OK so the iOS 7 beta 4 came out yesterday so I downloaded it to my computer overnight. So I held down alt and pressed check for update this morning and selected the ipsw I downloaded. So i left it to update and i came back and it looked like this and wouldn't move. So I attempted to put it into recovery mode and it didn't work. What do I do?

Hardware hacking?
And iPhone?
Wrong place
That's weird.
hold the power + home button until it goes all black (like 10 seconds maybe) and then let go of the home button and keep holding power, it should reboot into iTunes recovery mode.
Try to flash again.
Also, we don't have an iOS section here, the appropriate place for such questions is here:

As above, use our iPhone site - you'll get more luck there.

So I was playing with my nexus s and the screen shut off with out the old TV animation and woke it back up and I see SAFE MODE in the bottom left.
I rebooted and was back to normal..... has anybody else had this problem and how did it happen? What caused it?

I had the same thing happen to me last night as well. I'm not sure what caused it? Like you I rebooted my phone, and I was all good again.
Happened to me yesterday when booting the phone. Rebooted and everything went back to normal.
that happened to me when i had my HTC Hero CDMA
i never figured out what it was.
I had this same thing on my myTouch 3G. If you held down a button while starting up it put the
Phone in Safe Mode. It basically made all non-default applications not work. Did you guys try starting it up while holding a button?

I had the same thing. I remember I was trying to boot into bootloader with the down volume key. That didn't work but I think that may have been the cause. Of course I now know it's the up button that does it all.

Hi guys from what i have read the safe mode is in case you get app. that starts to act up my making your phone go nuts you can go in to safe mode by turn off your phone and while turning it on hold the menu button you go in to safe mode that way no third party app. are loaded so you can delete the app. that gave you the trouble that's what i have seen on the nexus s!!!!!!
good deal. I remember that I was wiping the screen off on my shirt while booting. Must have been what caused it. Useful info for the future for sure.
It happens when you turn on teh phone and half way through the boot process you hold the volume buttons
Rooted, using Cyanogen... will turn off randomly when the screen times out, when I hit the N button nothing... any idea's?
How's about hit the power button instead of the N button
Try connecting it to your computer, mine does the same thing, and the only way to get it to respond is to connect it to my PC and hit the power button.
My does the same thing.
Mine does this too. Just flashed it with using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227 yesterday.
Any fixes?
I just took miui and put nightlies on there so let's see

Idk why you post 2 threads but for me if i turn wifi off before i put my nook to sleep i don't get SOD (screen of death) which is what your experiencing. Give that a try.
mine did the same....
which build is stable and without this problem?
Maybe you should check the dates on the threads... I thought I had this one deleted...I found pressing the power button and not the nook button prevents it from happening so ill try that out also

So, I had this problem which I posted a thread about it a few hours ago
( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619564 )
and I tried this steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1394238 to restore stock.
When it finished, it booted and everything was fine, I think, and now it's stuck on the mytouch animated logo. I've been like this for like 10 minutes now. I am afraid to take off the battery and brick the phone, again but in a position where I can't fix it. It's like loading and loading and loading. I can't turn it off.
Btw, it didn't give me any error and it's not giving me any kind of error.
What you should do, if its been awhile as you have said, & by my calculations its been well over an hour, then take out your battery for about 5 minutes. Then put it back in, hold volume down then press power and hold them both til your phone boots up. If everything goes well it should attempt to update again.

I just got the 4.4 ota update. Everything seemed to go well during the install. There are several issues now though. The home button appears at the bottom but does not work. The settings button in the top right corner after dragging down from the top does not work. The only option when I push and hold the power button is power off. It used to let me go into airplane mode, silence mode, etc.
I updated from stock 4.3. Any help or ideas?

Known issue. No fix yet though. I saw something about this on Android Police. You can check it out there if you want.
Any other ideas? I've been searching and can't seem to find any fixes for this. Do I need to somehow flash 4.3 and then reflash 4.4?
I had the same, did a factory reset and all my problems were solved.

I used the nexus toolkit to unlock my nexus 10. I allowed it to reboot from the software interface and it failed to boot into fastboot. Now it is stuck in boot loop. I've tried 100 times to press power and volume buttons to access stock recovery and all it does is vibrate. What am I doing wrong?

First dont use toolkits second boot into fastboot and then into recovery.

Is your device charged enough? Or doesnt it show anything at all when plugging in?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
When this first started yesterday it was fully charged. I believe it is low now but I have it plugged in. It shows the battery charging icon at the moment.

Maybe it was too discharged? Have you tried after about half an hour?

Just tried again. It's been charging for 4 hours and still does the same thing. I hold all the buttons down and it vibrates about every 5 seconds or so. It's strange, I've installed custom roms on several tablets and phones but never had this problem.

Hi,
I hope you figure out how to solve the issue with your nexus by now. If you have not then I would like to tell you that I experienced the same issue. I used nexus toolkit to get back to stock room after rooted with the toolkit and then flashed Cyanogen nightly. But when I tried to boot up, the screen stuck in a bootloop. And I tried the button combination many times, all I heard was the vibration after 5 seconds. I spent days reading on the xda and Android forum but could not found out why. But then I read about Flaws in Nexus 10. One of the user mentioned that he could not get into the fastboot mode with the button combination and he returned his device as a defective unit and Google accepted it and replaced him with a new one. His conclusion was that the device actually was in fastboot mode even the screen wasn't on.
So I thought my device was suffering the same defect, so I plugged it in my laptop after hearing the vibration, my laptop recognized it and I was able to flash the stock rom. After all this, I still not manage to get into fastboot mode on my Nexus 10. A friend of mine tried to fix my tablet, he kept it for a month and only twice he managed to get the fastboot screen shown up and that occurred after when he had been playing with buttons for more that 3 hours.
I do hope that you have fixed your tablet by now, if not I hope this info will give you some clues, and sorry if you don't understand my English. It is my fourth language and I'm really not fluent at all.
I have Nexus 5, and nexus 7 2013. The button combination to fastboot works fine no problem at all.
