I have received the 4.3 OTA update but I am rooted with tons of apps. Can I use the OTA update or will I have to do it manually and loose everything ?
I have tried the OTA update but it goes to team win screen and then nothing. I have pressed reboot and it back to 4.2.2
Just need help on how to approach this
.
Thanks in advance.

So this is my first post.
I have a rooted Nexus 4. The Kit Kat update came OTA today. Downloaded. About 30 seconds into the install got Error and it rebooted into 4.3. Lost root.
What is my best route for installing the update? It's obviously on the phone but how do I install it? I'm assuming I have to re-root and install from root? I don't know. Help please.

Hello,
I've got a new I9506 with 4.2.2 pre installed.
Prior to rooting it with this How-To (thanks for that) I downloaded the presented 4.3 OTA update.
Now my device is rooted and has the update ready.
It is bugging me all the time if i'd like to do the update.
Before I'd do that I would have four questions about what would happen:
1.) Will it even work?
2.) Will the device still be rooted?
3.) Will the KNOX bit stay untriggered?
4.) How do I get rid of the notification for the update, if I don't want to update?
Thanks in advance for any information.
1) You downloaded the update but unique way for install it is via STOCK RECOVERY coz u are rooted.
2) No. Your phone make factory reset when u install a update.
3) In theory yes. Its better unroot ur phone before apply the update avoid problems.
4) Deleting some apps of system/app with root explorer:
LocalFOTA.apk
SyncmIDM.apk
SyncmIDS.apk
Thanks mate,
bottomline I could unroot and update with stock recovery or flash the stock 4.3 directly.
But if I want to root 4.3 afterwards i would trigger the KNOX bit anyway, right?
Regarding the files: Will try to find them, thanks!
Hi,
I'm using HTC ONE M9+, today finally HTC released 6.0 Update for M9+,my hpne downloading update without any problem when i click to Install Now it says Rebooting and after reboot TWRP Kicks in and does nothing. Is there any way to disable TWRP to install this new update ?
Flash back the corresponding "stock" recovery.
You must also have an unmodified system to apply the OTA successfully.
i've flashed "recovery_verified.img__TW_1.90.709.3" now TWRp disabled but during update (at %23) it says OTA failed, my OTA is TW, according to error message i need europe's OTA which i couldn't find on internet
i actually have the same issue i have tried copying the ota and tried flashing through adb but it shows that error executing updater binary zip file and errror flashing the device
im running L 5.0.1 and want to update to m 6.0.1 through ota
i have unlocked bootloader but s-on .how to flash the otp? thanks in advance
MIracles happen! Is there anyone that have already made the update and can tell if the sense it's still there or if HTC have removed everything like in the HTC 10?
i think i can update my phone to 6.0 if i can find Europe OTA, i've searched everywhere but i couldn't find it
even i have downloaded the update but cant install as i have system partition modified...i ve searched for a ruu or stock rom but couldnt find anywhere...however i do have the Indian OTA update.
did anyone managed to install 6.0 update yet ?
Hi guys,
I recently fixed 6p with bootloop problem. Currently it's running latest 8.1 android version and im getting notifications about latest security patch. So my question is: how can I apply that update without bricking the phone. Will OTA update bricks the phone again?
Updating via OTA would put your phone right back into a bootloop. In order to update from now on you'll have to flash the updates manually by downloading the factory images from Google and installing each piece separately via fastboot, EXCEPT for the kernel (boot.img) and recovery (recovery.img).
Thanks
Thanks very much for clarifyng this. I have downloaded the latest April update from google but it still offers some 60MB update. I guess I'll wait for May release and update manually then. Many thanks again!
Helpp!! I am running my STOCK ROM Android Pie March Update 2019. Previously, I decided to root my phone via Magisk, and then I unroot it today because I need to get the OTA update so I unrooted it.
I selected from the Magisk, restore images because I think when you choose completely uninstall you're going to bootloop because you're going to flash a stock and clean boot.img from the March 2019 Update.
After unrooting it, my phone is not a rooted, i even checked it via Root Checker on playstore and the result is not rooted.
Now, I am trying to install April 2019. I tried to factory reset my phone via settings and still the OTA update wont work.
It says -> Couldn't update, installation problem.
Would you help me please?? Thanks!
I had the same problem flashed the latest update from here via twrp and now my phone is updated.
