IPhone 5 Earplugs Compatibility - EVO 4G General

I've been if there is anything i could do to make the iPhone 5 earplugs work FULLy. So far the mic and click end/call button works, the only problem is with the volume rockers, nothing there.
Running Euroskank 7.2.0.

Headphone volume?

I saw a post about volume issues with the galaxy nexus on jellybean, and some people were talking about certain kernels that have volume boosts built in... in fact I'm running air kernel on my ns4g which has voodoo and allows me to increase the output. Is there anything like that for the nexus 7? The headphone output isn't as loud as I wish it was. And sorry of this has been answered and I jus didn't find it, searching is easier on the computer which I don't have access to at the moment...

Anyone?
I use the app "equalizer" and set it to rock. Louder and much better output.

I use volume + (volume booster) from meltus. I have 2 N7's and one isn't as loud as the other so this app makes it so much better...actually too loud sometimes.

Volume low on headphones.

Also on the speaker. I tried diff apps but to no avail. Is there a config file that can be added or edited to boost volume? I really think the volume is set lower than it should be. Anyone?

I use sound booster but you have to keep fiddling to get a percentage that works.
Keep an eye on the X louder mod and hope he brings out a 4.2 version soon

Cool but I hate 4.2 because of the bugs. Anyway, there must be config files to edit the volume. These apps don't seem to do Nada.

I do not want to root at this time for various reasons. Stupid of me for even posting this seeing you would have to have su in order to edit config files or run scripts. I noticed volume+ on the play store states that the app will most likely not work unless you're rooted. Bummer.
I just flashed back and do not want lose everything nor do I want to back everything up. Wish they would just provide a way to boost volume or would have tested the volume on the device! It's too low!

Depends on where you buy it, it maybe be a ear safety regulation, I know in some countries volume must not exceed certain value. For example, if you get an iPod in US or France, then the US one is going to be way louder.
I don't know whether this is the case with N7, or just a design flaw.
Mine used to do the same until I installed the apps called ear piece and speaker boost and use them together also go into there settings and adjust them to a 100% GOD BLESS YOU GUYS

Those two apps do work but I am picky. Wish I could have the boost and not lose the bass. They only seem to boost midrange a bit and then distort. If I use Google music eq it cuts the apps out and vice versa. I am still experimenting. Thanks for all the help. God bless you as well.

Well I discovered the problem. I am a dimwit! It was partially my over the ear headphones! I tried some ear buds with the equalizer app and it is amazing! Lol...forgive.....

I was going to ask what kind you have LoL glad you fixed it GOD BLESS YOU GUYS

By the way. The eq in Google music works just fine. No need for me to even use an app.

Big headphones require more power
And usually those are oriented more towards clean studio sound (unless you're using Beats, which is just bass and some more bass and nothing else)
Try connecting N7 to big headphones trough an amplifier, I'm sure you'll notice the difference.
I'm glad you figured it out.

Vol + and vol - are working scrambled and no sound on earpiece

Well I don't know what happens and the buttons are working vol + as vol - and all the way around
I don't know why I am aosp only rooted. Nothing else. I ve already flash everything and keeps the same.

Hey I also had this happen randomly and like you said putting headphones in and out will fix this issue. Funny because I've never even used headphones in my nexus 4 yet!

This actually happened to my co-worker and he didn't use headphones. Couldn't figure it out so he called and got it replaced.

Slight 'click' or 'pop' noise occasionally heard on screen touch

Even when my phone is muted this happens. Its a faint click or pop noise I'll sometimes hear coming from my phone when I click on something. This is with everything muted, its not the normal haptic feedback or anything like that. Anyone else have this issue??

From where does the sound originate? The speaker? The screen? The edge?
It sounds like your phone has a loose part. Clamp it firmly on the face and back, the make sure the torx screws on the bottom and appropriately tightened. Do not overtighten, for you risk cracking your phone from the stress that might occur from doing so.
Woah haha, I just created a thread about this

I have it too. Comes from the speaker. Mine happens about 70 percent of the time when clicking on something on screen. Interestingly, it doesn't happen when using the keyboard.
It must be something in software. Currently running the latest PA3 rom.

Q anyone carrying a good 3 button headset alternative to stock?

If so do all buttons work on g2. Would you recommend it or a different headset?
my stock ones gotten wet and sound tincanny, otherwise I would not be looking for a replacement.
Speaking of which, anyone has compared with stock ones?
edit Q was originally for klipsch, I misread it has one button.

I have the klipsch s4a ii. There is only one button on the headphones... One click play/pause. Two: skip. Three: back.
I would recommend them highly. I've used the s4 ii, s4a, and the s4a ii, and they are all good.
I really don't think you can go wrong with any similar headsets in the same price range. There is a huge selection of very good headsets on the market.

anyone know of a good three button alternative?
I still use the UR beats that came with my HTC One X a while back.
The remote works like this:
- fwd/bwd buttons >>> volume up/down
- Center button in combination with Head Set button controller > start/stop, next/previous title
