I also found this annoying, especially while watching video etc. The only solution I ever found was to mute the sounds, which stopped the alerts interrupting the music or video playback, and as a bonus, you still hear the ringer through the headphones
If you have/use tasker, you can create a policy that detects when your watching films or listening to music and automatically sets the alerts to mute, then sets it back when your done.
But how to mute? I selected mute sounds in configuration and player stopped too.

I just mute it using the mute/vbrate toggle in the quick setting menu and still am able to play music via google play or videos

When playing music, the audio will get interrupted by notification audio. Is there a way to disable this?

I HATE the way Android handles notifications during music playback, in where it stops the music, plays the alert, resumes music playback.
Most of the time when I listen to music I just put it to vibrate or silent, but I noticed when I put it on vibrate, notification sounds still come through during music! This happened using Spotify and Google Music.
Is this a bug or can I never truly mute notifications during music?
Well I don't have that problem what happens is it fades the music but it doesn't stop playing it...but then again I'm using the stock player so maybe Google music and soptify handles notifications different?

The bug is notifications coming through on Silent or Vibrate mode.

Hi,
if I insert the headphones into the phones jack poweramp automatically starts up and plays music, tho however for a split second I can see the music controls on the lockscreen, however some reason they dissappear right after? Is there some way to get them to stay?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Is there any way to play music while on a call?
I'm back on stock Bell ROM and rooted but thinking about going back to xtrastolite as it's way better.
Thanks,

And why do you need to listen to music while on a call?
For instance if I wanted to play a song on voicemail or a recorded call to another person.

So do I understand you correctly, you would like to be on a call on your phone and then play a audio file (Song, VM, whatever) outloud so they can hear it as though you were holding 2 devices?
If that's right I think that would be a multi level challenge. Problem you will face I believe is the rom itself is pretty deeply coded to mute music for calls, for gps, etc... so MIGHT be a possibility would be to install a 3rd party music player and code the output of that player to say the REAR speaker and ignore any pause or mute requests, but idk for sure... I bet this would be a lot of close one door open 2 more kinda thing for a while.
So, for several weeks this was working fine, where if I was using poweramp for instance, my notifications came through my buds. Sometime after I upgraded to the alpha, all sounds got diverted to the speaker (both music and call tone or notification), and then the music comes back. Can anyone state how theirs is working with poweramp? Admins at poweramp suggest it's the phone dictating this in the threads I found. I also found one thread where someone said, they could "fix" this by temporarily using the factory buds... (this is just with poweramp, my stock player works fine)
Extremely annoying...
Also, anyone know what this volume icon (the bottom one) means? I get it in poweramp, but not for the stock player....
The icon is for screen cast

To be more specific: its for everything that goes over the G Cast API, no matter if its just sound casted from a audioplayer or screensharing
Thanks! Can anyone comment on how their notifications are working with poweramp alpha?
