hi all,
Using the S4 I9505, i was happy with it and battery life was really awesome running

However, since upgrading OTA from Samsung to the version below, i have been having 25% less longevity with the phone battery life span. Anyone facing the same problem? I wish the upgrade would have helped battery life instead of kill it.

The only solution is to wait for Samsung to release another update, or go for plain vanilla Google Play edition?

Mine is the MF4 build, which is the HK version and i'm on stock rom.
After update it always reboots itself, just that after a few days use i'm noticing that this build is crappy on battery life and curious if others face the same.
Yup I also noticed less battery on MFx firmware. Wait for MGx firmware it has best battery life so far.

My phone just updated this morning, I don't know what version I was on before, but now my root is gone.
I used Odin to put L720VPUAMDC_L720SPTAMDC_L720VPUAMDC_HOME.tar on my phone the last time I rooted.
But now I am worried that something has changed, and if I use that to put it back on my phone, and regain the root; something will go wrong and bam, brick.
Any assistance would be great.

First off don't use caps second you have an app draining your battery like Facebook or google plus of you don't have root then get it and install better battery stats from XDA.

I have heard some issues with root after having installed this new Firmware, and I have so far avoided making the update.
Does anyone have any experience?

Thanks eldoodorino. Did you use the CF-Auto-Root from the main site, marked KOT49H.T900XXUANB5, or a new one, made specifically for the KOT49H.T900UEUANI1, if the latter would you mind pasting a link to an I1 compatible version?

Don't needed. You can root the normal cf-auto-root with latest sock without problem.
After we pm chat last days about rollback to T900UEUAND4 as unique possibility for rooting, i decided to do a last try before that, and luckily works perfect:
-just did a factory reset to restore from B3 recovery i been trying to prev installed T900UEUANI1 stock, wipe caché with stock recovery, odined cf-auto-root and voilá, just rooted!
No need to do the old B3-rollback-prior-D4 method now. Just a normal auto-root with no hassling.

Seems like the listed cf-auto-root will work. And, yes it did, no problem what-so-ever in rooting the I1 with the B3 Auto Root
Thanks for this.
spontaneous resets
i had 2 o 3 resets per day with this stock rom, all was fine, the stock rom looks great, battery have long life, but many resets per day did me change to cm11, runs great but keyboard is not so great as stock and battery has less life per day.

From what I"ve read the resets are due to disabling Knox in SuperSU.

thx for your answer @thebobmannh
I have not completely understood, I have a rooted Tab12 and have been forced to run, from TWRP, the only working rom I could find. Can I use this method to remove TWRP with Odin?

Hello everyone!
Good day!
I'm from the Philippines and I just recently bought a brand new galaxy note 4 SM-910C About a day ago. I was so excited that I did not notice the OS was already 5.0.1. Is this normal? I thought that stock brand new note 4 was in 4.4.4 kitkat version. And on top of that, the antutu benchmark score was between 38000-42000 And a friend of mine has a 52000 rating. I thought that maybe this was a preused phone, rooted, and then returned. And the store sold it back to me as a brand new model.
I need help cause if this phone is ok, I'm not gonna return it since it works fine for me but I'm just bothered that my antutu score is low and that it came with 5.0.1 already.
Thanks and I appreciate all your help.

Thanks for the reply... but what I meant to say is that maybe my phone was tampered before I bought it. So I was asking if there is actually a brand new note 4 with preinstalled 5.0.1. Since as far as I know, it initially comes with kitkat and then you'll have to wait for an available update for 5.0.1 or you use a custom rom.

U.A.E has 5.0.1 so no worries, if you want to check about root or refurbished, install phone info app from Google play store to verify.

Thanks! I downloaded a phone info app and its original and brand new. Now I'm just perplexed why my antutu score is low. But I giuess that does not really matter.
Try to rest the phone for a while. Needs to be cooled down before running benchmark to avoid cpu throttling due to heat.

Did that already and I got about 42000 from 38000. I also did a phone info and it said it was original. But how can I really know if it isnt refurbished?
Battery drains fast. After charging, I get a battery reading of 98% after 5 mins of use...
check the box, it should say what firmware is supposed to be installed on the phone.
I checked through Samsung Phone Info APP and it says it is original... however I tried typing ##786# or *#*#786*#*# or search hidden menu through Launcher pro but it doesnt work...
Hi, a friend has a Galaxy S5 (MetroPCS) he wanted me to unlock. He works at a hotel and any items found in rooms go to their "Lost and found" thing for a 60 day period. This was found and never claimed, so he wants to use it as his own. I've looked through it a bit and it appears it was used by a former drug dealer around town. Huzzah. Anyway.
It appears to already be rooted and has TWRP already installed, though still uses the stock ROM.
My questions are- How would I go about doing a fresh install on it? Also, is there a free way to unlock them or do I have to go through one of those unlock websites?
Here are the specs

I see there's a newer version with 5.1.1. Would I be able to flash that without any major issues instead of the one already on it?

Upgrade it using Smart Switch.
Just an update- I successfully used SmartSwitch to upgrade the phone, kudos for that.
Also ended up going through cellunlocker.net to unlock it. They even sent an unfreeze code with it.
