Hi all,so my 4.3 update came in 2 days ago,and ever since then I can't download updates or new apps from the play store. I've tried resetting phone, quitting and re opening. Tried on both WiFi and 3g and no luck. I get the same message which I will attach a screenshot of. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not rooted and the update was ota. The screenshot was taken after attempting to download an update to an app.

You have to factory reset if you are using the first email added to the device when setting it up.

No, you don't have to do a factory reset.
Edit: I retract my previous statement.

I yield. I posted before my brain could catch up. Sorry Mr. andyabc!
Although you can remove and re-add your Google account, and this does fix the problem, you will get force-close errors.
Mr. andyabc's post reminded me that this happened to me just a few days ago.

Yeah you have to factory reset to remove the main (first) account since it uses most of the Google Services and such.

I tried to look for this problem, but couldn't find anything relevant...
finally got my unlocked nexus 4 in the mail today!
was super excited, cut my existing t-mobile sim card (I'm on a contract with them) and was able to connect to their network.
the problem is that no matter what network i am on (wifi, 4g, 2g) i cannot download any apps from the play store. I click on 'install', it brings up the permissions window, i click on 'accept and download' and it tells me "[app_name] could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]."
Also can't update any apps...
I am extremely confused.. has anyone encountered this problem?

Does it still do it when you try to install something else?
You could be like me and not have Facebook anymore

It is your nexus saying screw Facebook...if I was a nexus 4 I wouldn't want Facebook on me either.

I am with djwyman. Don't install FB app on your phone please. It is a piece of ****e software. Instead use your browser, chrome or Firefox. Works rather well.

OP, I do not know the source of that error, but from the screenshot it looks like you are using a custom rom. Try deleting some cwm backups. If that fails, do a factory reset and start over.
Can someone help me troubleshoot this? I try to add a circle or connect to hangouts and it's just like nope, server error.

Delete app data and cache. Uninstall and reinstall from market. See if that helps. Always should be first steps when an app bugs out like that.

Hello, recently I updated my Nexus 4 to Android 4.3 (over the air)
But now the messaging app drains a huge amount of battery. How can I solve this? I already force closed it lots of times but it keeps coming back...

Can you select Messaging from the list so I can have a look of what is going on?

Hmm is there a way to keep app data without root? I'm planning to root again as soon as CM gets updated to 4.3, so I'd prefer that otherwise.
(Cant backup anything on a pc now since my own pc is broken)

I've never used it, but this app from the Play store (made by clockworkmod) says it can backup without root (although you will need a PC).
