Eye gesture?

For some reason I cannot get the eye gesture to work for scrolling Web pages any suggestions? Is there a distance you have to keep your fave from the screen?

You have to tilt the phone....and just hold it like if you were watching a portrait video.....speaking of which...
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET THE WHOLE LOOK AWAY PAUSE WORKING ON THIS PHONE?!?!?!?! Since day one I've been trying to get that to work and nothing....not one single time did that damn feature work....

believe the look away pause feature is only for the stock video player

The look away or "Smart Pause" feature also works in the youtube app. It worked for me without even trying and is definitely a cool feature to show off the s4. Just make sure you enable "Smart Pause" in the settings under settings, my device, smart screen.

Smart pause gets insanely annoying when ur trying to show someone a YouTube video and it pauses everytime you turn the phone

Trading in under warranty. Root and loki still available?

Today I am picking up my new gs4 from the warranty center due to headphone jack problems. I was wondering if I will still be able to root and use the loki kernel exploit? Or just deal with the damn problems? Anyone have any idea. I know they are re manufactured mobos so I dont think they would have patched anything but im not willing to take a chance any info would be greatly appreciated.

Also with it being a refurbised mobo does that make an issue. Should I just keep the one that was brand new.

If the new phone has AMDB or AMDL firmware (AT&T) you should be OK.

Thanks guys! Yeah I have [email protected] Got a call from them, going to pick it up now! Hopefully my monster headphones wont pop and crack after turning the volume passed 7.... the original samsung headphones have no issues whatsoever. Its just my expensive ones like klipchs and monster that seem to pop andvcrack at high volune when they work flawlessly on other devices... doesvanyone know which headphones with the 3 buttons are compatable with the gs4. So far volume controls refuse to work on monster dna earbuds and klipsch s4i headphones. Is there a certain ohm or impedance the gs4 uses. Never had this problem with my atrix... a compatable list of 3 button headphones would be greatly appreciated.

Changing capacitive buttons sound.

OK, maybe someone will answer me here. Lol. OK, so I've changed the annoying stock tw touch sound, but the water drop sound is still there when I touch the capacitive buttons or home button.
So my question is, does anyone know where the sound file is for this? Kinda odd that touching the screen only clicks, and the buttons make the water drop sound.

Thanks a lot! So tired of the stock water dropping sound. I will never know how the people at Samsung can go "yes, that's the perfect sound for touching the screen". I need to find the HTC one touch sound and use that.

Well yes, but that's gotta be bad luck or something. Just worried that I will add something from the HTC one to my s4, then all of a sudden, the device build quality will become complete crap, will lose 4g, and will get dirty just looking at it.

Go to the same file system and listen to the ui sounds. Always add .Bak to your own file so if something does happen or you font like it you delete the new one and change the old one back to normal

Add .bak to the original. Choose whatever sound you want (needs to be in .ogg format). Rename it to S_HW_Touch. Profit.

Actually it doesn't need to be an ogg - it can be an mp3. It just needs that exact file name.

Lag city :(

I'm running a rooted, cleaned up, stock mf3 ROM and its just terrible in terms of lag. Scrolling anywhere is jerky and awful looking, pulling down the notification shade is like 10 fps sometimes. Is this really the best it can do on touchwiz? My other devices are HTC One GPe, N4, Note 2, etc...
They're all faster! Help!

you can try to going into developer options and enabling force gpu rendering

Honestly I haven't noticed lag, if I were you after attempting to cut down lag, use your warranty.

I am envious. There is no way its a hardware issue. Wake your device and pull the notification shade down quickly. What's it look like?

My notif bar is always quick when I pull it down, even when I wake the phone from sleep then pull it down ...I think you just have to tweak kernel and rom settings a bit. Or clear cache...dalvik and app data. Quicker then the htc one from att I had..

Thats just your device man. Mine is smooth as butter, and always has been. I would double check to make sure power saving is disabled, and if it is, then your best bet is to factory reset and see if that makes an improvement.

User error

I had practically no lag out of the box. . . so maybe your phone has a hardware issue.
(since rooting and flashing Shostock2.1, and setting animations to 0 my phone is quick!)
The condition you describe is not normal for our model.

i Had same problems or close to same.
i had phone freezing and also flipping home screen used to freeze I went back stock and re root and flashed custom rom close to stock and i seen no lag
Maybe try some of custom roms ?

I've run about 3 different Roms and I use the gs4 and One daily. The one is quicker. I know from reviews and Google searches I'm not alone in experiencing the lag. Maybe some people are more perseptive to it?
The Google edition ROM was quicker. I already have the Google play edition one though, so I was trying to use touch wiz. I'll see if I can video the lag.

It looks like it's themed that way, but you say your touch screen also doesn't with? Have you tried a different rom in safe strap?

Its not the theme. Its something to do with safestrap.and system. And when i go to recovery my screen flashing and give me different colors. But i only guss to do factroy rest. So need deep clean. Is there any odin wip to flash it to it

No theres no odin for mf3 (that im aware of at least)
Seems like you may have flashed something wrong...safestrap is not the problem...the problem is with your phone or something you flashed
Please tell us EVERYTHING youve done until it got to this state...
When did you install safestrap?
Did you make a new rom slot?
What kind of wipes did you do?
What have you flashed?
Anything else?
