I heard that in the past you could do multiple warranty replacements for the first year and Google will send you a new unit. Then I read recently that now Google only honors only 1 RMA, then they refer you to Huawei. Is this true?
Edit: I called Google and they said that if the newly received device still has defects, they will continue to replace it until I get a proper unit on hand. They also said I can keep the cables and power charger when I ship back the defective unit. I used this link to call:
