[Q] Bright pixel band on screen - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello XDA forum members,
I have a Black Samsung Galaxy S4 16GB capacity ATT model. There is a band of pixels which is brighter than the others about 1.25 inches from the bottom of the screen. In order to reproduce the problem, set brightness to minimum setting. Then open up a browser and load up a solid grey color image. You will be able to see a bright band of pixels. I have had three replacements from ATT and same problem on all of them. I am sure it is a hardware / firmware error as taking a screen shot and viewing it on a computer screen does not show problems. I attach settings and couple of images with the band.
Any thoughts on how to proceed?

[Q] Blue tint, not everywhere and not all the time

Search did not reveal any post with this particular screen defect.
The phone is a collegue's of mine so I can't troubleshoot it directly or tell you baseband etc. It's brand new, 4.2.2, and a 4G so probably i9505 (bought in europe, sweden). It has not been droppped, collegue would have said if this was the case . What collegue told me was it was like this when collegue got it.
Sometimes screen becomes blue, but only parts of it. You can see this clearly on the attached photos. It's most promient on white areas, which are not white at all, but, well, blue!
Especially note the partial blueness of Whatsapp icon borders.
Screen lock is being used, blue tint appears on lockscreen as well.
Could not isolate when this occurs. I did not experiment much with the giroscope, don't think that's it. I also seem to recall viewing angle not making a difference. I did have it in my possesion for 30 min, during which the blue tint did not occur. Auto brightess was already off, took brightness down 2 or 3 notches. This is what I changed in settings -> display:
Screen mode: standard
Auto adjust screen tone: off
options that should not be relevant
Screen timeout -> 5 min
Wifi -> off
After this I gave it back to collegue, about 10 minutes went by, collegue took phone out of pocket and activated screen. Now the blue tint was back. At this time I took the attached photos a well as did as screenshot capture, which is not attached, but the blue tint was present there as well. It looked exactly the same as the actual OS/what I had seen with my eyes.
Device was a this time lieing on a flat surface.
I told my collegue to turn in the device for another one, but collegue would rather try/hear about/research a DIY- solution first.
Is this a common defect? Is it sw or hw? Can it be fixed? Etc...

edit: it seems to occur when the phone's screen has been turned off for a couple of minutes. Yesterday I unlocked device after being dormant for some hours, blue tint was there. Screen timed out by itself and when I unlocked blue tint was not present. Waited 4 min then unlocked, and sure enough blue was back. Turning on-off screen solved it once again. Also tried repeatedly locking-unlocking without blue tint reappaering.

True Blacks are Grey (ish)

Hi guys,
I have noticed in the dark when using my note 3 in the settings menu the bottom portion of my screen seems to be grey not black. At first I thought maybe this was a software issue so I took a screen shot and zoomed in. When viewing the photo zoomed in the entire screen is grey ish with lines (normal lines had on all amoled screens) When moving the image the greyness does not move which to me says its the screen. However! When using a pixel tester and putting a pure black picture up the screen is perfectly black.
Ideas or thoughts?

That's the way Touchwiz and Gingerbread was originally designed and Samsung kept it this way. This is completely normal and is the software. It's not an issue. It is the same way on my Note 3,Note 2 and Galaxy S II.

What is up with my screen?

Hey guys, I bought a brand new S7 edge and the first thing I noticed is that it's not as bright as the S6 edge Plus when on full manual brightness, is that normal? Also the white is not as white as the entire screen (not just the corners) has a greenish hue not just on the corners which is normal, but the entire screen. Another issue is that auto brightness does not actually dim or brighten the screen automatically.
Please look at a comparison picture between a colleagues s7 edge on full brightness/adaptive display, and mine which is the same setting apart from my font size is set to tiny.
Change the screen mode to AMOLED cinema. Then it will be brighter.
Wow the device on the left has a huge pink tint in the whole screen, your screen is just fine (unless yours is the one with the pink tint, if yes replace it imo)

S8 Display turning Yellowish and dark lines with <50% brightness

Hi,
I am using S8 SM-G950FD on stock android 8.0.0 from year+, all of a sudden the display on the screen has turned yellowish, i have tried the adaptive display option and changed the RGB to max and low and the settings for edge colour but the display is still yellowish.
Also noticed another thing: If the brightness is <50% the yellowtinge with black lines come up but if >50% then the display is fine.
I tried to click photos/ take screen shots but the yellowish is not visible on photo, but the dark horizontal lines on whitebackground are clearly visible. have not dropped the phone but this has begun suddenly.
when the phone is under bright light the automatic brightness increases the brightness of screen and the display is clear, when the phone is moved into low brightness the mentioned issue comes up
Any suggestions on how can i resolve this?
Any help is appreciated, phone is out of warranty. Is there any any replacement circular for galaxy s devices, like FOC?

This is silly-S10+ screen dimmer/colours in lower brightness (read my post)

Hello there everyone,
My S10+ Exynos variant suddenly started showing wierd colour bad contrast in lower britgthness. When dimming the phone below 40% , the picture/video quality gets so dimm, pale, also i notest at work, my other two coworkers have same phone, with notisably darker picture, pictures and videos are darker , contrast is wasy better between dark and bright parts of the picture. And i know about all settings, vivid, advanced, visibility enhancments, Themes. Tried em all. I know android very well in stock settings.
Also i have tried factory reset, wipe chache, i even F...uking updates the phone to the very last firmware, and each update even after factory reset didnt change anything. Its still the same. At lower brigthness the screen gets so grenish dimmed and pale, colours lack contrast.
And also another wierd thing... in both of my coworkers s10+,s dark mode (night mode from pie) is amoled dark, pixels turned of, on my phone its not, they are turned on, dark grey colour. Funny thing is, if i take screenshots, they are not, screenshot shows amoled dark. While in phone, pixels are turned on, like its backlight lcd panel and not amoled. Screen failure or something else i can do?
Any tweak app or something to play with contrast ratio in Samsung Galaxy s10+?
