Well... there is always RSDLite... Check General section - sticky threads for details
You might be using old boot menu, try to flash new boot menu and recovery, at least 5.0.3.1+.
You can go back to your original stock using RSD Lite, then root and install 2nd init. After it installs the recovery, download the latest recovery (you can search the dev threads for this).

[Q] Error when flashing rom (status 7)

Hi, My phone is currently in a bootloop, I had 4.4.2 installed previously, and I'm trying to flash back to stock by adb pushing the rom to my phone and flashing via cwm 6.0.4.x. When I flash the rom it doesn't work and gives me the error: "E: error in /data/media/0/rom.zip (status 7).
How can I fix this? I've tried looking for the assert line for the device thingy in the meta-inf/com/google/android/updater-script, but it doesn't have those lines.
Also, I cannot connect to the computer via download mode. So kdz flashing is a no-go
which G2 version are u? i'd recommend u update your recovery to either twrp 2.7.0.0 or Philz ..
i'm having no problem whatsoever flashing roms with twrp :good:

E:signature verification failed

Hello
I rooted my TAB 2 P5100 with "CF-Auto-Root-espresso10rf-espresso10rfxx-gtp5100.tar.md5" through Odin 3.0.7.
It all finished OK and As i Check through Root Checked it says that my device is Rooted and it still has the latest original Android version 4.2.2
As I go to install any possible ROM I can find through SDCARD I recieve the error displayed in the title.
E:signature verification failed
I read a bit around and I wast to add that I do not have the option to toggle off verification mode.
Any help PLS
Thank you

NVM, it was easier than what i thought.
Download TWRP.zip and place it on the SD card
install TWRP fropm Google APP
Open it and tell it to install the TWRP.zip into recovery.
shut down and start to recovery - which starts to TWRP
after that is very easy.
