I updated my Galaxy s5 AT&T before o knew that it would compromise rooting it. Will there be a root available for the updated version anytime so? If not, is there anyway to revert back to the old version?
This has been answered hundreds of times. No you can currently root and there is no way to go back. Only time will tell when a root method will be found

To the OP, please search the forum next time. 10 times a day users come in here and ask the same question. Some search and post in existing threads while most just begin a new thread without doing any kind of research.
As jd has said, you are now in a waiting game. Get comfortable. Cheers

The Verizon OTA that locked everything down just like our update was just recently solved, so maybe there is hope!
I understand it's a completely different network type, but at least it's encouraging news!

Unfortunately things like Samsung's air gestures, air view and really anything else that is exclusive to android on the s4 is owned and copyrighted (hopefully that's the right word) to Samsung. So it wouldn't be right, morally or legally, to use those in a custom rom. Perhaps in the future some of these features may be recreated. For example I know Task650's rom has stated he has the infrared blaster working, but I haven't confirmed myself due to using a rom other than aokp.

Is not so much copyright rules as it is custom code. The proprietary features from Samsung are not open source and not part of Android. In order for them to be included in another non-Samsung rom somebody would have to get source for these features.

someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe "S" Apps need TW to function.
There are many alternatives for S health in the Play Store. Since the Google S4 is coming out soon hopefully we'll get drivers for the IR blaster.

Any S-apps or features will not work on cm/aokp. These need tw-framework to run. And honestly I've ran cm/aokp roms on all my phones since the day I got my first android. This is the first Android phone that I'm actually content with using touchjizz and all of it's features. Really an amazing phone once rooted.

what have you done since rooting to make it moar amazing? I haven't really done much yet.
Just push them to /system/apps/ and find out. Won't hurt anything. Some TW system apps used to work in CM on the skyrocket.

I'm just curious if there are any ROMs that a person could flash to their S4 SGH-i337 without losing access to the IR Blaster? I am currently running CM 10.1 and I love it, but I would really like to still be able to use apps like WatchON or Smart Remote without having to go back to the bloated and bogged down stock AT&T firmware.
Looking around I haven't really been able to find much about it. From what I understand is that it either won't ever happen or it might happen on 4.3 when they devs have more time to crack it... I haven't seen anything about any working with a custom ROM currently.
So, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any ROMs that still have access to the IR Blaster?
Any with touchwiz should be fine as long as you download samsung crappack. Correct me if i am wrong. But AFAIK its just aosp/aokp/cm that doesnt suplort due to the nature of requiring touchwiz framework.

Unless Samsung for some reason loves us and gives us the drivers. But that is never going to happen.

Also, most of the touchwiz roms have removed the bloatware, att seems to be the only one that bogged down my phone really bad as I have the samsung crappack on it and it runs great. I am running MDOB with no issues. Night and day difference without the ATT bloat.
Hope I'm not breaking any rules I'm on mint v1 and all the Samsung stuff is thier without att stuff, and it's highly customizable. I'm sure thier are others but thats what I've used

YOu have to understand Samsungs end game which is Tizen. Their closed sourced OS. The give you the S4 and then the GE edition. They get you hooked on the gimmics they give you which means you will be more inclined to buy their Tizen devices. Also it is cheaper just to disable the sensors they remake the whole phone which is what would be needed.

Hi All,
I was wondering if the samsung original 4.2.2 stock ROM has multi user support. I just moved back from CM 10.1 and did not find it available straight forward. If it is not available, is there a way to enable it?

Sadly , Samsung didn't include this feature in ANY rom for the Tab 2, and as far as i can see, no custom rom has this either, I recall hearing of a group who tested it on our device, but it was scrapped for being far too unstable, slow and all around too much for our tabs to handle, I would think the tab 2, maybe overclocked if even would be enough to handle Multiwindow, but I don't know, I'd dig around a little bit , Google is your best friend! Would be cool to have it.

Hey guys! After finally finding out that i will be moving to Verizon (Finally after 4 years of T-mobile) i will be purchasing the Galaxy Note 3 and would like to begin development. First i want to say that i am very excited and thrilled to be able to develop for you guys! I do have a few questions so i can see how im going to plan out the development.
Is DSIXDA's Kitchen Supported for this GN3?
Any CM Builds Out There?
What do you guys want to see in a ROM?
It will be a couple of weeks before i will officially have the device in my hands but I am planning early. I do have ROM development skills and have a good background of it. (Check my signature for some of my work). I take pride in being one of the younger developers on these forums and its very cool to get to do what i do and enjoy it. Please help me by answering these questions for me. Also if there are any ROM devs that see this please comment or PM me because i would really like to get to know you! Thanks again guys!

Not sure what DSIXDA's Kitchen is.
No CM do to most of us having a locked bootloader, there's 20 people with the dev edition but most of us have retail and use safe strap to loads roms. (which I prefer anyway because of the multi boot)
I want to see something amazing

well, your reasoning might be good. Is it the Samsung crapware on the bootloader? I am not being funny, it's just that your answer was very brief and I couldn't see whether you had done any dev work on your member profile. If you have a particular and valid reason I would be interested because I am just learning and atm trying to figure out how to complile a cm11 for n3 9005 model.

I'm a note 2 device maintainer for aokp but that's irrelevant. Locked bootloader + no way to flash kernels + no loki/kexec type option = no aosp roms of any kind. Don't waste your time.
