Hi,
I've read the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287992
The question i have and a few others who are past the ME2 Firmware, is, does this actual mod depend on the baseband the phone is on? or can the service menu be ported to higher versions of S4 Firmwares, as i have tried the mod, but like most people, we are already past the supported Firmwares, or is their some sort of another MOD to enable this feature?
Kind Regards

there you have a solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369296
there is a special app to call service menu, even if dialer service codes do not work any more (on past ME2 firmwares). you can buy it in Play Store or download apk for free from developer website

Hi,
I couldn't find anything related to this on the forum so here it goes.
I know that google has disabled LTE support in latest baseband release. And one would be able to flash the old baseband to regain LTE support. However there's many steps that one need to do to get it enabled (type in service code, change LTE setting, enter APN etc.), not to mention you also loose some enhancements/bugfixes.
So my question is that, is there any way one can build a custom ROM + modified latest baseband (4.2.2) to have default enabled LTE support directly? (means no service code change, APN change etc. and with all the possible enhancement from the baseband build)
If yes, please direct me to the post or instruction, if not, why not?
Thanks for answering!

You can just use the old baseband and have LTE on any ROM.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, as I stated in my OP, I'm well aware of the ability to use old baseband on the other ROMs to have LTE. However, I'd like to have LTE on latest baseband, and also native LTE support without fiddling with the settings.
I would like to learn how to do it if there's no one already doing it, just need some direction to the right documentation/guides or explain why its not feasible.

I don't believe the baseband software is open source. Since the LTE functionality was removed from the baseband itself, flashing a ROM is not going to restore it to the .44 baseband.

I see, that's what I'm afraid of, so I guess the best one can do is pack a .39 baseband with custom 4.2.2 ROM with default LTE configuration then? So I guess my follow up questions is how much of the LTE operation is controlled by the basedband module?
Can a ROM have LTE as Preferred Network setting?
I think its possible to have default APN configured baked into the ROM?
Is there anyway that I can install T-mobile firmware on my N9005 Galaxy Note 3? I tried to do it but it fails everytime. is there any way I can change my model number or something so I can install different firmwares from different variants? I ask this because I used to own a HTC One and I was able to change the model number so I could install different firmwares.

The better question is you have an international model so what is your goal? Are you trying to install a specific ROM to enable features (like modem frequencies) which have been disabled? You cannot install another model ROM on your device or you will just go into a boot loop or soft-brick your device and you will need to go through a recovery process. I'm going to assume you want to install a ROM for a specific feature or set of features which can be done but you simply need to ROOT and find a compatible ROM with the features you require.
Hope this helps!

yeah I was going to see if I would get LTE speeds if I'd installed the t-mobile firmware. also I want to be able to use Wifi calling as well. but the main reason I wanted to try out t-mobile firmware was, so I could get LTE speeds.

Please refer to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46653611#post46653611. You have posted a duplicate thread essentially asking the same information. I have provided a link which once viewed and completed should hopefully solve your issue. If not, respond to that thread and I'll help where possible. Thanks!
I have just gotten my new S4 and want to put on a custom rom to bring it up to 4.3 as it currently has 4.2.2. But I am apprehensive because it has a model number of i9507. Therefore, two questions:
1) Is this an issue?
2) Is there a rom out there that gives me the look of stock but the functions of Touchwiz (I like the Air Gestures/Smart Stay/Dual Shot etc).
Additional info if it will help,
Handset is from Optus Australia and is referred to as "4G+" by Optus.
And I have searched here to no avail, although similar questions were asked.
Thanks.
Really?
No one on here's familiar with this variant?
Although saying that, even a Google search doesn't give me much information either.
Is it the dualSIM Version?

No not a dual sim. From what I can get from Google, it is TD-LTE
Heres some mini info ^^

Hi. I received a Samsung Galaxy S5 as a gift about a month ago, but it's missing so many features I have no idea why.
My friend has exactly the same model, yet he has so many more options. For example,
I cannot edit the options for Power Saving mode
There is NO S voice on my apps page
The Sound Recorder looks just like the one from S4 and not S5, it also has NO options either, to configure it
Cannot change several options on the Camera, such as setting the brightness. The option is there, but it's greyed out, I cannot select it
I cannot update the android version. My current version is 4.4.2 and I cannot update it. As I access the 'System Updates', it does say 'Checking for update', but after a while it just says 'Network connection failed' no matter what. The signal for internet is the strongest, as well.
If I press and hold on the Home Screen, the whole options are not coming up either, such as seeing the current running applications. It just says 'Set wallpaper for', 'Apps and widgets' and 'Folder'.
What's wrong with it? Any way I can at least get the S voice?
Your phone might have a custom ROM. Go to settings -> About and list the following information so we know what we're dealing with here:
Model name
Baseband version
Kernel version

SM-G900F is the European version of S5 and from what I see there are some discrepancies with the kernel number ...
So here is my hypothesis:
A. It has the incorrect ROM, which means flashing a 900F ROM should bring back those grayed out menus
B. It is a clone and not the real thing! Try reading some more by googling this "3.4.5 [email protected] #1 sm-g900f"
Thank you for the reply. I will ask where has the gift been specifically bought from to ponder on the "clone" thesis. I really, really hope such is not the case. Also, will it only bring back the greyed menus and ignore the 'S Voice' problem?
Regarding the 900F flash, do you think it's okay follow this guide in the attachment? (Have to do it this way cause I can't post links)
I would not try to flash anything before you're sure what you have in your hands cause if it's fake and you try to flash official Samsung rom you would be in trouble. Download Phone info Samsung from play store and check there if it's a original s5
this seems to be common specs of clone s5 phones that i am guessing need the appropriate custom rom - would anyone know if the given specs/details above would be enough to identify a specific custom rom - i have the same specs and when i did a hard reset it let loose a mass of spyware, adware, downloaded numerous playstore games and porn site links all as soon as i put the phone online - i am therefore desperate to find a clean custom rom that matches the above specs - i am hoping as doves above for an appropriate custom rom source
Hi everyone,
I hope my question is posted in the right forum...
I have Samsung Galaxy S4 i9515 LTE and I have installed that firmware update to Android 5 - sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9515/ , but now it turned out that the update is appropriate for that model, but without LTE support... so my phone now connect with 3G only, no LTE connection support is there.
I know it was my mistake. Now I'd like to go back to Android 4.4.2, but I heard some time that reversing Android versions can damage the device. How to do that properly?
Thank you for any help!
Please post the following information:
1. Model Number
2. Android Version, found by going to Settings > More > About device.
3. Firmware Version (AP, CP, CSC), found by dialing *#1234# in the dialer or by installing Phone Info from the Play Store and running it.
4. Service Provider
5. Country
6. Is the phone rooted? (Yes/No)
7. Is a custom ROM installed? (Yes/No, and the name of the ROM)
Eh, actually in the evening LTE started to be there.... . Sorry guys, I was sure it was by the software that LTE is not working. Maybe it was some network operator problems.
Only difference I see now in Android 5 is that I have "LTE" sign instead of '4G" like it was in Android 4.4.2.
Sorry for confusing post .
Glad to see you got things resolved.

There is only 4.4.2 for alll countries. Is ur rom a custom rom?
Tnks, sorry bad english.
You didn't look hard enough. It's there on the page. Just NOT at the top, like you would expect.
