Need some help. - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried flashing cyanogenmod's new nightly rom, then franco's kernel, then I flashed the .33/.84 hybrid radio (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358931) and I now I am having problems.
When I go to twrp recovery to flash the CM rom I have on the internal storage the line does not move and it keeps saying updating partition. And for someone reason I cannot find the nandroid backup I did before doing this, it somehow got deleted. I can't access my internal storage to add another rom or the correct .48 radio to flash because I'm just stuck in the recovery. It also says I have no OS installed whenever I do a restart to recovery. It is even telling me that I am not root and that I need to install SuperuserSU sometimes.
I tried loading up the adb sideloader but don't know how that works.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

DHD Cant Mount System After Flashing a New ROM

After having no issues with flashing ROM's, radios etc for over 6 months i've recently encountered a problem. When trying to update to CM7.0.3 from CM7.0.1 i had a system cannot mount error and was unable to flash any new ROM as a result. To try to fix this i formatted system and restored to a CM7 ROM and everything seemed fine. From here i can flash a ROM but when booting the new ROM it does not include gapps (even when selected to install from clockwork) and the system cannot mount error occurs again.
In short, everything seems to work fine currently but as soon as i flash a new ROM i get a system cannot mount error. The same thing happened with a CM nightly and so im thinking it is not just an isolated problem with a specific build.
Any help would be much appreciated. On a side note, on the restored ROM im currently using i have a LordMod Kernel installed, not sure if this would effect anything as when the problem was first encountered i did not.
Thanks.
Restore to a working ROM using your backups.
Boot into bootloader and then into fastboot.
Download ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.2.8 from HERE
Unzip and run install-recovery-windows.bat. This will flash the latest recovery for you.
Now try again.
Yeh that worked perfectly, thanks alot.

Boot loop - rooted Iconia a500 in taboonay 2.1 HC3.2

After playing a youtube video, suddenly my tab reboot by itself, and it stuck in a boot loop.
I tried to wipe factory setting and cache, still the same problem occured. I even tried to reinstall the same rom, it still give the same problem.
When i tried to install other rom (My-Rom 1.0) it stucks on installing kernel.
i try to find any hint on the xda, brought me to this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128565
it still unable to solve my problem. Hope anyone can help.
Try installing a different ROM, besides the two you installed, I had the same problem when I flashed HoneyVillain to Taboonay then to Lightspeed, I was stuck on a bootloop, couldn't flash back Taboonay, but was able to get HoneyVillain.
Still has the problem
I tried as you said, Installed honeyvillain 1.2 rom, and still has the same problem.
2 things which i realized is that,
1. there is sudden blink of loop screen that is different from boot loop that i have seen before.
2. there is error when i tried to do factory wipe
error moving data/data/com.estrong.android.pop/lib/libes_dropbox.so
hopefully anyone can help me
have you tried using acer recovery app to reinstal CWM, then use it to download just a basic 3.2 rom if possible and see how that goes
I am having the exact same problem error removing data/bluestacks, bootloops with little flashes in boot animation. tried every option in recovery and like 4 different back up restoration and the boot animation changes to that of the new restore but same thing.Help!!
thor's 13 then updated to 14 and this started
If you want, go to www.tegraowners.com . Thor's site. He made the recovery. If you go to his forums, Rom section, you will see he posted some steps to completely wipe internal memory. More than what the usual steps we take.
I suppose, there is some residual data left, which is why some errors are happening.
Also, any files named "update.zip", should be removed from SD.
Then you should be able to flash a new rom.
Here are the steps....
go to in recovery enter Backup and Restore and click on Toggle backup and restore of internal storage (/data/media)
should say enabled....
then go into Mounts and Storage and format /data
this will REALLY format data and you will loose all you have in the in the internal memory
then reinstall the rom and everything should work as expected....
im currently having this issue as of right now , idk wat the problem is
EDIT: and i cannot access CWM either

[Q] Custom Recovery Doesn't Work Anymore

Hello,
I've rooted my own note 3 and flashed Temaseks unofficial cm 12 rom. Everything works perfect so I decided to do the same thing for my father. It all went well, first I rooted his phone, then I flashed CWM and flashed cm 12 by temasek. The rom works fine but I forget to install the Gapps. So I tried to install Gapps but I got an error "Failure Status 6". I googled on that error and someone told it has to do something with CWM. I tried to flash a different version of CWM but now I can't reboot into recovery mode anymore. So I can't flash anything.
I flashed another version of CWM but this one also doesn't work. Whenever I try to boot the phone into recovery mode, the blue line shows up. Rebooting into recovery mode, but after a few secs, the phone just boots the normal way. Is there anyone that can help me to get CWM back to work? In the mean time I'll try to flash TWRP by Odin.
Thanks in advance!
So I flashed latest version of CWM: Buildversion; 6.13.0, CWM Base Version V6.0.4.7. I can reboot into recovery now but still can't install Google Apps due to failure status 6. On my own Phone I run a different version of CWM, but when I try to flash it, the phone won't boot into recovery mode anymore. It only boots into recovery when I flash this V6.0.4.7 . How can I get rid of this version and flash an older version of CWM?
You'll probably have to Odin back to stock and start over...

You mean If there is no other way to get the Google Apps on the phone, I have to go back to stock. I did make a backup with CWM on the while it was running custom firmware. Now I have 4 files on my comuter, 3.tar and 1.md5 . If I recover them, I will still have this not working CWM version on my phone right? Isn't there a easier way to delete CWM, can I flash TWRP over CWM and see if it will install these Gapps?
Yeah, you should be able to flash TWRP over it. TWRP is much better anyway, in my opinion. Once you get the recovery issue sorted, I really wouldn't't recommend trying to flash just the gapps. It would probably work, but it's also quite likely to cause some weird issues. It's always best to flash gapps immediately after flashing a ROM, without leaving recovery.
I would flash TWRP, wipe everything but your internal SD, re-flash the ROM, flash the gapps, and everything should be cherry.
Edit: here is the link to download TWRP.

I appreciate your effort, thank you. The recovery issue is solved. I flashed Chainfires Root script and that installed the stock recovery. However, when I tried to install and older CWM version I got back in the recovery reboot cycle. But once I installed the latest CWM it booted in recovery. So I flashed Chainfires Root once again and had the stock recovery back. From there on I tried to install TWRP but got the recovery boot cycle again. My phone is now running android 5.0.2 and I think that's the problem.... :S I'll try again to flash Chainfires Root script to get the stock recovery back. From there on I will try to flash the link you gave to me with Odin and hope that will fix it. Do you have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Your version of TWRP works so far. It reboots into RecoveryMode. Now I'll wipe and try to install Temaseks Cm 12 followed by Gapps! Thanks so far!
Okay, it's solved. Can't thank you enough for you help. Bless you!!
No problem. Glad you got it figured out!

[Q] Can't flash ROM or restore backup

Hello there.. I normally don't have a problem figuring out what to do but I'm totally stuck here. I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 SPHL720T. I was rooted and running a custom ROM. I was having issues with the wifi so I decided to flash back to GPE 5.0.1 here from the xda forums. I am running twrp v2.8.4.0. I made a backup and wiped system/data/cache and dalvik. I went to install JFLTE-GPE-20150303 (LRX22C) from ultimarom.com via here at XDA. It said zip is corrupt. So i redownloaded on my PC and transferred it to my sd card. Still said corrupt. So I downloaded a different ROM on my PC and moved to SD. Still said corrupt. I tried to flash a GAPPS package and it worked but no ROMS I tried would. I tried to install my latest backup through recovery. It said MD5 doesn't match. If I hit reboot in twrp it prompts to install superuser because the phone doesn't appear to be rooted. If I hit that it runs the script for about 2 seconds then reboots. It won't boot into the OS as there is no OS and if I reboot into recovery it still gives me the "install su" prompt at the reboot screen. So then I hooked up into ODIN and download mode and flashed "CF-Auto-Root-jflterefreshspr-jflterefreshspr-sphl720t.tar.md5" and "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-jfltespr.tar". Still having the same issues. I have no idea what to do at this point. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I need my phone for work and play .
Thanks,
Aaron

SM-N900W8 (Canada) - CWM Recovery Bootloop?

EDIT:
Please delete thread. There is an issue with my SD card resulting in files being corrupted. Massive losses. I was able to successfully install ROM by uploading files to Internal Storage
Hello,
I have been attempting to flash AryaMod : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-aryamod-v1-3-tw-lollipop-5-1-1-t3326976/post67619860#post67619860
on my SM-N900W8. From the stock rom, I rooted it using CF-Auto-Root, then installed TWRP.
After downloading and putting all the necessary files on my SD Card, I attempted to install this but TWRP kept giving me file errors "Error: Secure Check Fail : aboot" when attempting to install anything, the kernel, the rom, the bootloader and modem, etc. Nothing was working.
I read that TWRP isn't very good with Aroma stuff and I should be using CWM, so I attempted to install that. Everytime I installed CWM, it would say it is going into recovery, then restart the phone, over and over..
Figured that I needed to just do a fresh install. I get a new Stock Lollipop 5.0 DOH1 from Kies, reroot with CF-Auto-Root, then install CWM from ROM Manager. Same thing, recovery bootloops.
Is there a way to fix either CWM or to get Aryamod to work with TWRP? Is the CF-Auto-Root breaking the recovery install since it installs through recovery as well?
At this point I've spent an entire day trying to get Aryamod with no luck. What the heck am I doing wrong?
