[help req][mod] Statusbar Signal Icons and Clock - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Was android coded whilst looking at it upside down? I'm currently trying to make a mod for the statusbar for CM10.2 where I'm moving the signal, and wifi icons to the left side. However.. I noticed that the battery icon says this
"<TextView android:textAppearance="@style/TextAppearance.StatusBar.Battery" android:gravity="left|center""
Correct me if im wrong, but wouldnt Gravity "Left | Center" mean its to the left, or in the center?
Im very confused.

Wrong Section? No?

You posted twice, I already posted what I think in your other duplicate thread.

Anyway this is what I said:
I assume it means that either means be on the left but move to the center if there is an other icon in its way or it will be on the left but on CyanogenMod there is an option to move it to the middle so it will move it to the center.

[Q] Galaxy S4 Status Bar Icons - What do they Mean?

Right now, my brand-spankin' new S4 has about twelve icons on the status bar.
I can guess to the meaning of about six of them.
Is there a reference somewhere that explains what each of these icons means?
A screen shot would help cool guy.

Here we go. (I think I attached it...)
A left pointing arrow with a '+' sign on it, an open box, a mail icon, a big M, a down arrow pointing to a horizontal line, a greyed out eye, a Bluetooth icon (that one I understand), a... well, I don't know what that is, a wi-fi signal strength indicator (I think), a 4G LTE indicator, a cell network signal strength indicator (I think), and a battery charge indicator (I think).
Is there some kind of master Secret Decoder Ring for these icons?

There was no manual in the box; I figured that meant there was no manual. How silly of me to expect a manual to be packaged with the product I purchased.
Would you be so kind as to post a link to the manual? I found Samsung's Galaxy S4 page at I-can't-pase-a-URL-because-of-my-postcount samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxys4 but I'll be a monkey's uncle if I can find a link to the user manual from there.
Seriously: thank you. I was honestly unaware that there was a manual for this device. (I was rather surprised at the lack of a manual, but saw no evidence to the contrary until I started this thread.)

Down arrow pointing to a line is either a download or an app that has been updated.

Like StolenVW posted, the user manual contains a list of all of the icons that the device can display. I know it was very useful when my phone was switching into EDGE and I didn't recognize the ICON from my normal LTE one. Check it out if you haven't by now and you will see that they are all listed within its pages.

Looking for a new lock screen

Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a lock screen that will give me notifications but also security, I've tried lockerpro and really like it but there is no security with it and having in effect to unlock two screens (if I use my built in security) kinda defeats the object of having an alternative lock screen.
Can anyone help.
Many thanks.
Azel

You can use any 3rd party lockscreen with the stock one. The stock one has an option to have slide + security or just security. So you turn off slide on stock and have slide on your replacement screen and security from stock.

Touchscreen problem

HI!
My n4's screen doesn't recognize touch on the bottom of the screen. Everywhere working fine but the last 1,5 cm so I cant't use the virtual buttons. I send it to Telenor to repair but after 3 weeks they don't do it, because the simtray is oxidized, so i lost the warranty...
Of course it hasn't got any water...
Do you have any idea what should i do?
Thanks,
Kodam
Its a common problem, flash PA pie and live with it.

I tried that but sometimes it randomly recognize touch on the bottom of the screen and not working until i switch the screen off-on.
Are there any mod which can decrease the "size" of the screen? With this the random touches can be avoided.
Sry for my english

Fling feature next level!

I just installed Dirty Unicorns and wanted to just tell everyone they have to try this new Fling feature. This is something Google should integrate into android o. I know they won't because setting it up would be to "advanced" for the average consumer but Holy hell this feature is genius!! And pulse is amazing too. I seriously feel like the first time I went from touchwiz to liquid smooth on my s4 a few years ago... Excited and blown away. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

The video didn't do much for me. But since I've enjoyed unicorns in the past I gave it a shot and messed with everything. I am able to change my lmt pie to other less used apps and shortcuts and Fling takes care of everything I do every time my phone is on. Really enjoying it.

For me it's kind of gimmicky feature. Doesn't take me anywhere faster than normal softkey navigation. Doesn't look good either (this is, I repeat, just my opinion).

I've tried it out but I still much prefer pie controls (lmt). My reason is that with fling there is still a bar taking up space at the bottom. I think smart bar is actually the better feature. I use it on my Nexus 7 that's installed in my car with shortcuts to navigation and audio apps for quick switching.

Frp initial scanning.

So I was creating 4 fingerprints today. For educational purposes I mixed and matched my three fingers used during each scan. Meaning, for scan 1 I used thumb left and right etc.. Worked good!

So for Finger 1, U used your right and left thumb to reach 100%. Then for fingers 2, you used other fingers of the left & right hands??
And doing this made your FPS success rate really good, is that what I got right?

I had a bad experience when I first got the S10+, but after the FPS update to 2.0.8.4 it is very accurate now...

Correct for one of my fingerprint scans I used both my left and right thumb. I use either left or right thumb to unlock. Also , I used the min amount of pressure to get the scan stored.

You know I was skeptical that this would even work, but I must say it works very well. It is weird that I know only have 1 registered finger (thumb) print but I can use either thumb to unlock my phone... Interesting..
