Greetings all
Is there a "rom cleaner" script to trim the S4 TW roms of some of the bloat? It gets kind of tedious to do it manually.
Why not flash one of the 3 or 4 ROMs that have already been De bloated by about 500mb?

Or use titanium backup and create your own bloat profile then it is a one click process to remove what you don't want. One mans bloat is another mans daily app.

Is there anyways to get Samsung apps on a custom ROM? I find that while the 4.4.2 Roms generally work great, that lack of SApps and especially the one hand functionality, really reduce how great these Roms can be.
Or is the best bet just to root Samsung's Roms?
Thanks in advance.
Never heard of the leaked 4.4.2 kitkat Samsung rom? ???

I think he is referring to AOSP 4.4.2 ROMS.
For the OP, I don't think it is possible, and believe me, I am in the same position as you are, whether use the boring Samsung ROM with all those features or to use nice looking 4.4.2 ROMs with no Samsung features
Why wouldn't it be possible? Aren't the Samsung apps just apks that can be extracted? Or is it all based only on touch wiz?

Its based on the touchwiz framework. Yeah, it's apks and you might be able to install them but they might either not start up, work properly or not be able to install.

Apks require TWiz framework to work which is impossible to get in AOSP ROMs. AFAIK, MIUI is the only custom ROM which supports SApps.
Hello all, long time lurker here with a couple if questions. Not new to rooting: I've rooted an HTC Inspire, HTC One X, and finally this bad boy. This is definitely a different experience and there seems to be a lot of info that developers assume you know but even after reading everything recommended I still feel very confused. I am on the MDL baseband, rooted and flashed with the 4.3 GPE version which I think was pulled from a nexus variant. Here are my questions:
1) Are there any stock, rooted, Touch Wiz ROMs with the AT and T bloat removed?
2) What does Loki do, and if not explicitly stated that it's used in a ROM, do I install it before flashing the ROM or after?

There's plenty, and you can flash ROMs from any S4 variant though you might need to flash an at&t kernel. Loki is our method to bypass the locked bootloader, and if you flash a ROM without it then it won't boot.

Thanks for the reply! I can't seem to find any ROMs in the Android Development forum that are described as such.

1.) Check out Shostock. It's built from stock source and works very well. It is pretty close to what you are looking for.

I like iB's GoldenEye rom. Has zip to delete bloat. You can open zip and delete lines you don't want deleted. IE I delete S-Memo from script so it doesn't delete it from rom. Perfect rom for me, good battery life also. Very smooth.
I switched from IOS to android and got the s5 (att) I'm rooted now ... thanks geohot. What do I do now. Any steps out there I want a clean rom with no bloatware or the rom that on the one+ one phone (cm11 i think) any how can some one help...i am sure there are others that need this info as well.
There are tutorials at the top of developer threads with guides. Just check the stickies.

u can use titanium backup to freeze or uninstall all the bloatware and use Wanam exposed to customize the way u want or install custom recovery and flash custom rom u want.

If your rooted simply freeze unused unwanted bloat apps. Idk if there is for that model nor if there's a Rom. Good luck to you though hope it works out [emoji106]

Thank you, which app should I use to root G-950FD and which app is best to freeze unwanted apps?
I use titanium backup on mine this way of you find the phone crashing or any other issues simply unfreeze the app causing it
