Are you using the built in tethering, or a wireless tether app? Try uninstalling the wireless tether app and just use tethering built into android.
Hey,
Ive tried to wifi tether on gingerbread roms on both SD and NAND and it doesnt seem to work. I would be able to run the wifi tether app just fine however when anything tries to connect to the hotspot, nothing will succeed in doing so.
(Ive also tried wifi tethering using the in-rom settings).
I am able to wifi tether on froyo roms perfectly using the same APN settings and tethering app.
I am running the latest MAGLDR and tmous radio.
Any ideas or solutions?
shameless bump

Well my friend has HTC Wildfire S and it has its own application to be internet HoTSpOT.. that is what i am askin ..
Now it can... but you have to install Netfilter by AnDyX manually
It's called WiFi Tether... Here
so you can use Barnacle Wifi Tether, but it requires root

Idk, ask AnDyX.
Jk, I think native tethering via wifi now works, but WiFi as data connection will not work again until you reboot.
You need to reboot to get wifi working again, after using tethering.

Hello to everyone!
I have flashed my HTC HD2 to Android 2.2 a while back. Everything works great except I cannot connect to the internet throught my carrier (T-mobile) Wi-fi works without problems. This is the ROM used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
More info:
magldr v1.13 build feb 1 2011 by cotulla 2011
[30.DEC.10][DFT]LEO "Stock Desire" NAND Android ROM
Android Version 2.2
Radio 2.15.50.14
Kernel Version 2.6.32.15
HTC HD2 showing as HTC DESIRE A8181
Mobile Network is on
Access Point Names do not show
Thanks a lot!
If you don't have any access points, how do you think the device would connect to the internet?
While in APN, press menu > create new apn > set it up > menu again > save > select it.
That's the original proof of concept rom, really old,not rooted, and unlike any other rom,my advice would be flash a more recent rom.

Thanks a lot man! Learn something new.:good:
I'll post the T-Mobile APN settings later for those in need. Don't have 10 posts yet and cannot post a website..

One more thing to learn, don't say thanks, press the button instead. If you're still feeling a debt of gratitude even after pressing the button, then you can post about it.

BINGO! Switch Back to the fully functioning rom.
I switched to megarom because the weta rom had somethings in it i didnt like, i like the megarom as a whole because it fits my needs better, i was just trying to see if there was still a way to use tethering without switching roms
Check your APN settings for tethering you should have those:
HTML:
APN Type: default,mms,supl,dun,hipri
APN Protocol: IPV4/IPV6
APN Roaming Protocol: IPV4/IPV6
