Anyone had the following issue - stock/non rooted Nexus 4.2.2
Watch YouTube videos on mobile, check on desktop and what I watched are marked as watched
OTA Update to 4.3
Watch YouTube videos on mobile, check on desktop and nothing is marked as watched
Small annoying issue rather than missing functionality, but I just wanted to question if anyone had seen the same issue?
It could be that it is related to my Nexus 4 not showing up as a device in the Play store.

When i open HTC YouTube app it doesn't load the thumbnails of the videos, only the gray tv icons! Does anyone else have same issue?
How can i fix this?
Thanks!
yes i have the same problem! i've searched for some answers and no luck. the google youtube works fine but it's not the same quality.
Me too! The same problem with HTC's Youtube client.
I noticed that under the history tab, some old videos i had viewed about a week ago had their thumbnails displayed whereas the more recent videos had none (an active internet connection is required to load these 'history thumbnails').
Also, from a "fresh" list of videos,if you click on the description button (!), a thumbnail sometimes loads on the description screen.
This leads me to conclude it's not the software, but somehow Youtube has stopped sending/changed the preview pictures that accompany the video description.
Is this just a temporary glitch, or does Google want us all to switch to its own viewer?
guys
go for the offical youtube app from google
its work for me and its faster than the htc youtube
demo video

download last version

yeah o dont reallu like the google youtube version its faster but less quality. anyway i was having the same problem now is working fine. maybe it was a problem on the youtube server or maybe upgrading my sprint rom to the latest htc version fixed it.
I just update to 3.1 to my WIFI XOOM using Clockwork Recovery method .
this first thing in notice is that it was listed as a Verizon
Motorola Xoom in the web market, while the original listing (
Motorola Xoom) still there.
Any way, after playing my 2nd video in YouTube app, strange bug happened , any video i want to play after that , YT would play the same 2nd video and not the video i selected! i tried to select different videos by searching or selecting one from the main dashboard and it will not play the video i selected but will always play the same 2nd video although the info, comment and related video is for the one i selected and not the one playing!
I forced close YouTube from the Mange Applications setting, clear all data and cache and rebooted my Xoom, still didn't works and the same bug happened! I really started to hate this video after playing it or the millionth time
am i alone in this , any one else got that same bug!
Update 1: It's seem like HD issue, whem play video in SD it's play the desired video!
I was trying to watch a youtube video. In the youtube app, it just shows "buffering... " and does not play. Using the browser, only the circular loading screen showed. Note that everything else loads like the comments, views etc.
However, i can view embedded youtube videos. Now im confused. I think it has to do with the youtube mobile player since the regular player for pc was able to play the embedded video.
Do you know any fix? Thanks.
I was disappointed when I drew a circle around a youtube video and it only showed up as a link and a pic of the vid when a review showed it is playable in scrapbook itself... I found out you have to uninstall youtube (it will still remain on your phone, just saying it needs to be updated). After uninstalling (updates) I tried scrapbooking a vid and it works great. . ANOTHER THING I NOTICED IS THAT BEFORE UNINSTALING UPDATES VIDEOS WOULD RUN A BIT CHOPPY ON YOUTUBE APP BUT NOW THEY RUN VERY SMOOTH AND CLEAR.. (in other words, the update for youtube sucks).
No .. it was Scrapbook that is not compatible with the new Youtube version. Samsung has patched Scrapbook in the latest OTA update and fixed the issue. Now you can use scrapbook to save youtube videos even with the new Youtube.

So has there already been 2 over the air updates for this phone? Im on M15 deodexed rom and it didnt work until I uninstalled the tube updates... anyways I do notice better video quality without the youtube updates..
I know the new one for me which is N9005XXUBMJ1 fixes it.
Since updating to 4.4, I'm having an odd problem. When visiting sites in Chrome that have embedded YouTube videos (forums, blogs, etc), I can play the video but no sound comes through. I can open the YT app and play the video normally. I downloaded Dolphin Browser and videos play fine.
I tried switching over to ART and back to Dalvik. Made no difference either way. Also tried clearing default applications in case video playback was somehow tied to an app that wasn't fully 4.4-compatible.
Anyone else having the same problem?
As a side issue - I can't interact with the like/dislike/share icons at the top of the video. Is this also a common thing?
having the same issue: embedded youtube videos on chrome browser does not have audio.
did not update bootloader, sideloaded odexed 4.4

Yeah, I should note that as well - I sideloaded - I did not get OTA.
As an experiment I went ahead and did the nuclear option - restoring to the factory image that just got released. Good news, that did the trick and videos in Chrome are now behaving.
Bad news...now I have to wait for all my apps to restore
Weird. Wiped, updated boot loader, flashed deodexed and now it is working.
