Hi,
I own an Samsung Galaxy S3 4G, but I'm getting real tired of these unstable ROMs and undocumented hardware. Plenty of features are not working because of this.
So, after abit of googling it seems like the Oppo is a great phone!
How stable are the ROMs? How well documented is the hardware? How's the phone in general?
My fingers are itching and I'm about to buy it, but I just wanna know the few things I mentioned above before doing it!
Cheers,
Sebastian

How do I know if I'm getting the x907 or x909? Seems like there's just ROM support for the x909!

As far as I know the X907 is only available in Chinese markets. If you ordered from Oppostyle it will be X909

It's good to see people still trying to get things working and I must say this is the best way for Sony to make the best of the situation. If this statement is true then I would have some more respect for Sony. I just hope that the game/touchpads can be resolved. I am sticking with ICS with emulators working ok, and only a few other hd games working with the help of joystick 6 so it would be nice to get some games back working.
Edit** it would also be nice to have a dedicated thread at some point for working on the gamepad so other developers can get to work also.

Thats what i got back from him. If that brings us cm9 fully working + gamepad and touchpad thats even better than official update. =)

Not yet. They can say much, it only counts if something really happens. It is a good chance though.

Although I haven't been contacted personally by Sony (I have no developer links with them) in the past they have open sourced stuff for FreeXperia such as reworked HAL, so yeah, they probably were not aware of this issue.
Developer support from Sony is amazing

Has anyone heard or seen any new details on this? It would be badass if the touchpads were 100% working in CM9. That would be sweet.

I mean this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719746
Plays games like dead trigger or riptide gp pretty good. Also joystick center works and n64 oid with touchpads. Infact MOST games work.

Good to know bugs are still being fixed. Sorry to go off topic..but.. I have browsed the miui threads but I have never even tried miui. I think im only judging it on appearance but I dont like how the icons look like IOS (Apple ...which I hate). What does it have that cyanogen roms do not? Is it any good?

It requires Sense so there's little hope of it being ported over to non-Sense phones...

might want to get a htc one im sure that is pretty dependent on sense
Blink would also require Sense framework I would imagine, so a Sense port would be needed

In the market search Sense 5 theme.

I imagine a launcher will come out that mimics its functionality eventually, but a straight port from the HTC One is very unlikely.
Wait for system files to leak and there may be people who start working on porting sense rom. Don't tell me it's impossible, everything is possible with a nexus.

If you run it, you're going to get a brick. it's not meant for the Nexus 4. You can't run a older OS on a newer device that absolutely has no support for it.

I have a Perfect Solution for you.
Just sell out your device and purchase 5 Samsung Galaxy Y (S5360) Devices. You could use GingerBread as well and YOU WILL HAVE 5 PHONES AT A TIME.
WOWW
Source : My Cousin! (ASIF KHAWAJA.)
if you can write the drivers for the n4 and 2.3, and port 2.3 to the n4, then you can run 2.3 on the n4. drivers for the n4/2.3 dont exist, so you would have to write them yourself.
