Remove buttons - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Is there a rom or something that remove the buttons on the bottom of the screen, but not always? I want to remove these buttons for some apps and go back with gestures of the GMD Gesture control or something else.
Is this possible with the PA rom?
Thanks!

Check out the full!screen app from the playstore. It has recently been updated to work with android 4.3. Full!screen has become an essential part of my customized Android UI experience.
You need to be rooted. There is a free version you can check out.

If you're into custom ROMs, many also allow you to use expanded desktops, which more or less let you hide whatever you want (as well as the option to flat out hide the navbar).

But it isn't possible to set it with some apps? Like XBMC, the buttons on the bottom still there when I play a movie

There is no way to do it per app that I am aware of, but in roms like PA if you hold the power button you can select full screen, and then a pie will show up if you touch the bottom edge of the screen. Works quite well. Personally I have installed LMT launcher for a more complex pie and disabled just the bottom nav buttons(keeping the notification bar at the top).

Hide softkeys and replace with swipe actions

So I thought about hiding the softkeys on my phone and replace them with sliding/swipe actions. So if you swipe from the button of your screen into it, there is the ring you see in lockscreen or when swiping from the softkeys up. From there you are able to select the default keys. Right top->multitasking, left top->back, middle top->home... If we use those swipe options, we have some more space to use on our phone and the 4.7 screen can fully be uses

Use search next time
Try using paranoid android or any rom with PIE feature. So you dont need navbar anymore.

Looking for rom

I'm looking for a rom that has a status bar at the top while pie control is active. Something like what's in the photo.
I've tried PA maybe I couldn't find the option.

Carbon, aokp, liquid.
But I'm fairly sure PA has it too.
You have to go to "Hybrid properties" swipe your finger to the right and click on interface. You will see two options, choosing the Nav. Bar option drag the blue bar all the way down to zero hit apply and enable pie.

CM 10.1 can do that.

I use CM 10.1, nova launcher, and I can have that.
Active extended desktop with CM 10.1 options (then active it with a long press on power button). Then, in Nova, make an action for double tap (or any gesture you like) that hide or show status bar.
And it rocks. You can have only navbar, only statusbar, or both, your call, very quickly.
(sorry for my bad English, feel free to help me ^^ )

[TIP] Onscreen Navigation [/TIP][Root required]

So if you're using your Ouya with a mouse and keyboard the way I do, you have to rely a lot on keyboard shortcuts. But what if you can have onscreen navigation buttons to?
With an app called "full!screen" you can have a home and back button on the corners of your screen. Turn down the opacity to make the buttons transparent and you're left with what are essentially 'hotcorners.'
Home/Back are default. But you can customize which buttons you want displayed. You can also assign long-click and swipe action to the target area --though not sure how well swipe action would work for us.
This app also has it's own version of PIE control, if you like that interface. Works great.
Bonus: Works with Ouya launcher. (just checked it since my default is Nova Launcher)
Bonus 2: I had a previous tip to get notifications with a different app. You can set one of your actions in this app to show notifications. I just installed it. So not sure how well this feature will work.. and it's not exactly automatic notifications. It just allows you to pull up the notifications bar to view existing notificationss.
full!screen is free from the PlayStore.
cheers.

[Q] disable swipe up from bottom activating quick memo

Rooted g2. Here, 4.4.2
Xposed module g2
Navigation bar disabled
LMT is on
Now the question, when i choose pie control area to bottom, i cant activate it easily cz the drag up or swipe up from down screen activate the quick memo.
I want to use LMT from the bottom not right or left. I 'll need to set the thickness area to a very high value to make it works. Is there a way to disable this "drag up " thing?
Use this module!

You can use it with Samsung oneui. Not supporting 3 part launchers. I don't know why how but it is.

Somehow I found a work around for Nova. I selected the default one ui launcher and then enabled the gestures. Went back and changed the default launcher to Nova and the gesture navigation stuck. Now I gotta get used to the nav bar being gone and using gestures. ?

You are probably using Samsung gestures (from the bottom of the screen), they work. Googles gestures do not work nova.
Hi guys, just a question : with this new gestures I noticed I'm not able to use completely One Hand +, so I need to lock screen with physic Button. Do you have advices? Thanks
