Looks like the i9000 is actually getting that 2.3 update. Maybe some other SGS models will start seeing it, I'd say everyone but us will get a glimpse.
Wrong section.
But yeah, at least the gs family looks like it will all get gingerbread.
Usually if its pertaining to Froyo/GB people don't mind seeing it in here. Hell, most people only view this subforum of the Fascinate and not general or any others. But you're right.
I feel like the Epic and Vibrant will get it in a few months, and then 25 years later Captivate, Mesmerize, Fascinate.

Ohhh yeahhh. I haven't heard anything about that since DL posted an article though. Well, close enough, it's still very ironic.

It wouldn't have to be that way, if people would have a little consideration, and follow the rules. Personally, I don't want to see this crap in here, when I'm looking for files.

You're right, but nothing in the general section EVER gets viewed at or talked about. Everyone has their browser bookmarks set to development.
So it's all about page views then?

I have my bookmark set to the main page, so I can decide which board I want to look at, and I frequently visit the general board. By the way you're talking, you realize you shouldn't have posted here, but did it anyway. What makes you above the rules? It's called courtesy, and everyone should try it.

Nope, I'm just trying to spread the good news. Thought people would be interested. Decided I would put it in the "Wall Street Journal" as opposed to a "local smalltown newspaper".

I don't see how it'd be ironic if Samsung is first.
Google worked with them to release Gingerbread on some hardware that was only slightly different from the rest of their phones... They had an experience, resource, and time advantage over every other carrier... and yet they failed.
That's ironic. Samsung had every advantage, and yet couldn't even freaking get Gingerbread out on their flagship product before someone else. Seems like more motivation to me to avoid any future Samsung products.
And yeah, where to post things seems pretty obvious to me: Any discussion thread, where we're just talking about various random things go in General, questions go in Q&A, and actual releases (or things closely related to development... random questions about a ROM wouldn't warrant a new thread) go in Development. Posting things in the wrong section just to get more eyes seems fairly silly to me... if people aren't reading General, it's probably because they aren't interested in those things, probably only wanting actual ROMs/kernels/etc. Then again, making any comment on this topic seems to be a good way to get people to just flame you.

And now supposedly LG is working with Google for the Nexus 3 which will likely have the quadcore Tegra 3.

The rules are the rules...its not me being a ****...this is in no way shape or form development....and belongs in general
Its not up to you to decide that just because more people go here that "news" should also be in here as well
The rules are the same for everyone..otherwise development sections would be even more cluttered and difficult to navigate than they already are

Devs: Do you know if this particular portion of the Android framework is portable between devices?
The Dev's working on the LG O3D don't seem to have any interest in porting the awesome features we use on our devices to theirs, so I thought i'd take a stab at it and i'm looking for some direction.
Please tell me why the **** you post that in development section :-\ ?

You'll know when you see it. Not to be mean but there are to many "Is x.x.x.x root ready?" threads on this board. I think you guys should post to the questions board. Look in development board. Read popular on topic post. To answer your question, no a root is not ready except for 13/14.3.1.0. This kind of thing takes time. The demand here isn't like the IOS jailbreak community. Plus most of as have day jobs. Yes, we are keeping our eyes open for a hole to exploit.
I wish people would browse before posting :good:

Just help me, where to put my concept ?
On XDA Developer Forum or Nokia Forum or send report to Microsoft?

Yeah, thats the reason, I'm not able to post in achievement thread and hacking section.
First i need unlocked all capabilities to post.
djamol,
Let me be skeptical about your hack, coming to XDA to ask if you should tell Microsoft or publish it to the community sounds to me a way to make noise or drag attention, if you truly found a way to as you say "bypass security" at least you should came with a prof of concept.
Inform Microsoft or not, they will release a patch as soon as the hack is alive informed or released, that's for sure, so the only win situation in case you notify MS is for MS only, so coming to the community to ask if you should do one thing or another is like using the community for MS benefit. At least on my humble opinion.
A piece of advice, if you truly found something, at least make your post with a prof of concept, video, explanation (no need to put code or details) just something that can make your statement more solid.
And in my opinion, i agree with someone that replied to this thread telling you to send the hack to recognized developers for validation.
Regards,

@djamol
wp 8.1 apps can't be repacked and sideloaded . so for app's compiled for that the risk is low.
Agreed with pretty much everything here, and you should definitely work with cees. Let MS worry about blocking piracy; they already do a pretty good job of that (app DRM and such).
@djamol
Still nothing?

Can you unlock my all capabilities immediately?
To put my concept in achievement thread.
Exactly on the same date you made the same posting at WPCentral.
http://forums.wpcentral.com/softwar...ly-bypassed-security-nokia-lumia-devices.html
We are now a couple of days later and stil no proof of concept.
Exactly the same as on the other forum.
Same questions and answers.
It is for me save to say that i find it atleast suspicious and very doubtful that you overcome all those issues
and stil dont know what to do with it.
Besides that, here on Xda are a couple of great minds at work who are trying from day one to solve this prob.
They have proofen to be legit and have earned recocnizion here on this forum.
So do the same thing, give some proof of concept or be done with it.
I have read the whole tread on WP central, and stil.....nothing
And now you are here, and its exactly the same story.

Hi, I 'm, as a lot of XDA users, frustrated about the locked down state of the Fire HD tablets. I surfed the internet for a while trying to find a way to unlock those devices. And, why can't we unlock the bootloader by" kexec"? It sure is practically hard, but it had been done before. But, my knowledge on Android exploiting is pretty low, but there are veteran developers on this communty! Let's collaborate with this!
Any ideas and thoughts are welcome!
