No, this is normal. You could try flashing a custom kernel and underclock and undervolt to lower the temperature.

But dont you think underclocking will make my phone slow?
Which is the best custom os for s4 out there which fast and without bugs?

Warm phone is perfectly normal especially under heavy load. This is passively cooled powerful computer, it has to produce heat and dissipate it somehow. It can even became very hot when playing high demanding games.
If you prefer reliable and stable device and don't like constant need for full wipes take this good advice and DO NOT underclock/undervolt, DO NOT mess with custom roms. Most stable and free of bugs is stock.
Undervolting will surely affect stability especially when you don't know what you are doing.
You can enable power save mode. This is the intended way to reduce heat and save battery.

Nexus 7 heating issue?

I have noticed that my games have been Slightly choppier and that it has SLIGHTY more lag , and that after I loosened the left side screws, it heats up anymore. Does anyone know the average heat, and an app to track it. Ad ideas? Thanks

Anyone? Thanks

You have installed slightly more apps. Things running in background will make it choppier.
Even my cellphone gets hot... Stored charge in battery converts to heat as you use it.
Should never get so hot it is uncomfortable to hold. Chaos and Order gets mine warm.
Okay. Thanks

Mobile devices can get up to 110 degress(or more) in certain circumstances. For example, when playing highly graphical/intense games, while GPS navigating/streaming music, streaming/playing movies, or AC charging... or any combination of the aforementioned.

This one is different. Itd get hot to where you couldn't touch your skin to it and then it would shut off

I get that, but that doesn't change what I'm talking about. If you're doing any of the things I've mentioned on the phone, it can get very hot and yes, it will turn itself off to protect itself from overheating. Your car and computer do the same things. Overclocking can also cause the phone to generate more heat than normal.
If you're trying to tell me that you're just talking on the phone, letting it sit idle on your desk, and/or looking at Facebook and you're reaching those temperatures, I A) find that hard to believe B) need to know more information to try and help you find out what's going on.
I get your trying to help me and I realize that but your firdt assumption in 100% correct. Yes. I find it hard to believe to but thats what happened

Did you ever try turning off wifi, Bluetooth, GPS separately to see which is causing the heat up. That level of heat sounds like a defect but it still would be isolated to a particular component. Should have checked the battery too.

You got a replacement, correct? Is the new one okay? It could have been a bad module or a bad contact not conducting properly. In any case it does seem like a rare thing. I actually love how this phone doesn't get very hot.

Check your brightness settings or check the temperature in developer options.
Maybe your screen is too bright or maybe it's a battery issue?

[Q] Very hot phone

Hi guys, I'm running the latest Omega ROM (v9.0) on my i9505 and if I use the phone for extended periods of time, the phone gets very hot near the speaker piece on the front and near the camera on the back.
Why is it so hot and if it isn't normal, how do I stop it?
Cheers

it's normal - it's where the cpu is located.

Mine also get hot, but I asume it's normal.

It's either the battery or the cpu, you're going to have some heat during operation, especially with that Marvell cpu, it has to work harder
Normal.

But the heat is from two different places, where one is near the camera (cpu) and the other one on the bottom which I have no clue what it is from.

Do you have the same tablet?

I get a lot of heat from the top/camera area. I figured It's just normal CPU heat since it always happens under load.
Assuming the layout is the same as Tab 2 & 3 7's, which with out a doubt Samsung didnt change it, battery was on the right hand side, all other internals on the left. The battery runs the whole length of the tablet. From bottom of the camera down to the bottom of the screen and probably/roughly 2/3's width of the tab. So 99% chance youre feeling the battery which is normal.

I had the 7" for a few days and noticed heat. But it is well within normal limits, and with a case you can't feel it at all. It will shut off before it over heats.
