Like some of you I have noticed that the new Nexus seems to be a bit harder to hold on to compared to the old one. I think it's largely due to the more slippery back material. Perhaps the thickness (or thinness) has something to do with this too. At any rate I added some Sugru to mine and it is now MUCH more comfortable and stable in the hands. Not to mention adding a little more drop protection on the corners.

Still fits into the Timbuk2 Kindle Fire pouch for travel.
Wondering what other solutions folks have come up with?
I find the original nexus 7 significantly more comfortable. The right case might help. I'm curious what solutions others find for this.
That just looks weird. I find the new nexus 7 perfectly to hold.
OP - That is both bizarre and fascinating, thank you for posting.
I would be embarrassed to use that in public. I would use a cheap slim TPU case.

I'm sure it works fine but now it looks ascetically terrible.
Just found out about Sugru, interesting stuff :good:
Dude hate to be mean but it looks like mutant space ninja gummy worms from the crab nebula in search of yummy jelly beans have infested your nexus. Please fumigate or something
You should add green and red and then at least you can have the nexus colors!

I like the way the new nex feels compared to the last one. Much lighter and thinner. In not sure if it is as durable as the last one though. It is a good thing I don't plan on dropping it.

I never really bothered messing with battery apps and such, but since I planned on running them when I upgrade to the SGS3 I picked one up and noticed a trend. Every once in a while I get a voltage spike. Any idea's what would cause this?

It would almost seem like the battery is going bad. (which is a possibility) but i don't see big instantaneous drops in the percentage. How old is your battery?? If it is over a year old then it is time to replace it. But if you are going to replace the phone then i dont know if you really want to. Its only about 5 bucks to replace.

Thanks, yeah I'm replacing the phone. If its only $5 I may pick one up anyway as I plan on using the DX as a stand alone music player while I do outside work. I'd rather break the DX than my SGS3.

I use my Droid X while doing yard work quite often, there's not much you can do out there that will harm the device.
Extended batteries (BH6X) can be bought fairly cheaply online.

Hello,
Does anyone recognize this leather pouch?
It looks like an OEM pouch for Nexus 4.

I think I should have posted this in Accessories sub forum...
Nobody?
This one?

I have that pouch and it's not oem. It's not even made of real leather. N4 sits in snuggly but it has to be naked meaning no cases or bumpers.
I'm not sure. Is it the same? The upper part looks different.
Forgot to post mine when I made the comment

Thanks a lot for posting the picture.
I guess I'll get one from Bugatti.
You can also go to dodocase.com and pick up a very nice leather wallet pouch from them for the Nexus 4. I'm getting one myself once I can afford it.
The phone is already too large for my taste, so I don't want a huge case like the one from dodocase.com.
I want the smallest possible case or pouch that fits the phone.

Hi all,
I must say from having my z1 compact for about a week now it totally kicks a$$ over all the other phones I've had (and I've had a lot!)
The phone is fast, beautiful and feels sooo good in the hand!
I'll add my picture soon but wondering how everyone else has "pimped out" their Z1 Compact!?
In a couple of days mine will have temporary screen protector and will have the Punisher!! on the back

Well my skin finally came in the post!
And my Z1c looks and feels so cool in my hand! It protects the back without having to put a case on so it feels bulky in your pocket!
Plus I can safely place the phone down on the table without worrying about scratching the back!
Here's some snaps!

Sure I won't put the Url but if you search "skinzone eu" on Google it will come up first search. Lots to choose from plus not just your phone
The back of my Black SP has always looked very plain to me so I decided to change that, for very cheap (£1) I bought some Carbon fibre foil online and applied it to the back of my SP.
Here's the end result.

I think it looks very stylish and it's very cheap and easy to do. Also if you don't like the black one there are many colours of foil to chose from.
What do you guys think?
Wow, looks good and is cheap, could you post the link?
I have always been deterred by the 'foils' and 'stickers' but that actually looks nice, was it hard to apply? Also what does the texture feel like? :fingers-crossed:
Also this thread should be in the Accessories section not General.

It wasn't very difficult to apply other than the mic, camera and the speaker holes, the texture is hard to describe, it's both rough and smooth, it's grippy when dry but becomes slippery with moisture on it, overall I really like it!
LINK
(good point on the accessories section, I forgot it exists)
Wow, wanting to do this with metalic red or blue on frame

How does it feel when you touch?
I've had my Nexus for nearly 3 months and yesterday I noticed the black strip (grille) that runs along the speaker was wobbly. I lightly rubbed my finger along it to see how lose it was and the next minute it has fallen out. I not had this phone very long, I've looked after this phone very well using a case and a tempered glass screen protector, and it's already breaking. Not good considering I spent nearly £600 on this! Has anyone else had similar problems?

You are not the first to have this happen, the last time I read a thread on this the owner got a replacement from Google. If you bought from huawei, good luck.

It happened to me, had mine for few months and one time when I pulled it out of my pocket the grill just wasn't there anymore. I bought it from Google and got it replaced with no issues, didn't have that issue so far after a few months with the second one.
Same thing has happened with me, although I've been using it for more than two years now.
Best part of this is, by "wasting" 2 minutes of any part of your day and adding the smallest amount of superglue to it, you will solve this immense problem 100% and then you can forget about having this issue ever again :silly:
UP!
I'm also looking for this grill.
Any solution?
