If you guys havent heard you can link your GSII or Tab 10.1 to your D7000 or D8000 tv but I havent been able to find the app to do so. I believe its called Samsung Wireless Link. This allows you to mirror your TV on to your tablet. Anyone got this working or have more information about it?

I orginally bought the 55" D7000 on Amazon and it was defective. I returned it and bought the 46" D8000. I talked to a TV tech about the models and he claims the D8000 has significantly better black levels and was raving about the micro dimming plus blah blah... he also went on to say that on TV's smaller then 55" you wont notice much of a difference between the 7 and the 8 series. Since I was saving a bunch of money on the smaller size TV I went for the D8000. One thing I noticed is the D8000 does come with glasses which I didnt really need since I got the 3D Starter Kit bundle and Bluray Player for free through the Amazon promotion. I like the glasses that came with the D8000 better though and while I initially liked the bezel on the 7000 better I now really like the 8000 bezel. It's a very sweet TV I have it plugged into my router and I can stream 1080p mkv and mkv3d files no problem with no additional software/hardware needed. You just need some DLNA server software and your good to go. I can also stream 3D content from my Evo 3D to the TV via DLNA over wifi. Pretty cool. I'm hoping this new update for the Tab 10.1 with TouchWiz adds this mirroring capability that they talk about here: http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/samsung-d8000-d7000-streaming-galaxy-201102221034.htm

They pulled the touch remote for the USA release. From what I hear its crap anyways although you can buy it separately if youd like. I LOVE the remote that it did come with however (both the 7 and the 8 came with the same remote)... I think you are on the other side of the pond though so it may come with the UE models, mines a UN. I read something about only the D8000 coming with the touch remote and only on the UE models. Could be BS though. The remote mine came with is a qwerty keyboard on one side, remote control on the other side. It's backlight which is great, I've never had a backlight remote before haha. I'm easily impressed I guess...
Hey guys, is there any way to mirror my exact image onto my tv and not just send pics and videos to the tv via dnla?

I've got an UE55ES7000. How to mirror the display content to the TV without the AllShare Cast Dongle?
Screen mirroring only works with TV's with the very latest version of wifi direct / miracast - have a look at this thread, it is discussed in detail. The only working method available to you at present is the allshare cast dongle.

I have the 7000 series Samsung, it has the allshare app on it, do I still need the dongle for mirror? Also is there an app the tablet has to use to mirror?
Wow. Just read that thread. Samsung dropped the ball...

Yeah big style, lots of promises, total failure.
complete failure. I cannot even find any documentation on my TV that says yes or no that is has WIDI
I have the 6800. You can send video and photos to allshare play. You can now even control the youtube app for the tv with the updated youtube app for android. But true mirroring is not possible untill i got the dongle.
To be honest mirroring isnt really that usefull, only really if you want to game.

I have the UA55D7000, a 2011 Samsung TV. It was on the list they 1st supplied as compatible but after almost pulling out and losing most of my hair trying to get it working, I went and got the dongle.
Works fine now but considering the adverts were showing that you didn't need the dongle and were making fun of the guy in the business meeting who didn't bring his, this was a major letdown. Especially since it cost another $90 on top...
I do find it useful though...
I have the Allshare cast dongle. It does work really well. I use it to mirror my GT-N8010 screen to a data projector. My data projector is quite old and does not have HDMI in so I had to buy a HDMI to VGA digital to analogue converter too. However it now means I can present off my Note and I am not constrained by cables.
no S4 screen mirroring

Goodmorning,
i own a beautiful Galaxy Nexus and i'm very happy with it.
Now i want to buy another device for my business and dedicate the nexus for my private things.
I was wondering if samsung galaxy S4 is better than Galaxy note II for my intentions: use bluetooth keyboard and mouse. MHL adapter to connect the device to a TV Screen.
My Nexus lets me make all this stuff but it's a little bit slow and the output is only 720p
what do you think about?

For bussiness get the note 2
Its more mature, has a longer battery life, bigger screen for spreadsheets and document reading.
The stylus is very useful on doing fine work (highlighting signatures and annotation of documents etc)
And its cheaper...

If you're plugging into a large monitor then the GS4 should be perfect as it will show in HD1080P in the monitor, it also has better CPU/GPU and newer Android version than the Note2.

i got a Samsung smart TV 32".
I knew that Galaxy Note II and GS4 had the same video output (1080P). Am I wrong?

From the standpoint of an executive ... there is nothing software wise that the S4 can do that the Note 2 cannot do... but there is more that the Note 2 can do that the S4 cannot FROM THE USABLE AS AN OFFICE perspective.
Software is also more mature on the Note 2
S4 is still new and while it may have the new GPU/CPU for a business person... unless your into multimedia and games development... its not that big of a deal.
Newer is not always better from a commercial and executive standpoint.
Hello
I've been wanting to do some screen mirroring for quite some time and I've been reading a lot, but it's kind of confusing some say it will work others that it won't.
I have a 9505 rooted running CM11 and I need a dongle for my "old" Sony TV, but which one is the best? I want to watch movies and occasionally play some games if possible.
Chromecast doesn't have all the functionality or so I've concluded due to the case that it can't be rooted.
Miracast I can't figure out if it will work on a custom status on my rooted device - can someone help me here?
Are there any "good ones" some of you could recommend?
The main functionality is like playing videos and pictures.. Music could be nice too!
Hope some of you have some experiences you could share
Seems that they finally got screen casting to completely work in the recent CM updates. Including a photo I took of my TV casting my screen. Sadly this is only able to just show that the camera is on making the TV endlessly repeat but it shows that it is working. I was able to play games and watch videos and the sound even went to the TV as well. If I hook up my wireless mouse with my otg cable and connect my Bluetooth keyboard I'll be set with the biggest screen I've ever seen android on.

Its only going to get better too. There's already so many more apps that work with it than there were a few months ago when I bought it. Screen mirroring was something people only talked about and wished could happen back then. You needed to have a miracast to screen mirror but even then it doesn't work like it doesn't on the Chromecast, im only noticing a latency of a fraction of a second. Enough to make playing games through your TV a little tricky but still doable.
very suprised dualshock 4 controllers work natively with otg cable... very nice combined with mirroring

This has worked wonders for me in my new car.
Now, I no longer need the MHL adapter and huge bulky HDMI cable to hook up to my stock in dash car radio screen.
Just the HDMI to RCA converter and the Chromecast. Works great!!!!!!! and takes up less space.

If I recall right, DS4 compatibility was within the Linux kernel, and was improved somewhat recently. But in any case, it is pretty nice that it works
I've been screen mirroring for a couple months now with a rooted Chromecast.

That's great - if you have a Chromecast that can be rooted
