D2G ROM on Milestone 2 - Possible? - Milestone 2 General

I found this rom: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/8243-romaosp-gb-blackspark-alpha/
its says it for Motorola Droid 2 Global.
I have Milestone 2, from UK, so i want to ask is it possible to install it on my phone, because i think its same phone.
Is Milestone 2 and Droid 2 Global same phones, because i know that Droid 2 using CMDA, and Global 2 is GSM.
Thanks all for responses.

[q] update milesone 2.2.1 to gingerbread/honeycomb

I have got an official update of 2.2.1 in my Milestone 2.1(Italian Version) recently.I understand that no further official update will be coming from Motorola. But I want update my phone to Gingerbread or, if possible, to Honeycomb.I am not that much technical expert to carry out the cumbersome procedures of rooting ,flashing etc.So is there a simple way to achieve my goal/Can anybody suggest and help me?Further, what is 2.4.24 update? Is it superior to Gingerbread? How can I get it?Please advise.
Thanking you,

2.4.24 is motorola build for Android 2.2.2 you can download it on motorola update or here --> http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2 but you should look for a tutorial here in the forum.
No Gingerbread update for M2 available now, some chinese guy said it will update in Q3 2011... Honeycomb is for tablets.=P
Argen2Stone is our only ROM.
Just browse a little bit through the forum to get root and stuff.
Edit: Is your phone Milestone 2 or 1??? You said Milestone 2.1, M2 comes with froyo (2.2) not eclair (2.1)
Sent from my Milestone 2
are you using Milestone 1 or Milestone 2?
the 2.2.2 update is for Milestone 2 which is not compatible with Milestone 1

[Q] is Milestone 2 locked down more than Droid 2?

I thought this was the case back during Milestone 1 days but I thought Droid 2 and Milestone 2 were pretty much same in terms of boot-loader.
Now Droid 2 has official cyanogen support and milestone dev seems to be pretty much stagnated.
Just wondering why that would be?
droid 2 has official cm support? I dont think so. Im afraid cm team only support devices with unlockable bootloaders?
milo 2 is as locked as defy and maybe as droid2(some people reported droid2 roms working on milo 2? without radio support, of course). If we dont have cm7, it's just because the lack of developers working on milo 2.
As more developers start working with milo 2, cm7 will come.

Yes droid 2 has official CM support in the works (just like defy).
you can see it in this patch:
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#patch,sidebyside,5921,7,products/AndroidProducts.mk
Droid2 and Motorola Jordan (Defy)
Thanks
So, droid 1 isnĀ“t officially supported?
The original Droid has been supported by Cyanogenmod for a while. There is a list of offical devices on their front page (no Droid2, so it does need updating).

[Q] Droid Pro Forum = Droid Pro Plus Forum ???

Hi guys,
I just bough a European Droid Pro Plus and wondered why there isnt a forum for the phone. Eventually it runs a newer Software than the Droid Pro and has other hardware too.
Ive been seeking for a root method for the Pro Plus and finally found this forum but Im not that sure if its about the Droid Pro only or the Pro Plus too.
I also searched the forum for a root method but it seemed that there isnt one for the Pro Plus, or am I wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Root Motorola Pro+
Hi threepointfive/Leo,
I don't know if you already found a solution, anyway to root my Motorola Pro+ I used SuperOneClick 2.3.3
http://shortfuse.org/?page_id=2
I've root it with 2.3.5 Version and then I've root it again after 2.3.6 OTA update.
At the moment there is only the Motorola Pro forum, inside it there is this thread where people try to keep toghether all the information about Pro+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375734
Finally, you can go to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375734 and vote in order to have, in the future, a separate forum for your smartphone.

Best way to upgrade 7.0 to 8.1

What's the best, easiest way to upgrade manually from Android 7.0 to Oreo 8.1? I'm not getting OTG with 7.0, so I need to try something else without having to buy a new phone. I just spent money to have the charging port fixed, don't want to switch phones again, but need this feature. Thanks!

Which Kinzie phone do you have, Moto X Force or Droid Turbo 2?
You can root the Moto X force and there are some custom roms but not Oreo 8.1, I don't think. You cannot root Droid Turbo 2 at all.
Neither phone got past Nougat for stock firmware.

Oh Dang!! I have the Droid Turbo 2. So when I'm on YouTube and they're showing those videos that say "How to upgrade ANY Android phone to Oreo 8.1" they're not talking about DT2? What would happen if I tried it? Has anyone done it? Just curious. I'm thinking about getting a Moto G5 Plus if I can't upgrade. This one DEFINITELY has 8.1, correct?
Thanks for your replies!

No, if the phone can't be rooted (2015 "Kinzie" Droid Turbo 2) you can only use stock firmware.
If the phone can be rooted (2015 "Kinzie" Moto X Force), you're still dependent on what devs can and will do. The devs with the kernel skills needed to adapt last Kinzie Nougat stock kernel to run on Oreo 8.1 - - which then allows ROMs to be ported - - may wish to spend time on other devices.
The 2014 "Quark" (Droid Turbo/Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo) all have bootloader unlock and root, and they have a dev with those skills. So they have 8.1 ROMs, whikethr 2015 Kinzie phones do not.

All the QUARK ROMS are compatible with all Quarks.
Schooled!

Thanks for that education! I've been schooled, lol! OK, I guess I'm going for the Moto G5 Plus. I'm not happy with Nougat at all!
