Does anyone know what this letter C like deal is between my wifi symbol and my call signal ? I was going to ask dottat big D but it seems we have lost him to the forum. He will be missed he was always a good contributing member and a good friend to many of us including myself. He will not easily be replaced and he will be missed. Best of luck to you D a lot of us appreciated everything you did for us.
Now on what I have going on, mine is an unlocked htc 10 s-off unlocked, verizon picks it up as a verizon htc 10 for reasons we are not supposed to discuss on here, so what was done is flashed the verizon htc 10 radio and such as Dottat has on his thread, but what I think is going on is mine is picking the verizon signal up as roaming which it is not, so my problem is in the phone itself and not in my verizon service. The reason why I have it set up to be picked up as a verizon 10 is because I run it on total wireless prepaid which is $35 a month unl talk & text with 5 gigs of verizon data throttled to 5 mbps down and two up. If it was on a post paid account then I could activate the sim in another phone and put in this unlocked 10 and it would work fine registered as an unlocked 10, but for total wireless if you activate the sim in another phone and put it in the unlocked 10 you will only get 3g data I think its this way for all verizon mvno the only exception would be verizon prepaid.
So here is what I have tried I"am running viper10 2.2.0 the first time in viper set up while flashing I selected the phone as unlocked 10 which is where I"am back to because I tried flashing again and selecting the phone as verizon 10 and it was working great problem fixed until I find out camera wont work it turns on then right back off so I tried uninstalling the htc 10 camera app then clear cashe and reboot and re install it from the play store and same deal open the camera app and it closes immediately, then flashed viper again going back to selecting phone as unlocked 10 during rom flash, and camera works great again. I really do not want to convert to a verizon 10 as I like my updates from htc directly and not from douche bag verizon lol. Anyone know this issue ? I do not need to convert to verizon 10 as prepaid does not use Volte so converting is worthless and of no benefit. I dont know if the issue is firmware related but wouldnt you think the unlocked 10 and verizon 10 would use the same software for the camera ? It makes no sense. I guess for the time being I wont have a camera and if I cant find a camera fix I will wait it out for the new nexus 5.5 inch screen phone expected to be due out in a month or two. Anyone have any clue on a camera fix ? Because as unlocked 10 flashed viper10 it works great except the camera wont work at all ?
Here is a screenshot showing the C
I forgot to mention not only is my htc 10 trying to roam, it does not want to send texts they fail sending and that is even trying using verizon messages. And I tried flashing the verizon radio again each time after flashing viper10 and switching from unlocked 10 to verizon 10, and then back to unlocked 10 again to confirm camera was working right again which it was now I will have to flash viper10 again and once again set it up in flash as a verizon 10, have no choice, either my total wireless verizon mvno service works and camera does not or camera working and no service yeah thats a no brainer lol. So there is where I"am and no Dotat to save me this time lol
you cant use the unlocked option on viper if your going to use it on Verizon. the Verizon option in aroma flashes the necessary files to make it work properly on their network, like system apps, libs, apn info, framework files, etc.....
the camera breaks due to mismatched firmware on your phone. you need Verizon radio and firmware for it to work properly. flash the latest Verizon RUU and radio if needed and then reflash viper with the Verizon options. if your using it for Verizon the unlocked firmware and options no longer apply to you and are now on verizons time when it comes to updates.

Yeah I will pass on that I guess I can do without camera as I do not want to convert to a verizon version. I like my updates quick and clean from Htc and not from slow verizon who takes months so they can try to figure out extra bloat to add or any other ways they can try to lock your phone down more.
With viper10 2.2.0 set up as a verizon 10 then flashing the verizon radio everything works perfect except no camera so no camera is better to me than putting any nasty verizon software on my phone I dont even want their firmware nothing verizon that I absolutely do not have to have like my unlocked motorola nexus 6 is I get nothing from verizon but the call signal and their LTE data just as it should be.
I just flashed the 1.19.605..9_s_on RUU that Dottat provided for Verizon onto my Sprint HTC 10. Everything works great, except for one thing: the camera launches a black, flashing screen in any camera app. I'm guessing this is due to some mismatch of firmware on the device?

Can anyone shed some light on this? I read on this thread here that people are experiencing this, but it isn't clear why, and what possible solutions might be...
I have been trying to get wifi calling with AT&T is working on my International S7 edge. I have made headway.
1. First of all I told AT&T I had their branded S7 edge and gave them an IMEI that will show up that phone. So I can activate my phone.
2. I have narrowed down the required apks to the following, but some are obviously for the Wifi Calling, and other's I am not sure. If people know what some of these apks do, please let me know.
3. I have used the Note 7 Port and flashed TTKG CSC selection and chosen the ATT CSC, we are still working on getting it working in the S7 and Edge CSC.
4. The following APK's I feel are related to Wifi Calling are.... If you can help me eliminate some that aren't. They are deodexed, and I have uploaded them, you will need to change the permissions to match the ones in the system folder.

5. I am unsure if I need to make Buildprop changes or I am missing other system files. I was able to activate wifi calling and turn it on, but it doesn't work.

Did you ever get this resolved? So far I can not for the life of me, get WiFi Calling working on my S7 Edge exynos. Basically throws an error stating the activation failed, and never brings up the screen to enter in my emergency contact address like AT&T is supossed to re-direct you to.
The activation fails because AT&T doesn't have an AT&T wifi capable phone on your account which then allows you to activate the wifi. I have two imei's that are linked to AT&T s6 and s7. I can give you the imei. Go to att tech support give them the imei and tell them to update your account to be able to get visual voice mail and wifi calling. After you do this, they will alow you to activate it. However I gave up after a while. If you flash the custom csc, you must do it before your phone boots up after a factory reset and flash a custom rom. I am waiting as I am on Nougat now, so until ATT updates it's apps again.

Thanks, although I'm a bit confused on the steps your outlining here. I assume you're stating that I'll need to somehow modify a ROM (in this case SAC's N7 ROM for S7 Edge Exynos), and inject an IMEI? I'm not entirely sure how to do that to change the IMEI (this would be my first time attempting to do that). Then I would reflash that image, and then re flash the CSC update to AT&T? Maybe I'm not understanding, but my iPhone 6 is on my account and fully capable of wifi calling. In fact we have 2 iPhone 6s on the account. What exactly did you give up on?
Hate to sound like a newb here (although in a way... I am), but can you step me through the process so I can follow your line of thought? Appreciate the help!
So first of all an Android WiFi Calling and IPhone Android WiFi calling are different you will need to tell at&t you have an AT&T branded Android phone that has WiFi calling. This will lead at&t to add the ability to add wifi calling on your account.
Have you rooted your phone and installed a custom rom? If so then you would flash ttkg84's csc package and choose att. Which will flash most if not all the files. I got all the way to confirm my address and enable wifi calling, but it never worked.
Do not insert another phones imei into your phone, you will brick it and will have a expensive paper weight.
I have given up for now and am waiting for a full release of Nougat.
PM my I can give you am imei to give AT&T to enable video calling, visual voice mail and give the ability to activate WiFi Calling, but it's not likely to work. Some things are still missing.
You may never get wifi calling working because at&t uses a slightly different method then everyone else. I think they will standardize with Nougat.

That's what I thought.... So what about the King of Nougat ROM that's lingering out there currently? I realize Nougat is still beta, but have you tried the beta?
I haven't tried King of Nougat. I am currently using Nougat? Are you on telegram?

So... Interestingly enough. I just got WiFi Calling to work this morning...
Basically, I did the following steps:
1. No SIM Inserted into Galaxy S7 Exynos - SD Card only
2. Reboot to Recovery
3. Wipe
4. Download and Install SAC23's Full n7 ROM located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-n7-rom-port-romcontrol-t3430358 - I did the V8 Debloated version
5. When prompted - Wipe Dalik
6. Insert SIM Card from AT&T iPhone (ensured WiFi Calling was turned OFF on the iPhone prior to removing from iPhone)
7. Reboot first time into N7 ROM
8. Go through the setup and connect to a WiFi location that you know WiFi calling works at.
9. Download a browser (Chrome or whatever) at a minimum
10. Eat a Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato Sandwich :good:
11. Reboot to Recovery
12. Flash CSC for the N7 located here --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-v1-0-t3450911 - Grab the CSC snapdragon the Exynos zip
13. Reboot
14. Status bar will indicate VoLTE enabled up at top eventually.
15. Try going to the pull down from the top, and clicking WiFi Calling option a couple times.... no dice.
16. Try going to the phone app --> Click Settings --> Note WiFi Calling is off --> Try clicking it on a few times.... you'll get an adroid app stopped working.
17. After sitting on this sceen for a few minutes, note the VoLTE dissapears, and the icons on the phone app screen (The Call Start Button and the Call End button) switch to WiFi magically.... Try making a call with 0 zero cell reception, and indeed, the call is being made through WiFI on AT&T's network.
Now.... I have absolutely zero idea what's going on with the VoLTE icon disappearing.... and the WiFI calling suddenly working. If you reboot the phone, the same thing occurs. It starts in VoLTE.... and then eventually disappears, and eventually after a couple of minutes being connected to a WIFI connection, switches auto-magically to WifFi calling.
I'll take some screenshots.

Followed the method above using Superman 1.16 and CSC selector 1.86.
Haven't been able to test wifi calling since I haven't found an area with wifi and no cell reception, but so far everything looks like it's working.
Important to note that the AT&T account probably does need to be provisioned for a G935A rather than G935F, which is done by reporting a G935A IMEI to AT&T (and not changing it on the device itself) as mentioned previously.

Hmmm, gotcha.... but if you report a G935A they typically want you to power off and power on the phone to check the provisioning while on the phone with them. And what happens if someone calls in and then tries to re-provision the same IMEI on another account? What happens to my SIM in my G935FD? Thanks!

Far as I can tell they don't check IMEIs against different accounts.
I can't say for sure, but I haven't had an issue as my phone has a different IMEI (or IMEIs--G935FD) than the one listed on my account (which reads as a G935A).
In short, asking AT&T to change the IMEI on the account hasn't affected or changed the IMEIs on my phone, or caused any problems.
As far as provisioning, I told them I was on the phone, so they called me back a few minutes later and didn't report any issues or discrepancies to me.
It'd be just as easy to tell the rep the phone isn't available though, so just ask them to change the IMEI and you can call them back later if there are issues if that's a concern.
Looks like great news. I was happy I was able to activate my 935F via AT&T (I gave them the actual IMEI and they activated it). I'm on Superman ROM and flashed ATT CSC. I get visual voicemail and the WiFi calling button, but it doesn't actually work. I'll see if I can get a valid 935A IMEI and ask them to activate again. Hopefully that will do the trick. I get a horrible signal at home, and the 4G/LTE icon is constantly flickering on and off... AT&T Video call option shows up in settings, but won't turn on... no wifi calling setting in the settings menu, just the quick settings button.
Any guidance appreciated!

Back before I obtained a samsung galaxy core prime, I had another samsung phone which didn't have a sim card, but at the same time still had a hotspot. Of course the hotspot had no internet, but I didn't care about that one bit. What I want is the same thing as I had on this phone, without having my hotspot activated through third-party apps, but through the activation switch in settings.
I have root and I have a custom rom, yet I still can not figure out a way to activate it as it keeps on saying the same thing; " Please install sim card in order to share your phone's data connection with other devices using Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot or USB tethering for Internet access. "
I don't have a sim, and I don't plan on getting one.
Wanted Result:
Stock Hotspot able to be activated
No Sim required to do so
No third party apps to permanently be used to activate my hotspot, just to make it start working
Key Info:
Rooted
Custom Rom
SM-G360T1 (I didn't want to say it until you would read the full post, as most people don't care about this model enough, any method is helpful, even one that works for SM-G360H)
you do know that enabling the hotspot doesn't have anything to do with having a sim?
Just go into settings and enable it bruv
?
That's not true. You DO need a Sim card to allow access to that device's Data connection to broadcast. Read and understand the question beforehand.... BTW, FoxFi ? was the application he needs to get around this issue
I have only been able to get a stock image running on my G5 Plus. I can then load Magisk and get by but would really like to run PureNexus or RR. Every single custom ROM I have tried complains that the SIM card is missing on initial install which you can simply ignore and get the phone to basically work but you can never update your PRL or account settings over the network as the app just crashes the instant it's selected. And please don't tell me I need to insert a SIM card, of course there is a SIM card inserted it just can't see it.
Is there any US based developer out there with a G5+ on CDMA.
Maybe I am just missing something obvious but I don't see what it could be. My SIM is activated and works perfectly with the stock deodexed ROM.
Yes works fine on Verizon . My problem is the about phone has my device a xt1687 but I think it needs to be Moto g 5 plus to allow me to watch my movies I buy through Google
I'm with Verizon and like you I had a huge hassle getting LTE to work on any custom ROM except Pure Nexus. I think I tried at least 10 different custom ROMs and they all had the same issue upon the initial boot complaining about the SIM card, I simply skipped it of course. All the ROMs wanted to then just give me a constant 3G signal and no LTE. I tried a few things but ultimately all the ROMs started getting LTE and then I figured out that maybe I found the fix by luck. I'd logged onto Verizon and looked at some settings and noticed my phone showed up as a default device name. I simply changed that to something else and perhaps that fixed the issue while I was flashing all these ROMs.
Now my problem is different....it's backwards. LTE works great until i get in a rural area and then the phone wont change down to 3G or 1x. No signal at all for phone or text until get back into an LTE area. I think these issues have to be related to the APN settings the custom ROMs (except Pure Nexus) are using. I would like to copy all the APN related files from the stock ROM which works perfectly over to a custom ROM but I'm unsure of which files to copy. Try changing your device name on Verizon to see what happens after a few minutes. Worth a shot...
There is a Wi-Fi calling check box, but nothing seems to happen if I check it, and it doesn't seem like the essential APKs are there to make it work. Does anyone know if there is a way to make it work?
Also, is there a surefire way to test if it is working -- ex. should true WiFi calling work in airplane mode with WiFi turned on?
If it's unsupported on the unlocked device, is it known if it's possible to flash the Sprint rom to enable the feature?
It works perfectly well on my unlocked device in the UK. It does depend on your carrier, though, as to the support they provide and their requirements.
I have an unlocked PH1 on Sprint right now. Wifi calling works perfectly. If you are using a custom ROM, you will typically need to modify build.prop to add in support, but it does work. You may need to flash back to complete stock to go through the Sprint setup. This is done to update PRL and other odd files Sprint uses. Can't update those on a custom ROM. You can confirm if it is working or not by looking for the highlighted icon.

When I first put my Essential on Sprint, I could not activate Wifi calling, Went in to "About Phone", "OMADM updates" and updated PRL and Profile, that was no help.
I called support twice, and couldn't get it to work. It wouldn't let me turn on wifi calling.
I went back to it 2 weeks later, and it is now working perfectly. I work in pretty much a basement with no Sprint signal, but get Wifi calls just fine now.

That's very helpful. So you didn't complete any sort of Sprint related setup with the Sprint logo on it, right?
