Hi guys,
I've a major problem. Today I received a notification from google to update my N4 to 4.3 version (OTA). My phone isn't rooted, not bootloaded or anything, it's just the same as I bought it. Since the installation was finished, my device is restarting itself every 0.5-1 minute. of course I can't use it anymore. I tried to make factory reset, but it didn't help. In addition, I noticed that when I charge it or connect the device to my computer, it doesn't restart itself.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Yaniv

Yes, I did it. nothing has changed.
What should I do?
Try downloading the factory image and flashing it

Oops, accidental thanks.
Ok so you will have to unlock the bootloader first and then flash this: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occamjwr66v
Go to bootloader mode and run the batch file.

There's no need to unlock bootloader for flashing factory images afaik.
--
Nevermind, bootloader needs to be unlocked.
Remind that unlocking the bootloader WILL wipe data!
If you have no experience in using ADB/Fastboot. I recommend using "Wugfresh Toolkit" version 1.6.4 worked on 4.3 for me (I messed up my stock ROM after OEM unlock).

I have a N4 which was unlocked and rooted after updating to 4.3. I figured, I'd give Franco Kernel a shot so I proceeded to download the Franco Updater from Google Play.
Selected automatic flash and reboot and now it's stuck in a perpetual boot state. I attempted to proceed with a hard reset through the recovery mode; using ClockworkMod Recovery. I wiped my data, cache and dalvik cache and then went on to reboot system.
Up till' now, my N4 is on the boot Google screen. I tried doing the above steps multiple times but the results remain the same.
I'd appreciate if any help is directed on how I would be able to reset my device to factory settings. I don't mind going through the unlocking and rooting process again; I just need it to get through the boot screen
Go to the bootloader and run this tool: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occamjwr66v
It works every time.
Something went wrong with the flash for sure, I can tell in many ways so wiping will not help anyway unless you flash an other kernel.
This will wipe EVERYTHING so I don't know if it is worth flashing or flash an other kernel, you choose.

Make sure it is Mako/Occam.
What ever android version you chose extract the file twice until you get to the contents and run flash_all.bat, if the script says that you are missing the Fastboot file you have to get it from the SDK.
Make sure your device is on the bootloader which is unlocked.

I'm guessing this doesn't work on Mac? Because I'm currently on my Mac machine at work. If it's only for Windows, I gotta try it when I get home later.

There is .sh has well which should work on Mac BUT you have to go though a lot with drivers.
FACT: Google Developers use Mac.

Just to be clear, this solution is just to flash your device back to stock.
Ok so I rooted my nexus 7 (2013) and the other day the 4.4 kitkat update came out, so naturally i updated forgeting it would take away superusers.
So i had figured out that it took it away so i flashed my nexus to 4.3 again to try and get it back. The problem now is that I cant see my nexus 7 in my device manager and the nexus is stuck on the google logo. any help?

Most bootloops after updates are solved by powering down and then wiping the cache/dalvik cache. There's no need to flash the system image. In fact, flashing the system image only may not get him out of the bootloop.
If he wants to go back to root, he'll need a custom recovery in any case. I'd recommend flashing a custom recovery, booting into that recovery and wiping cache/dalvik cache.

There were a couple or things that caused this, and it was stuck at the google logo (that's not a Bootloop) . I helped take care of it in the end.

So when I try to install the new 4.4 update it is stuck on the rebooting now screen, It has been there for 20 minutes. I am unlocked and rooted if that makes a difference. Also I tried to flash thunderkat and that also failed in twrp. I have no clue why. Just seeing if anyone might have an answer for my problem.

I had exactly the same, you must exit out of bootloop, factory reset then continue. WUGS NRT for N10 tells you to do it and how and when. I've only had this issue on N10, not my N7 or N4.
Example video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1Se7Hr9Cww
My nexus won't even reboot. It stays at that installing update screen, was that how yours was?

Huh? Are you updating? Don't. Do fresh stock install. Then unroot with no custom recovery. Then install custom recovery.
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
In the mean time, you can return to normal by reflashing the cm nightly/stable ROM you were running when you tried to update to 4.4. I had the same issue, but managed to reflash the stable cm 10.2 zip and my nexus began to function again.

But also I would like to know how to go about reflashing stock and undoing root without permanently losing my game data. From what I understand, a nandroid backup would take care of all of that for me?

Flash the latest Factory image via fastboot. There is a way tot modify the flash-all.bat so it wont wipe any data.

Yes.
So? I backup myself and restore myself, using LAN file-server for small files and a USB drive for large files.
There is more time wasted in trying to keep data and settings than the time it takes to re-enter.
Good evening guys, i have my nexus 4 dead.....
I had a lollipop official factory image installed on my n4... After some week of usage (with 0 problems) I drained my battery to 0 and since then, i had the annoyng bootloop on lollipop dots on booting.
What i did:
Restored to factory and deleted cache using the recovery system, no results
Installed TWRP, cleaned the cache and all the other stuff, no results
Installed CWM, cleaned the cache and all the other stuff, no result
Installed a fresh and new factory image, no results, sometimes the device is stuck on the dots, somethimes download the app and it locks on "Android starting app"
Rooted, then installed cyanogen 12, same, sometimes the device is stuck on the blue cyanogen logo, somethimes download the app and it locks on "Android starting app"
So now, what i can try???
It can be an hardware problem?? But what kind of hw problems?
Thanks in advance for the possible solution,
Petar

Did you factory reseted the phone or you flashed a factory img?
If you did flash a factory img,try another one, maybe kitkat. If not, flash factory img and see it boots.

I will try this evening with the 4.4 but i'm very dubious on the results.... I will let you know
I just need to wipe the Cyanogen mod, then flash the factory over it, right?
Just reboot your phone in bootloader, connect it to pc and run the flash-all.bat and let it do its thing..
Flashed the 4.4.4 factory image ... Same issue, system won't boot.
It's locked on the annoying flying dots....
What can i try?????

No reboots at all, but I would try wiping the cache partition from recovery first before resetting. If you have TWRP installed wipe the dalvik cache too. This will often clear up minor glitches and problems. The first boot will take longer than normal while it rebuilds. If that doesn't work, a factory reset may be in order, but I would strongly recommend unlocking your bootloader at the same time. If you haven't done so already, it will factory reset the device upon unlocking. You can get more information and a how-to in the tutorial..
If you're rooted, you could look in /proc/last_kmsg to get some context on the fault.

Yeah same here. Been doing the same for too long. Now on Nexus I'm happy with stock. There's just root that I keep exactly for this reason. But yeah I do have to take the laptop to do updates (FlashFire has failed a few times).
Understood. Hope you solve your issue with factory reset or maybe flashing a previous radio.
BTW today I reverted from 7.1.2b to 7.1.1 and began having radio problems (which I didn't have before on 7.1.1) and strangely factory reset did solve the problem.
